Chapter 448 Lots of Blue Crabs

Back in the waters outside Dongtou Village, you can see crowds of people gathering seafood on the beach from afar.

The tide is already receding, but it won't reach its lowest point until around 6:30.

Today, the tide was quite high, receding to a relatively low level, which naturally attracted a large number of people.

"Brother Ye, shall we go fishing together later?"

Feng Ye was somewhat tempted, but after thinking about it, she declined.

"Go if you want, I won't go. I need to make a nest for them."

"Okay, I'll go by myself later."

After the boat docked, the two parted ways; Ah-chan went back to get his bucket and tools.

Feng Ye carried chickens and ducks, and held the little black dog as he walked along the beach back to his new home.

No one was home, the doors were locked, and even the workshop was closed.

He guessed that Ye Qingling and the others had also gone to the beach.

I stood at the entrance and looked towards the beach, but there were just too many people, so I couldn't see it.

Luckily he had his keys with him, otherwise we would have had to go looking for them.

He put the puppy down, let the chicks and ducks out, opened the door, grabbed his tools, and got to work.

The chicks and ducklings were quite timid; once released, they huddled in the corner, chirping and chattering.

The little black dog, on the other hand, was very excited, running around and sniffing everywhere in the house and yard.

After building the house, there were some extra bricks, just enough to build a kennel for each of the chickens, ducks, and dogs.

The chicken and duck coop should be placed in a corner near the workshop. One coop is enough. It should be made of red bricks and covered with a wooden board.

The only problem is that the craftsmanship isn't very good; the stacking looks rather ugly.

But it doesn't matter, as long as it doesn't collapse.

As for the doghouse, he built it inside the workshop.

This dog was originally bought to guard the workshop, so naturally it has to live inside the workshop.

In addition, he also dug a dog hole next to the side door to make it easier for the dog to come in and out.

The two nests were built in no time; they were finished before it even got dark.

Feng Ye played with the little black dog for a while, and seeing that Ye Qingling and the others had not returned yet, he thought he would also go to the beach.

Moreover, the tide hasn't completely receded yet, so it's not too late to go now.

Anyway, we're just sitting around doing nothing, and there's not much work to do in the workshop for the time being.

Without hesitation, he found a bucket, put his tools such as tongs, a small shovel, a net, and a snakeskin bag inside, and put on a headlamp before heading out.

I hadn't taken more than two steps when the little black dog that had been frolicking nearby caught up with me.

"You little rascal, you're quite clingy."

Feng Ye picked it up, turned around, went back inside, and locked it in the house.

This dog is too young; I dare not take it to go beachcombing.

He locked the door again and walked alone toward the beach.

The rocky area was packed with people, all hoping to try their luck.

He decided to check out the less crowded beach area.

The beach is mostly filled with women and children, and most of them are digging for clams, so there is relatively less competition.

After walking several hundred meters, we finally arrived at the area where the tide had just receded.

As soon as he arrived, he saw a conch shell being carried by the tide and rolling into the sea.

He quickly jogged forward and stepped on it to stop it.

"I'm lucky, I found a pretty good conch shell as soon as I arrived."

Feng Ye happily picked it up and threw it into the bucket.

The fun of beachcombing lies not in the value of what you find, but in whether you have a harvest and how much you have.

He followed the tide, picking up trash along the way, the bucket occasionally jingling and clanging.

I picked up a lot of things, but they weren't very valuable.

As he walked, he noticed the traces left by the cat's eye snail.

Based on the direction of these traces, he quickly located a slightly raised sand mound.

With a few swings of the small shovel, it was dug out in no time.

It really is a cat's eye snail.

Whoever finds a cat's eye snail can't help but squeeze the exposed flesh; it's quite stress-relieving.

Feng Ye was no exception.

Wash off the sand stuck to the cat's eye snail meat, squeeze it tightly, and a fine stream of water will splash out.

I shook my head with a smile; the cat's eye snail's reaction was truly amusing.

He tossed the cat's eye snails into the bucket and continued his beachcombing adventure.

"Brother Ye, what brings you here?"

Ah-chan's voice suddenly rang out from behind.

Feng Ye turned around and saw A-Can carrying a bucket, his face beaming with an irrepressible smile.

He immediately asked curiously, "Look at you smiling so brightly, what good stuff did you find?"

As he spoke, he peeked at the bucket that Ah-Can was carrying.

"Hehe, this is really good stuff."

Ah-Can proudly took the snakeskin bag out of the bucket, revealing a large blue crab underneath.

A while ago, someone caught a four-and-a-half-pound blue crab while beachcombing, and the one he caught today is not much different.

Feng Ye exclaimed in surprise, "This crab is so big, it must weigh at least four pounds!"

"About four pounds and one or two ounces."

Where was it caught?

"Over there in the reef area."

"There's a lot of goods over there, but there are just too many people."

"Who says otherwise? I wandered around there for a long time and only caught this one blue crab."

Ah-Can said with a hint of helplessness, "I came over here to take a look since I couldn't find anything else to pick up."

Feng Ye shook his head and laughed, "Having one big blue crab is enough. I just picked up some small trinkets here."

Ah-Can curiously leaned over and peered into his bucket: "There's quite a lot of stuff here."

Then, as if reciting a familiar list, he read, "Clams, whelks, cat's-eye snails, scallops, mussels..."

"Stop reading, let's go, let's walk a little further, the tide will recede for another half hour or so before it reaches the bottom."

By now, it was getting dark, so Feng Ye turned on his headlamp.

Ah-chan was prepared and brought a headlamp.

Feng Ye and A-Can continued forward, their headlamps flashing in the night, slowly following the tide deeper into the night.

Suddenly, they noticed a faint splashing sound in the seawater.

Ah-Can asked, somewhat puzzled, "What's that sound? It sounds a bit strange."

Feng Ye stopped and listened carefully for a while, then said softly, "It sounds like something is making a sound in the water. Let's go take a look."

Following the direction from which the sound came, he jogged forward a few steps, shone his headlamp on it, and was immediately surprised by what he saw.

"Holy crap, so many swimming crabs!"

The splashing sound was made by swimming crabs, which were crawling towards a small pile of pebbles on the beach with the tide.

Ah-Can ran over too, and was overjoyed when he saw it: "So many crabs..."

"Hurry up, stop talking and catch them. There are so many of them, they're packed together. I thought they were something else."

Crabs like to come ashore during high tide, but only during high tide, usually near the rocks on the shore.

It's quite rare to see someone run ashore while the tide is still going out.

However, the ocean is vast and boundless, and anything can happen; it's not surprising.
