"That's great! Uncle San and the others have arrived. We can start earning more money from tomorrow."
Ah-chan said happily.
Feng Ye grunted in agreement, then said, "I'll go find Boss Jiang to come and collect the goods. You guys stay on the ship and keep an eye on things."
Without waiting for Ah-chan's reply, he turned around and jumped off the boat.
When he returned, a very familiar ship was moored next to the Rising Sun.
Feng Ye counted; besides his father and Xiao Guowen, there were five other people.
One of them was his cousin from his maternal uncle's side, named Xiao Yunhu.
The other two were his sister-in-law's brothers, whom he had met before.
The last two were an old man and a young man. Only after hearing how Ah-Can addressed them did we realize that they were Ah-Can's uncle and son.
All seven people looked excitedly at Feng Ye and his group's catch that day, and their discussions were endless.
"These baskets of fish are way too many!"
"Tsk tsk, I just counted, a total of 85 baskets."
"I also took a look, and they were mostly small yellow croakers, not many other kinds of fish."
"Did we encounter a school of fish, or are there just a lot of fish here all the time?"
"It's not a school of fish, there are just that many small yellow croakers here. We've been catching just this many fish these past few days."
Ah-Can said proudly, "However, speaking of fish, we did encounter a school of skinned fish the day before yesterday."
"Can you guess how many we caught in one fell swoop? I bet you can't guess."
Upon hearing this, everyone hurriedly offered various numbers, but they were all rather conservative.
None of them dared to guess too high; most guessed around a thousand jin.
Feng Jiaqing also happily joined in.
Compared to others, he understood better how skilled Feng Ye and his team were at fishing.
Therefore, he quoted a number that he thought was large enough.
However, they are still far apart.
He guessed it was 1500 jin (750 catties).
"Haha, I told you you wouldn't have guessed!"
Ah-chan laughed triumphantly.
"Stop keeping me in suspense, just tell me."
"Yeah, hurry up and tell me."
Everyone is urging us on, eagerly awaiting the answer.
"You might not believe it, but we caught over 2,400 jin in one net."
Upon hearing this answer, everyone was stunned and shocked.
Xiao Guowen even repeated himself in disbelief, "Over 2400 jin? You're not kidding, are you?"
Ah-Can pouted: "Why would I lie to you guys?"
Holy crap, it really exists?
Seeing Ah-chan's confident expression, everyone finally began to believe him.
Feng Ye walked over and said, "What A-Can said is true, but it's not that exaggerated. That's the total weight of the filefish collected in a day."
"If we're talking about that one net, the weight is estimated to be around 2200 jin (1100 catties)."
Xiao Yunhu exclaimed in surprise, "2200 jin? That's almost right!"
Xiao Guowen said, "Come on, tell us about your experiences these past few days."
Others chimed in, urging them to say something.
There was no need to hide anything, so Feng Ye and A Can started talking back and forth.
When they heard that each haul yielded several hundred kilograms of fish, everyone was shocked once again.
Xiao Guowen, in particular, was slapping his thigh and muttering something to himself, though it was unclear what he was saying.
Feng Ye listened carefully and realized that the person was cursing his own father.
He thought about it for a moment and then he understood.
This place is making so much money, while Xiao Zhaojun is drifting somewhere with the Harvest Ship.
But no matter what, it can't compare to making money fishing here.
If you don't earn anything, it's the same as losing money.
No wonder Xiao Guowen was cursing and swearing.
His family owns the majority of the business on the Harvest ship.
Feng Ye and A-Can's stories made everyone who had just arrived incredibly eager to go out to sea and fish.
Feng Jiaqing goes without saying; he earned money for his son without complaint or regret.
For others, their wages include a 1% commission.
The more Feng Ye and his team earn, the higher their commission will be.
Although the fish caught today haven't been sold yet, Feng Ye and A-Can have already told them the price per unit.
A rough calculation would yield a price of around 2,600 to 2,700 yuan.
In other words, they will each receive a commission of twenty or thirty yuan per day from now on.
This is much higher than a fixed monthly wage of 150 yuan.
After selling the goods, seeing the wad of cash in Feng Ye's hand, everyone felt an even greater surge of excitement.
"Sigh, the price of yellow croaker has dropped by another 3 cents today. It's fallen so drastically that I've lost more than a hundred yuan."
Ah-chan sighed.
Feng Ye shared the same sentiment, but others found his words incredibly offensive.
"Damn it, you're just talking without understanding the situation."
Xiao Guowen gritted his teeth and said, "It's already 2762 yuan, and you still think it's not enough?"
Xiao Yunhu's eyes widened: "That's right, we can't earn this much money even if we work hard for a year, but you earn it in a day. What's there to be dissatisfied about?"
Others chimed in with agreement.
Everyone had the urge to go up and beat Ah-Can up.
"Hey, you guys don't know, we could sell it for 58 cents when we first came here, then we lowered it by one cent the day before yesterday, and now it's gone down again..."
"Damn it, let him show off, beat him up."
Xiao Guowen shouted and went up to knock A-Can down.
"Holy crap, you're serious..."
Ah-Can was startled and immediately took off running.
