"We'll get to eat scallops."
Feng Xidong jumped up with joy and ran excitedly into the kitchen to get a basin.
Feng Yanmei followed closely behind, her face beaming with a happy smile.
Even little Feng Xinan wanted to climb down, so Feng Ye had to pick him up again and let him follow his older siblings with his short legs.
Children don't need to be raised too meticulously. It's okay if they bump into things and get hurt, as long as they don't suffer any serious injuries.
Who among Feng Ye's generation didn't go through this process?
Hearing the noise in the yard, Ye Qingling came out of the kitchen and almost bumped into Feng Xidong, who was running towards the kitchen with his head down.
"Ah Dong, why are you running so fast? Can't you watch where you're going?"
Ye Qingling grabbed Feng Xidong and scolded him.
Feng Xidong looked up and saw Ye Qingling, a bright smile spreading across his face: "Auntie, Uncle brought back a lot of scallops. I'll go get a basin to wash them."
"But you can't just run so fast without watching where you're going..."
Ye Qingling scolded him a few more times before letting him go.
Feng Xidong stuck out his tongue and dashed into the kitchen. Feng Yanmei, being sensible, called out to her aunt and went in as well.
Seeing Feng Xinan following behind, Ye Qingling shook her head and let him go, then smiled and went to greet Feng Ye.
"Weren't you supposed to be guarding that area of the sea? Why did you bring back so much stuff? The basket is full of scallops, but what's in that snakeskin bag?"
"Oysters, I guess I'm just sitting around doing nothing anyway..."
As Feng Ye explained, he unloaded three snakeskin bags onto the ground.
I'll take the other bag to Ah-Can when I call him later.
