Chapter 65 A Big Fish Escaped

The last rays of the setting sun gradually disappeared, the sky slowly darkened, and night fell.

All the lights on the yacht were turned on, illuminating this small area in the sea.

Sardines are warm-water fish that live near the coast and are attracted to light. When the yacht's lights are turned on, a large number of sardines gather around the yacht.

This also meant that Feng Ye could catch more fish every time he cast his net.

The deck was piled high with countless sardines, some already cold, others still lively and jumping around.

"Mr. Qin, dinner is ready."

Xiao Chen appeared on the deck and called for dinner.

"You stay here and keep watch. Call us when you catch a fish."

After giving some instructions, Qin Aijun called the others to go out for dinner.

Feng Ye finally put down the net, shook his slightly sore hands, and followed them into the cabin.

Although more than a dozen fishing rods had been in the sea for over half an hour without any bite, everyone still held onto their hopes.

As a result, no one paid attention to savoring the food, and no one paid any attention to etiquette; they just shoved the food into their mouths without thinking.

After finishing their meal, they didn't rest. Each of them lit a cigarette and quickly returned to the deck, squatting by their fishing rods.

"A big fish is swimming over..."

Suddenly, Yang Chenghe, who had cast three fishing rods on the right side of the yacht, shouted.

Upon hearing this, everyone ran to the right and looked at the sea by the light.

Feng Ye was no exception; he indeed saw the huge dorsal fin that emerged from the sea like a sail.

It's a sailfish.

Just by looking at the size of its dorsal fin, he was certain that this sailfish must be quite large, weighing several hundred pounds.

This is perhaps due to the lights, which attracted too many sardines to the side of the yacht, naturally drawing in predators as well.

Feng Ye, who originally cast his fishing rod hoping for a lucky break, now felt much more confident.

After watching for a while, Feng Ye prepared to go back and keep an eye on his fishing rod.

Just then, the tip of a fishing rod on the starboard side of the boat suddenly bent rapidly into the sea.

The entire fishing rod bent into an exaggerated arc, as if it would break at any moment.

Clearly, the fish that took the bait had a strong bite.

"I've hooked a big fish..."

Yang Chenghe shouted excitedly and pounced on it, trying to take the fishing rod off the fishing hole bracket.

"Don't take it off..."

Feng Ye shouted, trying to stop him.

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Yang Chenghu acted too quickly.

Feng Ye only had time to say a few words before he took the fishing rod out of the hole.

But he had no experience catching big fish, and he wasn't mentally prepared.

As soon as the fishing rod was removed from the fishing hole, Yang Chenghe felt an immense force coming from it. Caught off guard, he stumbled and almost fell.

Fortunately, the ship had railings, otherwise he would have fallen into the sea and become fish food.

Without a safety line, the fishing rod naturally slipped from my hand and was dragged into the sea by an unknown large fish.

"My big fish..."

Yang Chenghe leaned on the railing, looking at the boiling sea, and cried out in distress.

"Why are you in such a hurry? The fish got away."

Qin Aijun's words carried a sense of disappointment and frustration.

"I never expected the fish to be so strong; I couldn't even hold it back."

Yang Chenghe said with a wronged expression, then turned and glared at Feng Ye: "Why are you speaking so slowly? You made my big fish get away."

"You blame me for the fish getting away?"

Feng Ye pointed at himself, looking at Yang Chenghe in disbelief.

"Whose fault is it if not yours? If you had been a little faster, would I have let the fish get away?"

Yang Chenghe was so heartbroken over the escaped big fish that he became a bit unreasonable.

Just as Feng Ye was about to retort, Qin Aijun said, "What does this have to do with Xiao Feng? He was already trying to stop you. You were just too quick to act. You can only blame yourself."

Hao Aiguo chimed in, "I think you're used to shifting blame? When problems arise, instead of looking for the cause within yourself, you blame others."

Song Jianjun walked over and patted Yang Chenghe on the shoulder: "Old Yang, when are you going to change your temper? You've suffered because of this more than once. Otherwise, you might..."

At the end, he glanced at Feng Ye, seemingly having some reservations, and then stopped talking.

The three of them talked back and forth, making Yang Chenghe's face turn red and white in turns.

Seeing that the three of them were defending him, Feng Ye felt much more at ease and said in a gentle tone, "A pound of fish requires ten pounds of strength. If a big fish bites the hook, don't rush to take off the fishing rod. You should be fully prepared first."

After glancing at the four of them, Feng Ye continued, "However, there is something I did forget. To prevent the fishing rod from slipping out of your hand, it's best to tie a safety rope to it."

It wasn't that Feng Ye had truly forgotten; rather, he had only ever seen others use the safety rope in his previous life, and he himself had never used one.

If you're fishing with an electric reel, why would you need a safety line?

"How do I tie it? Teach me quickly, lest the fish bite and get away again."

Hearing Feng Ye say this, Yang Chenghe's expression improved considerably.

An apology was out of the question, so he could only try to ease the awkwardness with words of urging.

Feng Ye looked at Qin Aijun: "President Qin, do you have any ropes on the boat? We need thick ones."

"I'm not sure if it's true or not. You should go find Xiao Chen; he should know."

"Oh, okay."

When Feng Ye found Xiao Chen, he was having dinner with Yao He.

After Feng Ye explained the situation, Xiao Chen immediately said, "Yes, we do, but we don't know if it will work."

As he spoke, he went to his room and pulled a roll of rope from under the metal bunk bed: "Take a look, is this okay?"

Feng Ye checked it out: "Let's give it a try."

You can't tell if a rope is knotted or not just by looking at it; you'll just have to make do with it for now.

After cutting the rope to the appropriate length with scissors, Feng Ye took a few steps with the rope and suddenly slapped his forehead.

He then remembered a piece of equipment that he had almost never used since he used an electric winch in his previous life.

He turned around and asked, "Is there a roof over the boat?"

Yes, yes.

Under the same bed, Xiao Chen found a cardboard box containing several belly-shaped objects.

They are all brand new and have obviously never been used.

With one hand supporting his belly and the other holding a rope, Feng Ye returned to the deck.

"What is this thing that looks a bit like a belt?"

Yang Chenghe looked at the belly button that Feng Ye had just given him and asked in confusion.

Feng Ye couldn't help but sigh.

Who the hell is this guy?

They don't even know the most basic things, yet they try to learn sea fishing and are always thinking about catching big fish.

"This is the belly tip, used to attack fish when fishing for big ones."

As Qin Aijun spoke, he put on the belly button.

"I'll demonstrate how to use it when we catch a big fish. First, I'll teach you how to tie a safety rope. Like this for now... and then..."

The method of tying the safety rope is not difficult; the four of them learned it after watching it once.

Then each person took a rope and tied one end of it to each fishing rod, with the other end of the rope tied to the railing of the yacht.
