Ah-Can skillfully steered the boat, slowly approaching the fallen Feng Ye.
Looking at the three orcas still swimming freely on the sea in the distance, he smiled and said with emotion, "The way these three orcas are so affectionate looks just like dolphins!"
"Actually, orcas are a type of dolphin, so it's normal for them to have some similarities."
Feng Ye climbed onto the boat, glanced at the sky, and urged, "Alright, go pack up the rest of the longline fishing and hurry back. We've already wasted too much time."
"Yes, it is getting late, it's almost six o'clock."
Ah-chan nodded in agreement.
The Rising Sun changed course and headed into the distance.
However, as the Rising Sun began to accelerate, the three killer whales followed closely behind.
It remained on the right side of the Rising Sun, as if accompanying them on their journey.
The male killer whale may have been injured, which is why it did not leap out of the water.
The female killer whale, however, seemed particularly excited, leaping high into the air from time to time, sometimes as high as one or two meters out of the water, splashing up huge sprays of water.
The baby killer whale's body was covered with a hideous and horrific scar, a mark left by the rope tightly binding it.
Surprisingly, it did not become listless due to the injury; instead, it displayed unusually vigorous energy and vitality.
It kept leaping up from the sea surface, propelling itself forward almost by jumping, seemingly without any sign of fatigue.
"These three killer whales are really interesting! They've been following us the whole time."
Seeing the scene before him, Ah-chan couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Then let them follow. They'll leave when they get tired."
As the two talked, the Rising Sun had already reached the vicinity of the area where the longline fishing was taking place and began reeling in the line again.
After swimming around for a while, the three killer whales sped away into the distance, then dived into the sea and disappeared from their sight.
"Sigh, these orcas are really quite intelligent."
Ah-chan let out a sigh, then immediately focused intently on reeling in the wires.
The entire longline fishing retrieval process went very smoothly, without any unexpected incidents.
Of course, it didn't bring any additional surprises either.
Feng Ye and A-Can were not too disappointed by the result.
After all, this is something that is commonplace.
"That's it for the day, time to go home."
Feng Ye straightened up and stretched his back, which was sore from maintaining one posture for a long time.
Ah-Can pointed to the ten baskets of longline fishing rods on the boat: "Aren't these longline fishing rods going to be released again?"
Feng Ye thought for a moment, then shook his head: "It's too late, let's take it back first. We can have someone sort it out and replace the missing hooks."
There are many fish in the sea with sharp teeth and mouths, such as eels, which are very difficult to remove from the hook once they are hooked.
Some fish go even further, swallowing the hook along with the food, making it virtually impossible to retrieve it.
Faced with these two situations, the only recourse is usually to cut the branch line.
In this way, the number of hooks caught on longline fishing will gradually decrease.
Therefore, it is essential to replenish the hooks regularly.
Of course, in addition to the two reasons mentioned above, there is a third situation that may lead to fewer hooks – the branch line being bitten off by the fish.
However, this situation is relatively rare, since most fish do not have such sharp teeth and powerful bites.
Their longline fishing rods have been in the sea for quite some time, weathering many storms, so naturally, a lot of hooks have been worn out.
"Alright then."
Ah-chan nodded and excitedly ran off to start the boat.
"I wonder how those three killer whales are doing. I hope they can rest and recover soon."
Ah-Can gripped the helm tightly with both hands, gazing at the vast, boundless sea in the distance, and suddenly uttered a sigh.
"Don't worry, orcas have a strong ability to recover; they will definitely..."
Before they could finish speaking, they suddenly caught sight of three enormous dorsal fins emerging from the sea to their left, swiftly cleaving the surface like a sharp sword and hurtling straight toward them.
Upon seeing this, Feng Ye exclaimed in surprise, "Why is the orca back again?"
Upon hearing this, Ah-Can hurriedly followed Feng Ye's gaze and indeed saw the agile figure of the orca.
"Hey, they really came back!"
Before long, the three killer whales swam quickly to the vicinity.
But they didn't stop; instead, they all plunged into the sea and disappeared without a trace in an instant.
Faced with this scene, Feng Ye and A-Can looked at each other in bewilderment.
"What are these three guys trying to do?"
Feng Ye and A-Can were both quite puzzled.
Suddenly, ripples appeared on the once calm sea surface, as if some huge object was emerging from the seabed.
In the blink of an eye, a dark shadow burst out of the water and flew onto the deck in front.
Then, the same scene played out again, with two more dark figures flying onto the ship.
Before Feng Ye and A Can could even run up to the deck to investigate, they heard a "whimpering" sound coming from the sea to their right.
The two hurriedly ran out of the cockpit and first looked at the unidentified object that had fallen onto the deck.
Upon closer inspection, they were astonished to discover that they were actually three enormous fish!
