On the Harvest, Feng Jialing, Feng Xuan, and Xiao Yunjiang were bleeding and draining the large fish that had been hauled up.
In that last haul, besides the sardines, we also caught four large fish.
Two mahi-mahi weighing over 20 pounds each, a swordfish weighing over 100 pounds each, and a large blue shark.
There were so many sardines on the deck that they were piled up like a small mountain.
"Wow, you guys made so much?"
"My goodness, this is way too much!"
Feng Ye and A-Can were both dumbfounded.
"This is only part of it. There's more in the cabin, the baskets are all full, so the rest will just have to be piled up on the deck."
"The weight on this deck alone must be over 10,000 jin (5,000 kg). When did you discover it?"
"We spotted the flock of seabirds around 2 a.m. on our way back, and we've been chasing the fish ever since. We've even thrown away the small fish and shrimp we were leaving behind to take these fish back with us."
"We've been fishing for four or five hours, and each net holds several thousand kilograms. No wonder there are so many."
"Did you catch any other big fish? There can't just be these four, right?" Ah-Can asked.
"Of course not, we caught quite a lot, they're all in the ship's hold."
"Let's go take a look."
Ah-chan excitedly strode towards the cabin.
Feng Ye was also quite curious about what kind of big fish they had caught, so he went along with them.
The two were shocked once again when they saw the large fish inside the cabin.
There were more than twenty fish of various sizes lying quietly inside the cabin, covered with broken ice.
There are quite a few varieties, including amberjack, swordfish, shark, tuna, bombfish, barracuda...
The most eye-catching items were a bluefin tuna weighing nearly 300 pounds and a giant sailfish that probably weighed over 500 pounds.
"So many big fish, amazing!" Ah-Can exclaimed. "How much would that sell for?"
Feng Ye was also amazed. He counted the number of large fish and said, "There are twenty-three here, four more outside, plus so many sardines."
"After you go back, you can rest for a few days. There's no need to rush to go out to sea."
Ah-Can chimed in, "Yes, sardines aren't worth much, but with so many of them, we can sell quite a bit, not to mention all these big fish."
"The key is that it's still so early, we can continue trawling, and when we get back, wow..."
"Aren't you the same? Every ship here today earns a year's worth of money in a single day. You can rest for a month or two, let alone a few days."
Xiao Guowen laughed heartily.
"That makes sense."
Feng Ye and A-Can both nodded in agreement.
Xiao Guowen asked, "I see you've caught quite a few sardines. Did you catch any big ones?"
"Yes, there are three. But one of them is a big fish that, while not very valuable, will absolutely dazzle you."
Xiao Guowen's eyes lit up: "Oh? What kind of fish is it? It's so special?"
"Yeah, what kind of fish?"
Feng Xuan and Feng Jialing were carrying the large blue shark in when they heard this and couldn't help but be curious.
"You have fish here too, but you've definitely never seen one this big before."
Ah-chan smiled mysteriously, without saying anything directly.
"Stop keeping me in suspense about what kind of fish it is."
Xiao Guowen's curiosity was piqued.
Feng Ye smiled and said, "It would be pointless to tell you. You should go and see for yourselves."
"I'm going to see what kind of fish it is that makes you two kids so mysterious."
Xiao Guowen smiled and shook his head, then turned and walked out of the cabin.
Feng Xuan and Feng Jialing exchanged a glance, covered the great blue shark with crushed ice, and then jumped onto the Rising Sun.
Even Xiao Yunjiang couldn't resist his curiosity.
"Zhang Hong?"
The moment they saw Da Zhanghong, all four of them stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
"Zhang Hong has grown this big?"
Xiao Guowen asked the same question that A-Can had asked before.
“Didn’t you see it?” Feng Ye retorted.
"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never have believed that Zhang Hong could be this old."
Xiao Guowen shook his head, amazed.
Feng Jialing nodded and said, "Two meters long, it should weigh more than two hundred kilograms. This fish is quite rare."
Feng Xuan also said, "It is indeed rare. The largest red snapper I saw before was caught by A Ye with a longline fishing. It weighed over 130 pounds and dragged the longline away. We almost couldn't find it."
Xiao Yunjiang also exclaimed in surprise, "A large red octopus and a bluefin tuna, both are good catches. You guys are pretty good too."
"It's alright. We only hauled two nets, so this is already a pretty good result."
"And this ghost-head knife, do you know how it was caught? Brother Ye caught it with a net."
"What?"
Feng Ye recounted the process of retrieving the ghost-head knife.
Xiao Guowen clicked his tongue in amazement: "This luck is truly unparalleled."
After admiring the spoils of the Rising Sun, the four of them returned to the Harvest.
The two ships separated, with the Harvest continuing its slow trawling.
Feng Ye and A-Can on the Rising Sun hurriedly ate breakfast and continued working.
...
Sardines, densely packed on the sea surface, migrate northwards continuously, followed by various large fish to prey on them, and fishing boats follow closely behind, from dawn to daybreak, noon, and afternoon...
The deck of the Rising Sun was piled high with sardines, leaving no room to even step on them; people had to stand directly on the sardines.
They also caught quite a few valuable fish, a total of eighteen of them, big and small.
"We'll just haul one more net and then head back to sell the fish; the boat's almost overflowing."
