Chapter 772 A Close Call

The wind was so strong, it was blowing so hard.

They ran with the wind, but after only a few steps, they were blown about and almost fell to the ground.

Both of them were anxious, but neither dared to run anymore.

They stumbled and struggled toward the gate, almost being pushed forward by the wind.

The roar of the waves grew closer and closer, like the roar of a giant beast, shaking one's mind and spirit.

"Faster, faster!"

Feng Ye roared.

Even without looking back, one could feel the oppressive force of the waves crashing towards them, carrying with them boundless destructive power.

However, they wanted to be fast, but they couldn't be fast.

Once you go fast, you become unstable and can easily be blown around by the wind.

I finally reached the front door and was about to reach out to open it when the waves arrived.

Huge waves surged up from the beach with overwhelming force, crashing over the open space in front of the gate.

With a loud bang, the gate shook violently as the waves crashed against it, as if it were about to collapse at any moment.

The waves crashed against their feet, and both of them stumbled and fell against the door.

Fortunately, they had reached the gate, and the gate provided them with support.

Otherwise, you'd definitely fall flat on your face.

Although they were tied with ropes around their waists to prevent being swept away by the waves, they were still bound to swallow some seawater.

Seawater is salty, bitter, and astringent; it's not a pleasant taste.

The waves receded quickly, leaving only some seafood on the open ground in front of the door, and no other traces.

"Damn, this wave is huge."

Ye Chenliang patted his chest and said with lingering fear.

"Let's see what goodies this wave has brought."

Feng Ye turned around excitedly, but the smile on his face instantly froze.

"Damn it, this wave of waves is a huge loss."

He originally thought that this wave would bring at least a lot of seafood, but to his surprise, most of what washed up were starfish, with only a few fish and shellfish.

To make matters worse, the two baskets that were almost full of fish were washed away by the waves.

Most of the fish were swept away, leaving only a few behind.

The two had spent most of the day painstakingly collecting fish, and were about to succeed when this giant wave ruined their efforts.

Fortunately, the basket was still there and hadn't been swept away.

Ye Chenliang was so angry that he couldn't help but swear: "Damn it, this luck is just too bad!"

"Never mind, never mind, we can just pick it up again."

Feng Ye felt a pang of heartache, but there was nothing he could do but console himself.

The two men stepped forward, lifted the basket, put the remaining fish inside, and then began picking up the fish that had been washed ashore by the waves.

Starfish are out of the question; they're only good if you have a lot of them.

These things that rushed up here won't fetch much money; picking them up is just a waste of time.

As for shellfish, they only pick the larger and more valuable ones, and don't even bother to look at cheap ones like sand clams and flower clams.

Just as Feng Ye picked up a Bao Gong (a type of ancient Chinese calligraphy), he saw a small green dragon lying motionless not far ahead.

"What a huge little green dragon!"

He happily tossed the Bao Gong statue in his hand into the basket and braved the wind and rain to move forward.

Just as he got close and bent down to pick it up, another wave crashed over him.

Water splashed everywhere, soaking him from head to toe, and some even got into his mouth.

"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey..."

His mouth was instantly filled with a bitter, salty, and astringent taste, making him spit out several times.

At the same time, he rubbed his eyes, which were still wet with seawater.

Looking down at the ground, they discovered that the little green dragon was gone.

"Damn it, we've lost big time, we were swept away by the waves..."

Feng Ye was extremely annoyed.

That little green dragon was quite large; its head probably weighed over a pound.

However, he missed the little green dragon by just a second or two.

That's often how things are in life; there's always a dramatic reversal when you're just close to success, catching you off guard and leaving you full of regret.

Feng Ye sighed and searched around unwillingly, only to find that the little green dragon was being swept away by the seawater.

He quickly stepped forward, trying to catch up with it.

But before he could take more than a few steps, a huge pulling force came from his waist, preventing him from going any further.

"Holy crap..."

He was startled and realized that the rope around his waist was not long enough and had reached its end.

Watching the little green dragon disappear into the distance, he could only helplessly accept this fact.

"Never mind, never mind. If I get it, I'm lucky; if I lose it, it's my fate."

He shook the rain off his head and his gaze returned to the seafood in front of him.

After the waves receded, only a mess was left behind, along with a new batch of seafood.

I had barely collected a few fish when another wave crashed in.

Feng Ye was fine; he was already prepared.

But Ye Chenliang happened to see a blue spot and went forward to grab it to prevent it from being swept away by the sea.

Just as he bent down to grab the blue-spotted fish, a wave crashed over him.

He lost his balance and fell down.

Before he could even stand up, he was swept away into the sea by the reverse-flowing seawater.

Feng Ye happened to witness this scene and was immediately startled.

Just as I was about to go forward to help, I saw Ye Chenliang being pulled back by the rope around his waist, and he stopped sliding into the sea.

He breathed a sigh of relief and secretly rejoiced.

Fortunately, ropes had been tied in for safety reasons, otherwise my brother-in-law might have been swept away by the waves.

He quickly stepped forward, grabbed the rope, and pulled Ye Chenliang back.

Are you alright?

"It's nothing, I was just startled."

Ye Chenliang's face was pale, and he said with lingering fear, "Damn it, I was almost swept away by the waves, but luckily I was held by a rope."

As he spoke, he threw the spotted animal, which he was holding tightly in his hand and reluctant to let go of, into the basket.

He was completely soaked in seawater and looked utterly disheveled.

Fortunately, no one was hurt; they had just swallowed a few mouthfuls of seawater.

"Does it matter if there's one more fish? Let it be swept away if it's taken away."

"You're one to talk! Didn't you just get hit by a wave while trying to grab a lobster? And you were so reckless, trying to catch it."

"But at least I didn't fall or get swept away by the sea."

Feng Ye retorted, then added, "The wind is getting stronger and stronger, and so are the waves."

Even with the rope as a safety measure, it's still best to be careful.

It's very dangerous to go outside during a typhoon instead of staying at home.

But the temptation of fish delivered to one's door is too great; anyone would be tempted to take the risk.

Fortunately, this time it was a close call.

Ye Chenliang smiled awkwardly: "I won't be greedy next time, I'll be more careful."
