Chapter 478 The Ship Capsized

"Wait, Brother Ye, look! Why does one of the boats seem to have stopped moving?"

"What?"

Feng Ye immediately looked over again.

Sure enough, one of the lights stopped and stopped moving forward.

That boat was at the very back of the column, with only one other boat behind it.

The boats ahead of them didn't notice this and continued on their way, until the last boat finally came close.

Ah-Can guessed, "Is that boat malfunctioning?"

Feng Ye nodded in agreement: "But it's very possible, otherwise why would it stop moving for no reason?"

"It's too far, and it's dark, I can't see anything..."

"Do you really want to drive right up to them and stare at them openly?"

Ah-chan shook his head and denied it, saying, "I didn't have that thought..."

It's impossible to get close; there are at least two ships over there, and we don't know how many people are on board. It would be bad if a misunderstanding occurred.

"That's settled then. Anyway, there will be rescuers, so we don't need to worry about it."

Feng Ye glanced at the watch he had bought before the Lunar New Year and realized it was already past 5:30.

Then he said, "It's almost time. Let's sail the boat to where the shrimp traps are set, and then we can put them in right after we've hauled in the trawl net."

"Oh, okay."

Ah-Can glanced at the stopped boat again, then stopped thinking about it and adjusted his course.

The Rising Sun, pulling its trawl net, slowly sailed away.

Enjoy the spectacle, but don't let it interfere with your livelihood.

As the sky began to lighten, visibility on the sea gradually improved.

After resting for a night, the seabirds came out to forage again, screeching and circling above the sea.

As dawn broke, the Rising Sun arrived at its destination.

They also got busy, bringing the trawl nets back to the boat from the sea.

As Feng Ye had predicted, the first haul was extremely ordinary, with nothing of note.

After all, it had been almost a month since we last went out to sea.

Moreover, due to the late spring cold snap, the seawater temperature is still relatively low, and the fish have basically not yet started their migration.

After the trawl net was brought in, the two of them didn't pay attention to it for the time being, and instead busied themselves with moving the shrimp traps out and putting them into the sea.

Then, they continued sailing to the next destination to lay the nets.

After all that busy work, most of the morning was gone.

"Brother Ye, what happened to that ship afterward?"

Ah-chan was trawling his boat, his eyes fixed on Treasure Island.

However, the distance was too far, and even Treasure Island looked very small, let alone the ship.

Even if you stay in the same place, it's impossible to see you.

Feng Ye shrugged: "Who knows? It might have been repaired and caught up with the main force, or it might have been towed away by other ships."

"How about we sail over and check if it's still there?"

Ah-chan suggested.

He simply couldn't suppress his curiosity.

"Alright."

Feng Ye thought about it and agreed.

He then added, "If the boat is still there, don't get too close. Just take a look from a distance. After all, those people aren't good people, so it's best if we're careful."

"I see."

Ah-chan responded, then adjusted the direction of the Rising Sun, slowly sailing towards the Treasure Island work area.

As the distance gradually decreased, the outline of Treasure Island became clearer and clearer.

And there really was a ship on the sea outside Treasure Island.

Without a doubt, it must be the ship that stopped moving forward in the early morning.

However, the ship looks very strange.

It wasn't sitting quietly on the sea; the ship was tilted at an angle of more than 45 degrees.

Moreover, the stern of the ship was already submerged in the seawater, with only the bow sticking up above the water.

The boat capsized!

Both of them were surprised to see this.

"Holy crap, did this ship hit a reef?"

"The ship was located in an area with reefs, and it was tilted like this, so it probably crashed into one."

The tide has come in, and the reef is now hidden underwater and out of sight. The two can only determine the approximate location of the reef based on their memory.

"Tsk tsk, this ship is really unlucky. All the ships in front have passed by, but it just happened to crash into them."

There was a hint of schadenfreude in Ah-chan's tone.

"They were probably traveling this route for the first time and were unfamiliar with the conditions at sea, which is why this happened."

Feng Ye's guess is reasonable.

Smuggling ships often need to change their routes; they can't stay on a fixed route, as that would make them too easy for the authorities to track and crack down on.

It must have been the people surveying the route who were so careless. Of all the routes to take, they had to choose one that led right through the reef area.

It must be said, this is a sad story.

Ah-Can thought about it and agreed.

They had been operating in this area for several months without seeing any smuggling fleets; this was the first time they had encountered such a situation.

"Luckily, this boat wasn't the last one, otherwise the people on board would have been in big trouble. Even if they managed to swim to the island, they would have been in serious trouble in this cold weather."

"Hmm, it looks like the people and cargo on this ship have all been transferred to the ship behind it, leaving only this ship to sink here."

"Brother Ye, shall we go take a look?"

"What's so interesting about an empty ship?"

Feng Ye shook his head, rejecting the idea.

"Oh, okay."

Ah-Can said with some regret.

Just as he was about to turn his gaze away and sail away, he suddenly noticed something floating on the shore of Treasure Island.

"Brother Ye, look! There's something on the shore, it looks like a cardboard box."
