Chapter 329 Are our dried fish really that good?

Around 2 a.m., the Rising Sun arrived at the county's fishing wharf.

Anticipating that it would be difficult to call a tractor in the early morning, they brought a handcart instead.

After spending some more time moving things around, they finally pushed a cart full of dried fish toward the seafood market.

By the time they arrived at the trading market, it was already past 2:30.

The market had already opened, and even merchants had entered.

The market was bustling with activity and filled with lively chatter—a truly vibrant scene.

If they're here to sell goods, it might be a bit late, but since they're just delivering goods for storage, it doesn't matter if it's late or not.

I borrowed a small cart from the market and made several trips before I finally managed to move all the dried fish into shop number 13.

"Damn, I'm exhausted. Let's rest for a while before we go out to sea to fish again."

Feng Ye didn't mind the dirt on the ground and sat down on it.

The shop was empty except for the dried fish that had just been brought in; the only place to sit was on the floor.

As for dried fish, you can't sit on it.

The freshly dried fish is very crispy.

If you were to sit down on it, countless dried fish would crumble into pieces.

"My legs are numb, they don't feel like my own anymore."

Ah-chan also sat down, clenching his fists and gently pounding his legs.

"I can collect nearly a thousand kilograms of dried fish during the day, and I have to make another trip tomorrow night. Sigh, it's so hard to make money."

"The weather's been pretty good these past few days, so how about we skip tomorrow night and bring over a larger batch later?"

Feng Ye said irritably, "I'd like to too, but I'm afraid it might suddenly start pouring rain, then everything will be ruined. You don't want to end up with nothing, do you?"

"Too."

Ah-Can nodded, "The weather changes so quickly, the weather forecast is never accurate, so we can only keep running around every day."

"Let's arrange a tractor later and have him wait for us at the dock at 2 a.m. tomorrow. I don't want to push this cart anymore; it's too tiring."

"That's great, it won't cost much," Ah-Can said with delight.

"Isn't money meant to be spent? Let's go, let's get a tractor."

The two locked the shop door and turned to leave when they heard a voice behind them: "So it really is you!"

The two turned around and saw Xu Shaoping.

Feng Ye pointed to himself: "Boss Xu, were you calling us?"

"Hmm, when I saw you carrying all those bags and packages into the shop, I thought I was seeing things, so I came over to take a look."

Xu Shaoping smiled and asked curiously, "You've dried another batch of fish."

"Yes, it got a bit sunburnt."

"I think it's more than just a little. I've seen you make several trips to move it."

"It looks like a lot, but it's all about substance, it's all weighty."

"Boss Feng, you're lying through your teeth! Do you think I don't know the weight of dried fish? You probably dried no less than 1,000 jin this time, right?"

Feng Ye gave a thumbs up: "Boss Xu has a keen eye; he can even see that."

"I wouldn't dare say that, I've just seen it all before. Are you leaving and not planning to sell?"

"No time, we're in a hurry to go out to sea."

Xu Shaoping shook his head: "That's a pity. Quite a few people have been asking me about you these past two days."

"Oh, really?"

Feng Ye and A-Can exchanged a glance, both feeling somewhat puzzled.

"Didn't you deliver some dried fish a few days ago? The dried fish vendors at the market saw it and wanted to buy some from you. Since they couldn't find anyone from you, they came to me instead."

"Do market vendors buy their goods from us?"

Feng Ye was surprised.

"Yes, your products have a good reputation, and many people are looking for them, so the vendors naturally know about them too."

"This is outrageous!"

"They do retail, you do wholesale, what's so outrageous about that?"

"No, are our dried fish really that good?"

Feng Ye was very suspicious.

They didn't have any special recipe; it was just a very ordinary pickling and drying process.

Anyone living by the sea can dry fish of the same quality.

But what's going on with this situation?

"I don't know either, but that's what they told me. They even asked me about your wholesale prices. If you really want to know, you might as well wait here."

"this……"

Feng Ye hesitated.

They had planned to go out to sea, but this wait will waste more than three hours, enough time to haul in a net.

"Please think about it. I have a customer who went into my shop, so I have to go back."

Although Xu Shaoping was physically present, he kept a close eye on the situation at his own shop.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Xu."

"No need to thank me, we're all doing business here, just helping each other out."

After Xu Shaoping finished speaking, he jogged back to the shop.

Feng Ye looked at A-Can: "What are you thinking?"

"Why don't we wait until morning and see if what Mr. Xu said is true?"

Ah-chan was also a little undecided.

After a moment of contemplation, Feng Ye finally made up his mind: "Alright, let's wait and see. If some vendors are willing to buy our goods, then we won't need to set aside time specifically to sell them."

"If it's true, that would be great. We won't have to worry about selling our dried fish."

Ah-Can nodded excitedly.

The two went outside the market and arranged for a tractor to be used.

Then they went back into the market, opened a shop, went inside, sat down on the floor, and chatted idly.

Time passed second by second, and the flow of people in the market came and went, wave after wave.

The sounds of hawking and bargaining rose and fell, creating a lively atmosphere.
