The tide had just begun to recede, and the reef area was not yet fully exposed; only a few small patches were visible, while most of it remained submerged underwater.
They could only squeeze into a small area with the others and wait for the tide to recede.
"Ah Ye, you're here too?"
A middle-aged man uttered a nonsensical statement.
Feng Ye turned his head and saw a man named Wang Changjiang from the village, who was related to his family.
Because Wang Changjiang's wife was Xiao Chunxiu's cousin beyond the fifth degree of kinship, although they weren't very close, he still had to call her "uncle."

Ye Qingling looked over upon hearing this.
Aunt Lu left with her bucket, seemingly unwilling but helpless, while Aunt Zhu, who had won the verbal battle, gained ownership of the oyster shell.
Ye Qingling exclaimed in surprise, "Aunt Zhu really did win the argument!"
“As expected,” Feng Ye said. “Alright, we’ve seen the excitement, it’s time for us to go look for our things.”
As he spoke, he pulled Ye Qingling along and walked forward.
They walked and stopped frequently, and after more than half an hour, they hadn't found much at all.
There were just too many people. Often, as soon as someone saw something of slightly higher value, several other people would see it at the same time, and then they would start arguing and fighting over it.
He was unwilling to get angry with people over such a small thing, so naturally he didn't gain much.

Ye Qingling nodded: "Yeah, I think so too. We might as well go dig for clams at Mom's place."
"Let's go then."
Holding Ye Qingling's hand, the two walked back and soon left the reef area, finding Xiao Chunxiu on the beach.
"Mother, sister-in-law."
The two shouted something.
"Why didn't you pick them up?"
Xiao Chunxiu looked up for a moment, then continued swinging the sand shovel.
Because she and Du Guilan had to look after the children, they could only dig for clams on the beach where the waves didn't reach.
Feng Ye said helplessly, "There are too many people, I won't be able to find anything, I'm going back first."
"Mom, let me help you dig."
Ye Qingling took a sand shovel out of the bucket and started swinging it on the beach.
"Take Anan with you when you go back, so you won't have to keep an eye on him."
Of the three children, only Feng Yanmei was well-behaved and could still follow Du Guilan to dig for clams.
Feng Xidong and Feng Xinan are no good; all they do is play games.
Feng Xidong was alright; after all, he was nine years old and understood a little bit about things. He knew that the waves shouldn't be too big, he shouldn't get too close to the waves, and he definitely shouldn't go into the sea.
