"Now that we've seen the excitement, it's time for us to go and reel in our longline fishing."
Feng Ye took one last look at Lan Xin'an, who was still struggling in the water, with a smile on his face.
The sailfish have already fled; there's nothing left to see.
Given Lan Xin'an's swimming ability, he wouldn't drown. Besides, Lan Xinping was there too, so even if there was danger, it wouldn't be their turn to rescue him.
"Okay, let's go."
Feng Xuan nodded and prepared to leave, maneuvering the Rising Sun.
Suddenly, Ah-chan pointed into the distance and shouted, "The sailfish are here again!"
Upon hearing this, Feng Ye and Feng Xuan quickly turned to look in the direction A-Can was pointing.
In the distance, the sailfish's iconic dorsal fin reappeared on the sea surface, and it sped away at high speed.
That was the sailfish that had escaped earlier; it had somehow gotten rid of the hand-thrown net.
Its speed was so fast that it seemed to cut a bolt of lightning across the sea.
Judging from the direction it was traveling, it was the fishing boat that Lan Xinping was on.
"Lan Xinping is in trouble!"
Feng Ye's expression turned serious. He immediately realized that the sailfish might be targeting Lan Xinping.
Sailfish are known for their incredible speed and sharp upper jaw; being hit by one can have dire consequences.
Feng Xuan and A-Can clearly realized this as well, and their expressions changed.
However, they all just watched quietly, and no one offered to help.
Not to mention that they didn't want to help in the first place, even if they wanted to help, they were powerless to do so.
Without the right tools, they are unable to fight off the sailfish.
Moreover, they might put themselves in a dangerous situation.
"Tsk tsk, they've really messed with us. That sailfish is clearly enraged and wants revenge."
Ah-chan was even a little gloating.
In the blink of an eye, the sailfish shot straight toward the fishing boat where Lan Xinping was, like an arrow.
But then, something unexpected happened.
Unaware of the danger, Lan Xin'an was determined to swim to the side of the boat so that Lan Xinping could pull him up. Unfortunately, he ended up swimming right into the path of the sailfish.
It was truly a coincidence that his mother opened the door for him, and they arrived home by sheer coincidence.
Feng Ye and the other two were dumbfounded, never expecting such a turn of events.
"Lan Xin'an, get out of the way..."
They were all shouting anxiously on the boat.
Even Ah-chan, who was initially gloating, was so anxious he was jumping up and down.
No matter what past grievances they may have had, they could not remain indifferent when a living person was about to die before their eyes.
"Brother, get out of the way! Get out of the way!"
Lan Xinping was terrified and shouted at the top of his lungs.
Although she didn't know what had happened, upon hearing her brother's anxious shouts, Lan Xin'an instinctively turned around and was immediately stunned.
What came into his view was a long upper jaw and a huge dorsal fin, charging straight at him with lightning speed.
That was the culprit that dragged him down, the sailfish.
Its speed is so great that it seems capable of piercing through any obstacle.
Lan Xin'an was terrified, his eyes filled with fear. He wanted to hide and run away, but his body was as if nailed to the ground, unable to move.
It's a long story, but it actually happened in the blink of an eye.
The sailfish's upper jaw sliced through the surface of the sea before slamming into Lan Xin'an.
"No!"
Lan Xinping closed his eyes in despair.
The strength of a sailfish is so great that it can capsize even a small boat, let alone a human being made of flesh and blood.
The consequences are too terrible to bear, unless a miracle occurs.
However, the miracle did not happen.
The sailfish's sharp upper jaw easily pierced Lan Xin'an's chest, then continued its high-speed journey towards the fishing boat, propelling Lan Xin'an's body forward.
"Bang!"
With a loud crash, the sailfish slammed into the fishing boat, its long upper jaw deeply embedded in the hull.
Due to its high speed and strong impact, its upper jaw became stuck in the hull and could not be pulled out.
In an attempt to pull its upper jaw out, the sailfish frantically thrashed and struggled in the water, causing the fishing boat to rock violently.
Looking at the scene before him, Lan Xinping felt as if his heart was being torn apart.
Lan Xin'an's body was pierced by the upper jaw of the sailfish, and he was trapped between the fishing boat and the sailfish. The gushing blood stained the seawater red, but was immediately diluted by more seawater.
His eyes were still open, but his head was drooping to one side, clearly lifeless.
"younger brother!"
Lan Xinping let out a heart-wrenching scream. He picked up a bamboo pole and, while crying and shouting, frantically whipped the sailfish.
The sailfish, under attack, struggled even more frantically.
On board the Rising Sun, the three people who witnessed this scene fell silent.
After a long while, Feng Xuan finally let out a long sigh: "What are we going to do now?"
Feng Ye remained silent, his eyes flickering, lost in thought.
Ah-chan said with a disdainful look, "You reap what you sow."
Feng Xuan glanced at him but said nothing.
Indeed, this whole affair was entirely the Lan brothers' own doing, and they have no one else to blame but themselves.
If Lan Xin'an hadn't been greedy and wanted to catch the sailfish, he wouldn't have fallen into the water, wouldn't have provoked the sailfish to go berserk, and wouldn't have died.
But then again, it is, after all, a human life.
Moreover, Lan Xin'an was still young, and it's truly a pity that he died here like this.
"Let's go help. We have to get Lan Xin'an's body onto the boat, no matter what."
Feng Xuan looked at Feng Ye, seeking his opinion.
Feng Ye hesitated for a moment before slowly saying, "Well, let's go then."
Feng Xuan carefully maneuvered the Rising Sun and approached the violently rocking fishing boat from the other side.
