Chapter 306 Sailing to the Harbor

Feng Xuan didn't answer, shaking his head in refusal.

Upon hearing this, Du Guilan became somewhat anxious. She murmured a few times, wanting to speak but then remained silent.

"Take it. You have a share in the boat, and this money is rightfully yours."

Feng Ye insisted on stuffing the money into Feng Xuan's hand.

Feng Xuan sighed softly and put the money away: "Okay, I'll take it. But don't take any more risks in the future. I'd rather take a smaller share."

Feng Ye quickly replied, "No, this is enough."

He's said that countless times today.

He then inquired about the Harvest's voyage.

Feng Xuan explained the situation and sighed, "This typhoon really came at the worst possible time. We've made a wasted trip; you guys earned more today."

"That's normal. Most of the time is spent on the road, so there's not much time for trawling, and naturally, less money is earned."

"Yes, it takes more than ten hours to get the internet running. A round trip like that takes up a whole day."

"That's how it is when you're out at sea, otherwise why would it take seven or eight days or more?"

The two brothers chatted about their adventures at sea until the light drizzle stopped.

"The ship is still at the dock. I'll go see if we can sail to a safe harbor."

Feng Ye stood up and walked towards the door.

"I'll go with you."

Feng Xuan chased after him.

When the two brothers arrived at the dock, they saw that although the waves had shrunk a bit, they were still very turbulent.

The boat owners who had been waiting for who knows how long had also disappeared, but their boats were still moored at the dock, swaying and bobbing with the waves.

"Looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see."

Feng Ye shook his head and helplessly headed back home with Feng Xuan.

The next morning, after having breakfast, Feng Ye went straight to A-Can's house.

Today is a sunny day, with not a cloud in the sky and dazzling sunshine.

The weather is changing so fast that it's a bit confusing.

This doesn't look like a typhoon is about to hit.

However, this is a good thing for Feng Ye.

As long as the weather doesn't change today, the dried fish in his house will be almost dried and ready to be stored away.

Drying it at Ah Chan's house is a bit troublesome; it definitely won't dry completely, and it might all be a waste of effort.

There's nothing we can do; fate is against us, so we can only accept our bad luck.

Even so, we still have to try to save it.

Therefore, when he arrived at A-Can's house, he saw that all the dried fish had been laid out to dry.

Not seeing Ah-Can, I asked Aunt Ling and found out that he was still sleeping in.

He walked into Ah-chan's house as if he knew the way well.

Ah-chan was wearing only shorts, lying on his side on the boat with his legs bent and a blanket between his legs.

Feng Ye chuckled and slapped A-Can on the butt.

Ah-Can jolted awake from his dream, sat up abruptly, and said in a grumpy voice, "What are you doing?"

"Still sleeping? The sun's already high in the sky."

"Nothing much to do today, why get up so early?"

With that, Ah-Can lay down again.

Feng Ye slapped him again: "Wake up, get up now. The ship is still at the dock, we need to sail to a safe harbor."

"Oh right, I had forgotten about it if you hadn't mentioned it."

Ah-Can jumped up and quickly put on his clothes.

After washing up, he urged, "Let's go, let's set sail quickly."

"Aren't you going to eat breakfast?"

"Skipping one meal won't kill you, but getting the boat to a safe harbor is more important."

The two hurried to the dock and saw that the sea was much calmer than yesterday afternoon, and the boat could withstand it.

Apart from the Rising Sun, which was still bobbing up and down with the waves, there were no other fishing boats to be seen on the dock.

Feng Ye and A-Can quickly boarded the boat, started the engine, and headed towards the safe harbor.

On the way, Feng Ye recalled what happened yesterday afternoon and asked curiously, "Ah Can, did you run away yesterday?"

"With his old arms and legs, how could he possibly catch up with me?"

Ah-chan raised his eyebrows smugly.

So you didn't get hit?

"How could that be? I won't be able to vent my anger unless he beats me up."

Ah-Can's expression immediately fell, and he rolled up his trouser leg, pointing to several red and swollen marks, saying, "Look, these are all from my dad's beatings."

Feng Ye glanced at it and said, "It was a pretty bad beating; there are bruises all over."

"Who says otherwise? If my mother hadn't stopped her, she would have beaten me even harder."

Ah-Can sighed, "That old man is really heartless. I'm his only son."

Feng Ye joked, "When he gets old, we'll take good care of him and pull out his oxygen tube."

"That's right, pull out his oxygen tube. Haha..."

Ah-Can laughed so hard he almost fell over, but then he stopped laughing and said seriously, "Actually, I know he means well, he's just frustrated with me. By the way, Ye-ge, what about you? Did you run away?"

"Same as you, but my dad only hit me once, it was like a tickle."

"My third uncle is still soft-hearted, not as ruthless as my father."

"What? You think my dad didn't hit me hard enough?"

"Of course it's light. At the very least, you should have a few marks on your body, like me, right?"

"I'm breaking up with you. We can't work together anymore. You're too ruthless," Feng Ye said, feigning anger.

"There's no way we're breaking up. I'm sticking with you for life."

"Damn it, you're not my wife, why are you blaming me?"

Ah-Can winked and said, "Actually, I don't mind being a mistress..."

"You pervert, you dead gay, you disgust me. Ugh..."

Feng Ye gagged dramatically a few times.
