Chapter 599 Calling for Friends and Accompaniment

After the two dolphins entered the water, they did not leave. Instead, they jumped around the Rising Sun and made loud calls.

Dolphin calls are often described as melodious songs.

However, their calls are actually rich and diverse, and quite distinctive.

Dolphin calls can be soft or high-pitched.

They may emit loud calls when they are excited or alert.

The cry was loud and penetrating, as if it could pierce the tranquility of the ocean.

Its frequency is usually outside the normal range of ordinary human voices, so it sounds very sharp and piercing.

When expressing friendly, relaxed, or affectionate emotions, its calls become softer.

Like a gentle breeze caressing the sea, it gives people a warm and harmonious feeling.

At that moment, they were there, making loud noises one after another, and it was unclear what kind of emotion they were expressing.

But soon, Feng Ye found out.

Because the same sound could be heard echoing from afar, dolphins could be seen leaping out of the water.

Dolphins appeared from more than one direction; they were swimming rapidly toward us from all four directions: front, back, left, and right.

They are calling to their friends!

"Holy crap, so many dolphins! There are some here, some there, they're everywhere! How come there are so many dolphins here?"

Ah-Can was making a lot of noise while craning his neck and looking around.

Feng Ye also found it quite rare and took a few more glances at it.

These days, there are indeed quite a lot of dolphins.

Moreover, they all prefer to live in shallow waters, usually near the coastline or along the continental shelf of the ocean.

However, it is rare to see such a large number as today.

Dolphins are indeed social animals, and the Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin is no exception.

However, Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins generally do not form large groups; the groups are usually very small, consisting of fewer than 10 individuals, typically 3-5 individuals together, and at most around 20 individuals.

However, the number of dolphins that can be seen now is no less than 40.

I don't know what's going on, how come there are so many white dolphins in this area?

I have no idea what the two white dolphins, one big and one small, are trying to do by gathering so many of their kind.

The dolphins' calls continued incessantly, rising and falling in waves.

The number of dolphins is also increasing, with dolphins from even further away still coming.

The two found it fascinating, but weren't worried at all.

Dolphins are docile animals and will not attack humans, so it doesn't matter how many there are.

It's a pity that so many dolphins appeared from all directions, having been called over.

If they came in groups from the same direction, that would be great; we could even use a stick to splash the water and catch some fish.

The Rising Sun always has fishing nets on hand.

But there's no way to deal with it now, the dolphins are too scattered.

Feng Ye shook his head with some regret, then turned to tidy up the trawl net so that it wouldn't get in the way on the deck, and also so that it would be easier to move it into the cabin when they returned in the afternoon.

"Stop looking, it's just dolphins, we've seen them before. You can either come help with the trawl nets or go sail the boat."

"Uh... I'll help you set up the trawl net first."

Ah-chan responded and came over to help, but his eyes would occasionally dart towards the dolphins leaping on the sea.

At the same time, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret.

How could it be a dolphin?

If it were any other kind of fish, we could catch them all and sell them for a lot of money.

"Brother Ye, why are there so many dolphins all of a sudden, and they're all heading this way?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

Feng Ye rolled her eyes. "They were called over, weren't they? They've been calling all along, haven't they?"

"I know they were called over, but I asked you to analyze why. Why did they call other dolphins over?"

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? I'm not a dolphin, how would I know what they're thinking?"

"But this is so strange."

Ah-Can scratched his head, completely baffled.

Feng Ye shrugged: "We don't understand the animal world. There are plenty of strange things there, so what's there to worry about?"

"That's true."

Ah-chan nodded.

After a moment of silence, he suddenly said, "Hey, Brother Ye, you said so many dolphins are coming this way, is it possible they're driving the fish over here too?"

Seeing the dolphins so scattered, Feng Ye hadn't initially thought of it that way.

But hearing Ah-Can's question, a sense of anticipation arose in my heart.

He nodded: "If there are schools of fish, it's not impossible."

"Then let's keep a close eye on the sea. If we can really drive a school of fish over, that would be great."

"Um."

However, even after they finished preparing the trawl net, there was still no movement on the sea.

However, there were many more white dolphins, leaping happily on the nearby sea surface, their calls echoing throughout the entire area.

"Hey, why aren't any fish coming?"

Ah-chan sighed in disappointment.

"If you don't have one, then you don't have one. Don't waste time, let's get the boat going."

Feng Ye urged him on, squatted down, and began sorting the catch on the deck.

The catch from this net was so-so, mostly small fry.

However, there are also many relatively valuable items such as sea bass, black sea bream, mackerel, prawns, and blue crabs.

"Um."

Ah-chan replied and turned to walk towards the driver's seat.
