Chapter 303 Father Beats Son

At the fork in the road, the two parted ways and went their separate ways home.

When Feng Ye pushed the cart to the gate of the courtyard alone, he was startled and his heart sank: "I'm doomed!"

Feng Jiaqing sat imposingly at the gate, with a wooden stick as thick as a baby's arm beside him.

The Harvest ship returned this morning.

However, since they docked at Lujia Village Wharf, a safe harbor on the island, it took them another hour to walk after disembarking.

Therefore, he and Feng Xuan returned quite late, just in time for lunch.

The family didn't think much of Feng Ye's absence from home for dinner, assuming he was just bored and had gone off to play somewhere.

After all, this son had a criminal record. Before going to sea, he would disappear for most of the day, and sometimes he wouldn't be seen until night.

Therefore, Feng Jiaqing only grumbled a few words at the dinner table.

Unexpectedly, Ye Qingling said that Feng Ye had gone to sea.

Feng Jiaqing immediately got angry and started cursing, accusing Feng Ye of being reckless and playing the piano haphazardly...

Feng Xuan also described the sights they saw on their return journey, how big the waves were...

The whole family couldn't enjoy their lunch properly, and they were worried the whole time.

After the meal, Feng Jiaqing went to the dock to wait.

If it weren't for a heavy rain that forced him to go home, he wouldn't be sitting at the front door.

The moment Feng Ye appeared at the courtyard gate, Feng Jiaqing grabbed a wooden stick, stood up, and his face was full of gloom.

"Hey, our busy man is back? He must have had a good haul at sea!"

His words carried a hint of sarcasm, and he lightly tapped his palm with the wooden stick in his hand.

Feng Ye was startled; he never expected that upon returning home, he would be greeted by a wooden stick.

He forced a fawning smile: "Father, let me explain..."

"Explain, I'll make you explain..."

Feng Jiaqing rushed towards Feng Ye with lightning speed.

Feng Ye quickly threw down the cart, turned around and ran: "Dad, calm down, I'm back safe and sound."

"What if he doesn't come back? Do you want your mother and me to be the ones who outlive our child?"

Feng Jiaqing wouldn't listen to his excuses. He was furious and determined to teach this troublesome son a lesson.

None of the other family members came out to stop them. Instead, they all stood at the door, watching the father and son chase each other in the yard with different expressions, feeling both annoyed and amused.

The naive Feng Xinan, however, was overjoyed, clapping his little hands and excitedly shouting, "Daddy, run! Grandpa's going to catch you!"

His clear, childlike voice echoed in the courtyard, adding a touch of joy to the "chase."

"Dad, I was wrong, I was wrong, okay? Please don't chase after me."

Feng Ye dared not slacken his pace in the slightest.

He dodged left and right, trying to avoid the seemingly casual but actually powerful shadow of the stick.

However, the yard was not big enough and had a lot of clutter, so there was limited space to dodge.

After being hit several times, he simply ran out of the yard without looking back.

At this point, any explanation would be futile; the only option was to avoid confrontation and wait for his father to calm down before returning.

As Feng Ye ran, he inwardly groaned, realizing he had really messed up this time.

He didn't expect his father to be so angry, or to come back so quickly.

As he ran, he glanced back at his father, who was hot on his heels.

His father's anger seemed to burn through everything, which made him shiver.

If he got caught, he would only get beaten up, so he ran even faster.

Not far along the winding path, they bumped into Ah-chan, who was running incredibly fast, as if he were riding on wheels of fire.

Immediately afterwards, a figure also holding a stick appeared behind Ah-Can.

It was Ah-Can's father.

At that moment, Feng Ye heard his father's voice: "Seventh Brother, help me stop this brat, Ah Ye."

"Don't worry, Third Brother, he won't get past me. Going out to sea during a typhoon, those two brats are truly lawless..."

Feng Jialing responded breathlessly, his face also filled with anger.

Feng Ye and A-Can quickly reunited, their eyes met, and they both smiled wryly.

There were enemies blocking the way ahead, pursuers behind, and no other roads.

The two were instantly caught in a dilemma.

"what to do?"

Ah-Can looked back at his father, who was radiating anger, and then at Feng Jiaqing, who was equally furious, and said helplessly.

"What else can we do but jump? Are we just going to wait to get beaten up?"

Feng Ye gritted his teeth and jumped down into the vegetable patch that was nearly two meters high next to him.

Seeing this, Ah-Can jumped down without hesitation.

The two stumbled and ran through the vegetable garden, the muddy soil making their steps heavy.

Feng Jiaqing and Feng Jialing were furious, but there was nothing they could do.

They stood at the edge of the vegetable patch, glaring angrily at the two men who were fleeing in a disheveled state.

"You two bastards, get back here!" Feng Jiaqing roared.

"We really know we were wrong, and we'll never do it again!"

Feng Ye replied, ignoring Feng Jiaqing and Feng Jialing who were still cursing behind him, and continued running with A-Can.

Once they had run far enough away that they could no longer hear the cursing, the two stopped to rest.

"Brother Ye, where do we go now?"

"We definitely can't go back. Let's find a place to hide first and go back later."

"It's still raining, and we're all soaked. It's not appropriate to go to someone else's house. How about we go on the boat?"

"We have no choice but to go to the boat; at least we can avoid the rain there."
