The two ships circled Island No. 2 from two different directions.
After they met, the two ships docked together.
Feng Ye asked, "Father, Uncle Ling, how many did you catch?"
"Around 300 jin (150 catties), what about you?"
"It's pretty much the same. At first, each net could yield 20 to 30 kilograms, but later it became less and less."
"Yes, this squid school is actually quite large, but unfortunately not many stay to lay eggs; most of them have swum forward."
"I think it's alright, considering we've already caught about 800 jin..."
As they were chatting, Ah-Can suddenly interrupted, saying, "Stop talking, I'm going to open the box."
Immediately following were several crisp metallic clanging sounds.
Ah-Can was already holding a sledgehammer and impatiently smashing the lock on one of the boxes.
The broken lock also didn't last more than a few rounds before being smashed to pieces and falling onto the deck.
"Wait, we're coming right away."
As soon as Feng Ye turned around, he saw that he had broken the lock and quickly shouted.
He also wanted to see what was in the box as soon as possible.
"Then hurry up."
"They're here, they're here."
Ah-Can waited until they all came over before he lifted the lid of the box.
When they saw what was inside the box, they were all stunned; it was completely unexpected.
They never expected that the box would contain glass cups.
Moreover, most of them were broken into shards of glass, with only two or three remaining intact.
"Holy crap, am I seeing things?"
Ah-Can rubbed his eyes in disbelief, thinking he was hallucinating.
Feng Ye was also dumbfounded, not expecting such an outcome.
Feng Jiaqing and Feng Jialing performed similarly.
This is unexpected, so unexpected.
Although there was already a chest of gold, silver, ingots, and jewels, I didn't have high expectations for the next four chests, but the result was even more surprising than the empty chests.
No one would associate a glass with a precious item.
Can a glass cup really be a treasure?!
Feng Jiaqing reached out and picked up a shard of glass, examined it, and confirmed, "It really is glass."
"When I pulled it up, I heard a noise inside. I thought it was porcelain or something, but I didn't expect it to be glass."
Ah-Can shook his head. "I really don't understand. What's so special about hiding a box of glasses? And hiding it in a secret compartment with gold and silver, as if it's some kind of valuable treasure?"
Feng Ye also took out a piece to look at and found that it was not colorless and transparent, but rather had a faint green color and was only semi-transparent.
"Nowadays, glass cups are certainly worthless, but in ancient times they were very precious and rare treasures."
"This ship has been sunk at the bottom of the sea for who knows how many years, maybe even several hundred years..."
After hearing his remarks, all three of them nodded involuntarily, finding them to make sense.
"So, you could call this an antique?"
Ah-Can's eyes lit up, as if he had discovered a new continent. "Since it's an antique, it must be worth a lot of money, right?"
Feng Ye shook his head, pouring cold water on his enthusiasm: "You're overthinking it. It is an antique, but it is still glass after all."
"So, this box of glasses is worthless?"
Ah-chan's face was full of disappointment.
"What's it worth? Just a box of junk. Luckily, I wasn't expecting to get anything good anyway."
Feng Ye disdainfully tossed the shard of glass back into the box, making a crisp "snap" sound.
"So you threw it away?"
"Of course! What would we do with it? Take up space?"
Upon hearing this, Feng Jiaqing quickly stopped him, saying, "No, aren't there a few good ones? Keep those ones."
"What's the point of keeping it? Just throw it all away. If you really want it, just buy a set; it won't cost much."
With a "snap," Feng Ye slammed the lid shut, picked up the box, and threw it into the sea.
Feng Jiaqing glared at him: "You good-for-nothing."
"It's just a few cups, so what if we throw them away? There's nothing to regret."
Feng Jialing chuckled and offered a word of advice.
Feng Ye ignored it.
People at this time are used to being frugal. They can't bear to throw away anything, not even if it's broken or tattered, let alone something that's perfectly intact.
Just like the clothes we wear, we sew them for three years, patch them for three years, and then patch them up again for another three years.
Despite being covered in patches, and patches upon patches, they couldn't bear to throw them away and continued to wear them.
He turned around, picked up a hammer from the deck, and smashed it against the lock of another box.
Upon seeing this, Ah-Can perked up again: "There are still three boxes left. Hopefully, we can get some good stuff from them."
Feng Jiaqing, however, was more cautious: "You've already opened one chest of gold and silver, so don't have too high expectations for these few chests."
Ah-chan knew that the greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment, but he couldn't help but look forward to it.
That's the fun of opening blind boxes.
However, after the box was opened, all four of them frowned, their faces full of disgust.
The reason is that this is yet another box of glass cups.
However, the difference is that the cups in the previous box were larger, clearly teacups, while this box contains smaller wine glasses.
Feng Jialing shook his head: "See, I told you not to have too high expectations."
"Damn it, I'm throwing it away..."
Disappointed, Ah-Can closed the box lid as he spoke.
This time, Feng Jiaqing didn't utter a word demanding that the intact one be kept, letting A-Can throw it into the sea.
