At around four in the morning, the sky was still pitch black, as if shrouded by a thick curtain.
However, there was already some activity at the dock.
At first, only a few figures were moving around, but as time went on, more and more people appeared at the dock.
Instead of sailing out to sea, they waited patiently, gathering in small groups and talking quietly.
As it approached five o'clock, a large crowd had already gathered at the pier.
A cacophony of voices arose from the crowd as people greeted each other and chatted enthusiastically.
They got up so early for one purpose only—to follow Feng Ye and A Can to the reef to catch abalone, lobsters, and other seafood.
Everyone was filled with anticipation, secretly wondering what the reef looked like and where it was located.
As everyone eagerly awaited their arrival, Feng Ye and A-Can finally appeared, holding flashlights.
With a large group of people traveling together, safety was assured, and their respective parents were also quite at ease and did not want to go with them.
As soon as the two stepped onto the dock, the crowd stirred and gathered around them.
They stood in the center of the crowd, the beam of their flashlights flickering across people's faces, illuminating only those filled with anticipation.
These people are all villagers from Dongtou Village. Some are familiar faces, but others are not so familiar.
A rough estimate suggests there are over a hundred people.
Feng Ye estimated that almost every household in the village had someone involved, and everyone wanted a share of the pie.
Immediately afterwards, a flood of questions came their way:
"Ah Ye, where exactly is the reef? How far away is it?"
"Yes, how long does it take to get there by boat?"
"How many people are fishing on Longtail Island? Are they enough for us to catch?"
"How large is the reef? Can it accommodate all of us?"
Faced with a barrage of questions from everyone, Feng Ye and A-Can were getting a headache.
He clapped his hands a few times, successfully drawing everyone's attention, before speaking: "Uncles, brothers, and sisters, please listen to me for a few words."
“Ah Ye, you speak, we’re all listening,” a middle-aged man with a full beard shouted back.
Feng Ye nodded and continued, "I understand everyone is eager to get started, filled with curiosity and anticipation for that reef, and can't wait to set sail. However..."
"I must solemnly remind everyone that the reef is hidden beneath the surface of the sea, and the cargo can only be retrieved by diving down."
"Therefore, there may be certain risks involved, so please be careful and do not take any risks."
"There is one more point I need to emphasize: if any unfortunate event occurs, you will have to bear all the consequences yourself. Do not try to shift the responsibility onto me or Ah-chan. We will not take any responsibility."
"Everyone here can bear witness. If you agree, you can come with us; if you disagree, you can go home and get some sleep now."
After Feng Ye finished speaking, the crowd was quiet for a moment, and then it erupted like a pot boiling over.
"Ah Ye, don't worry, we know what we're doing. If anything goes wrong, we definitely won't blame you."
"Yeah, yeah, we're not unreasonable people, how could we do something so unreasonable?"
“If anyone tries to show off and causes trouble, and then tries to blame Ah Ye and Ah Can afterwards, I will be the first to stand up and object.”
"......"
Immediately, everyone spoke up, expressing their support for Feng Ye's decision.
After all, making money is not easy, and now that such an excellent opportunity to make money has come along, naturally no one is willing to give it up easily.
Everyone knows perfectly well that they want to make more money.
Moreover, Feng Ye had already made his point very clear. If anyone still shamelessly tries to blame Feng Ye and A-Can, then they are truly shameless.
Seeing that no one had any objections, Feng Ye nodded in satisfaction and continued, "Finally, I hope that everyone will avoid arguments or conflicts, so as not to damage the harmony between us."
“That place is very large and can accommodate everyone to carry out fishing operations together. I believe everyone will return with a full catch and have a worthwhile trip.”
He glanced around and, seeing that everyone was listening attentively, continued, "The reef is located relatively far away; it takes about two hours to sail there from here."
"Alright, that's all I have to say. Please board the ship immediately and just follow our ship closely."
As soon as he finished speaking, Feng Ye and A-Can turned around and walked straight toward the Rising Sun ship docked at the pier.
Upon seeing this, the others also sprang into action, rushing towards their respective fishing boats and boarding them one by one.
Besides the Rising Sun, the other fishing boats carried varying numbers of people, ranging from as few as four or five to as many as ten.
It is obvious that almost every fishing boat has some hitchhikers.
"Set off!"
Feng Ye stood at the bow of the boat, gazing at the faint light of dawn breaking over the sky. He raised his arms high and shouted.
This time, they were no longer alone and helpless; they had more than a hundred people fighting alongside them.
We've got this in the bag!
"Da da da..."
With a crisp sound, Ah-Can skillfully turned the crank and successfully started the diesel engine.
With a deep rumble, the Rising Sun was the first to start and slowly sail away from the dock.
