In the early hours of the morning, Feng Ye was woken up while still asleep.
He opened his eyes and, by the light shining through the cabin door, saw Xiao Guowen, who was dressed neatly, standing beside him.
"Brother Wen, you're up so early?"
"Still early? It's almost two o'clock."
Xiao Guowen said irritably, then asked, "Where's the driver's seat key?"
Feng Ye, still half asleep, pointed to the clothes beside him: "In the pocket."
Xiao Guowen felt around on his clothes and found the key.
"Alright, you can go back to sleep."
With that, he turned and left the cabin.
Feng Ye closed his eyes again, but after the diesel engine roared for a while, he suddenly jolted awake and opened his eyes again.
Looking to the side, apart from Ah-chan who was still snoring loudly, everyone else was gone.
Damn, it's like I'm the boss!
How come the people working for others are more motivated than me?
He jumped up, dressed, and went out of the cabin. When he got to the wheelhouse, he saw that all three people were there.
Xiao Guowen was seen steering the boat, while Xiao Yunhu and Du Minhui watched intently from the side, learning how to sail.
Although they got up early, they were all full of energy and not sleepy at all.
They looked quite smug and ambitious, as if they were ready to make a big splash.
He turned his head and looked ahead, where it was his own other ship leading the way.
Without a doubt, Feng Jialing was the one steering the boat.
"Hey, Ah Ye, why are you up?"
Feng Ye rubbed his eyes and yawned: "I was woken up by your enthusiasm."
Xiao Guowen laughed and said, "Haha, I think you're just worried, aren't you?"
"With Uncle Ling leading the way, what do I have to worry about, unless you deliberately lose track of me?"
"Don't worry, I won't sell you."
Xiao Yunhu joked, "He's not a woman, so no one would want him even if you tried to sell him."
Du Minhui joked, "There will still be someone who wants him. With his fair and clean appearance, he's sure to attract rich women."
The group burst into laughter.
Feng Ye glared at them: "Damn, how do I look like a gigolo?"
"You look just like her from head to toe. Look at all the people who go out to sea, you're even whiter than the average girl."
After Xiao Guowen finished speaking, he turned to the other two and asked, "Don't you agree?"
Xiao Yunhu looked Feng Ye up and down and said, "You know what, he is indeed too pale."
Du Minhui nodded: "Yeah, if it weren't for her square face, people would mistake her for a woman."
One mouth can't out-argue three mouths.
Feng Ye decided to stop arguing and try a different approach.
So he shrugged and said, "Fine, a gigolo it is. Then hurry up and find me a rich woman. I'm a freeloader."
"Ideally, she'd be young, beautiful, and rich. That way, I wouldn't have to keep striving; it would be so much better to just relax."
"Holy crap, you're actually breathing heavily now?"
Xiao Guowen rolled his eyes. "How about I find you a seventy or eighty-year-old woman?"
"Well, it's not impossible. As long as the money is right, I don't care how old she is."
All three of them were speechless at his shamelessness.
Xiao Guowen waved his hand, as if shooing away a fly: "Get out, get out, we don't need you here."
"I'm going back to sleep."
Feng Ye turned and took a step, then turned back and said, "Don't forget to find me a rich woman."
Xiao Guowen roared, "Get out!"
Feng Ye stepped into the cabin with triumphant strides.
You little punks, we can't handle you.
I took off the clothes I had just put on, crawled into bed, and continued to sleep with a clear conscience.
Xiao Guowen had been on the Harvest for several months, so he was quite at ease knowing that sailing the ship was not a problem.
Inside the cabin, Feng Ye quickly drifted off to sleep again.
Meanwhile, on the sea outside, two ships sailed one after the other, cutting through the waves in the night.
When I woke up again, it was already daylight.
Feng Ye glanced around and realized that A-Can was gone, leaving him all alone.
However, I slept really well that night.
He hadn't slept this soundly in seven or eight days.
Having more people around is great; you can even get more sleep and more restful sleep, instead of having to sleep and wake up frequently.
He stretched, got up, dressed, and went out of the cabin.
A sea breeze blew in my face, carrying the salty smell of the sea and the coolness of the morning.
He took a deep breath and felt much more energetic.
"Ah Can, you rascal, you didn't even wake me up."
As Feng Ye spoke, he looked towards the stern of the boat and saw Ah Can instructing Xiao Yunhu and Du Minhui on how to haul in the net.
Neither of them owned a boat, nor did they have much experience fishing at sea.
The work on the ship isn't difficult; it's easy to learn.
Therefore, when he asked his father to find someone, he did not require that the person must be experienced.
"You're sleeping like a log. I called you several times but you didn't respond, so I'll just let you sleep a little longer."
Ah-Can answered without looking up, his hands still busy with his teaching.
Feng Ye smiled, quickly washed up, and then went to the stern to help.
By this time, the tow line had been almost completely retrieved, and the net bag carrying a large catch slowly surfaced.
Immediately, Xiao Yunhu and Du Minhui began shouting and yelling.
"My goodness, there are so many fish!..."
"How many kilograms did this net yield? We're rich..."
Hearing the commotion behind him from the driver's seat, Xiao Guowen turned around, eager to ask, "How many? How many?"
"So many, all small yellow croakers, a whole net full of them, gleaming gold."
