Chapter 176 Going to Divide the Money

Feng Ye chatted with his older brother while eating.

Just as he had guessed, it was because the catch from the sea was so good that they were reluctant to come back.

After they set sail, they never docked and remained adrift at sea, selling a batch of goods to fresh seafood collection ships every one to one and a half days on average.

Every other day or so, they would sell the seafood they caught to the seafood-collecting boats.

When the ship's diesel, fresh water, ice, and other supplies are about to run out, they will take advantage of the opportunity to trade with fresh food collection ships to buy a batch from them.

These supplies were naturally much more expensive, but they had no other choice.

After all, fresh produce ships need to make a profit, and doing so is more cost-effective than wasting time by docking to replenish supplies.

"If our bodies hadn't been so physically exhausted, we wouldn't have wanted to turn back."

Feng Xuan said with a smile, but his voice revealed a hint of helplessness and exhaustion.

In just a few days, his skin became noticeably tanned.

Ultraviolet radiation at sea is far more intense than on land, and is more harmful to the human body.

"You have far too few people. I said that even before we set sail."

"That's right, we are indeed short-handed. We're trawlers almost day and night, only able to take turns resting. Each time we haul in the nets, there's a huge catch, and just sorting and classifying them is already a chaotic task, while the next net is quickly pulled up."

Feng Xuan's tone carried a hint of annoyance.

Feng Jiaqing interjected, "In my opinion, it would be best to add four more people, so that they can be divided into two groups of four, working in two shifts."

"That's right, more people are better, so everyone can have enough rest time and at the same time improve work efficiency."

Feng Ye nodded repeatedly after hearing this.

"Hmm, that makes sense."

Feng Xuan agreed: "When we go to Uncle Jun's house to divide the money later, we'll discuss this matter with him and hear his opinion."

...

"Brother, I've finished eating. Let's go, let's split the money quickly."

Feng Ye quickly emptied the bowl of food, placed it on the table, and walked out of the main room, calling out.

"One bowl is enough, won't you have some more?"

"I'm so full, I can barely stand it."

Feng Ye patted his round belly.

Don't be fooled by the fact that he only ate one bowl; it wasn't a rice bowl, but a large bowl used to serve vegetables.

Just one bowl is enough to fill a person up, and if they are not particularly hungry, they may not be able to finish it.

"Alan, Mom and Dad, you go ahead with your work. Aye and I are going to Uncle Jun's house."

Feng Xuan put down the knife in his hand, stood up and went to wash his hands first.

Then, the two brothers picked up flashlights, stepped out of their house, and embarked on the country road leading to Uncle Jun's house.

It was already very late, the clock was almost pointing to ten o'clock.

But the whole village was immersed in a cacophony of noise, with almost every household brightly lit.

Occasionally, you'll see people carrying flashlights, hurrying home.

Especially at the dock, the beams of flashlights swung wildly, and the cacophony of sounds was exceptionally clear in the quiet night, carrying far and wide.

There is no doubt that the group that lingered near the reef has returned, or perhaps they have only recently come ashore.

Xiao Zhaojun's house was also wide open, with the lights on inside.

The entire Xiao family was filled with an unprecedented atmosphere of joy and liveliness.

The two quickly arrived at Xiao Zhaojun's house.

As soon as I got closer, bursts of laughter and cheerful chatter came from inside the house.

"Brother Xuan, Ah Ye, you're here. Come in quickly."

Xiao Guowen came out to greet him with a bright smile on his face.

"Brother Wen."

Feng Ye greeted them, and then they went into the main room together.

Hearing the noise, Xiao Zhaojun turned around and saw only the Feng brothers. He immediately asked, "Why are there only the two of you? Didn't A-Can come with us?"

"He might have been delayed by something, but he should be here soon," Feng Ye replied with a smile.

"Sit down and rest for a bit. I'll go inside and get the receipts. We'll settle the accounts as soon as A-Can arrives," Xiao Zhaojun said with a smile.

Xiao Guowu brewed a pot of hot tea and brought it over, saying with a smile, "Let's drink tea while we wait for him."

"OK."

Feng Ye and Feng Xuan sat down on the long bench by the table as instructed.

"Why are you so late? Did you come back too late?"

Xiao Guowen poured a cup of tea for each of them and asked.

"We didn't dock until almost nine o'clock. After getting home, I took a shower, ate dinner, and then rushed over here."

"Why are you back so late today? Did you get something good again and get so excited that you forgot the time?"

"Hmm...more or less."

Feng Ye briefly recounted his experiences of the day.

"I heard when I came back today that you led all the fishing boats in the village to the reef to cause trouble for the people of Longtail Island."

Xiao Guowu then excitedly slammed his hand on the table and shouted, "Well done! Those guys should have been taught a lesson long ago!"

Then, a hint of regret appeared on his face as he sighed, "It's such a wonderful and exciting event, it's a real pity I missed it. Either you go a day later, or we can come back a day earlier."

Xiao Guowen asked curiously, "Is that the reef where you caught abalone on the fifteenth?"

Feng Ye nodded: "Yes, that's it."

"How many abalone did you pry open today? Did you get more than on the fifteenth of the lunar month?"

Xiao Guowen couldn't help but regret not having taken a stake on the Rising Sun when he thought about the abalone they had pried open on the fifteenth.
