"Haven't you noticed? You might be getting another brother-in-law."
"What? You mean Ah-Can and Ah-Yu..."
Ye Qingling was surprised, "They've hit it off?"
"Yes, it's them."
Feng Ye nodded, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes.
Ye Qingling was taken aback: "You've been away from home for days, how did you know?"
"Hehe, he tells me everything about my relationship with A-Can. He was already having designs on A-Yu the first time he met her."
Feng Ye gave a meaningful smile. "He wanted you to make the introduction, but I persuaded him against it."
"Good lad, I was wondering why he always sidled up to A-Yu whenever he came to help out at the workshop, and would always find topics to chat with her about. So it was all premeditated!"
Ye Qingling suddenly realized, then frowned, "But, Ayu is still so young, isn't it too early?"
"Age is not a problem. She won't lose out by marrying Ah-chan, and she'll definitely be set for life."
"That's true. With you as my brother-in-law, A-Can wouldn't dare to bully A-Yu."
"Let nature take its course. Whether it succeeds or not is up to them. We shouldn't interfere."
"Um."
"By the way, how's Ah Yu doing lately? Is she settling in well at the workshop?"
"She's great, she picks things up quickly, and she's hardworking. With her around, I have so much less to do."
"That's good."
Feng Ye nodded. "Let's go to the workshop now and prepare the goods to be sent to the guesthouse."
"Oh dear, I was so busy talking to you that I forgot the time. The workshop is still waiting for the money to buy the fish."
Ye Qingling slapped her forehead and quickly got up.
"What's the rush? Someone's coming to sell fish, just tell them to wait."
"That won't do; we can't keep them waiting."
She said as she walked towards the door.
Feng Ye smiled and shook his head, then followed her out the door.
"You should talk to your sister-in-law about buying the big ship first and see what she thinks. I'll talk to A-Can about it."
"Okay. When will you go to the shipyard again?"
"If it's confirmed, I'll make a trip there after delivering the dried fish tomorrow."
"Should we make a decision tomorrow?"
"We haven't discussed the specific requirements and price yet, so how can we decide? Let's go take a look first. If it's suitable, we can pay the deposit next time to avoid any unforeseen problems."
As they walked and talked, they passed the dock and saw that many fishing boats had already docked and were unloading their catch.
On the sea outside, even more fishing boats are sailing towards the dock.
Their ship, the Rising Sun, has also returned and is quietly anchored.
There was no one on the boat, so it had obviously been docked for some time.
When they arrived at the workshop, they indeed saw Ah Can, who was chatting and laughing with Ye Qingyu as they killed fish.
Feng Ye nudged Ye Qingling and pointed, "See that?"
"You don't need to tell me, I saw it a long time ago."
Ye Qingling rolled her eyes at him, then quickly took two steps and joined in the fish-killing work.
Feng Ye then shouted, "Ah Can, come here, I have something to tell you."
Ah-Can looked up at the sound and said with surprise, "Brother Ye, you're back! What's up?"
He quickly wiped his hands and walked over with a smile.
Feng Ye patted him on the shoulder: "Come on, let's go to the warehouse and talk while we work."
Upon arriving at the warehouse, Feng Ye first explained the dried fish order to him, and then asked him to help him weigh and pack the fish separately according to variety.
Immediately afterwards, he briefly explained the matter of buying a large ship to Ah-chan and asked for his opinion.
Upon hearing this, Ah-Can's eyes lit up, and he expressed his willingness to invest without hesitation.
"I knew you would agree."
Feng Ye smiled and said, "Then it's settled. After delivering the dried fish tomorrow, let's go to the shipyard together to take another look."
Ah-Can nodded vigorously, his face full of anticipation. "That's great, Brother Ye! We should have gotten a bigger ship a long time ago so we could make more money. I still need to get married."
Feng Ye couldn't help but laugh out loud, teasing, "You've saved up quite a bit of money by now, haven't you? What, not enough to get married? How much dowry are you planning to give?"
"This is not something I can decide; it depends on what A-Yu's parents want."
Ah-Can chuckled, "However, I need to prepare more in case I don't have enough and have to borrow from others. Also, I want to build a new house."
"Oh, you also want to build a house? Where are you planning to build it? How about building it here too?"
"I wanted to build it here so it would be more convenient for everything."
"Then let's build it. We'll get the land approved by the village and start construction."
"The paperwork has already been submitted."
"Now we need to buy a boat and build a house. If you don't have enough money, just let me know."
"I don't need it for now. If I really need it, I won't be polite and I'll definitely ask you to lend it to me."
Afterwards, the two chatted about their experiences at sea over the past few days.
Ah-Can, Feng Jia-Qing, and Feng Jia-Ling still deliver dried fish every day, and then go out to sea to dive and catch sea urchins. Their daily catch is quite good.
The sea urchins in that area were indeed ridiculously plentiful; they had been catching them for so many days and still hadn't finished.
But it's almost over; in another two or three days, we'll have finished catching them all.
After weighing the dried fish and setting it aside, they went to clean the fish.
We harvested quite a lot of fish today, over 10,000 jin (5,000 kg).
The main shipment still comes from the boat in town, which delivers about 10,000 jin every day.
The fish sent from their village, as well as the other three villages on the island, were not many, totaling less than 5,000 catties.
Most fishermen want to earn more money, so they dry the fish themselves.
I was busy until very late, and didn't finish processing the last fish until after midnight.
