Chapter 516 Feng Jiaqing Arrives with People and Boat

It was another tiring day. After finishing its work, the Rising Sun rushed to Changgu Island.

Feng Ye was exhausted after sorting through the last net's catch.

He stood up, pounded his aching lower back with his fist, and then twisted it a few times.

Just then, Ah-Can suddenly asked, "Brother Ye, do you think your dad and the others have arrived yet?"

Feng Ye hesitated for a moment: "We should be here by now."

"That's what I think too, but I'm afraid something might happen."

"What kind of accident could there be? I haven't heard of any major storms or waves in the past few days."

For those going out to sea, the weather forecast is the primary concern.

At home, we receive the signal via television or radio.

It's actually quite convenient here, it just takes a few steps.

There is a notice board at Changgu Island pier that displays the weather forecast for the next few days.

"What I mean is, what if they get lost, or can't find the location of Changgu Island?"

Feng Ye frowned. "Impossible. Didn't I tell my dad the general direction? Besides, if we really couldn't find it, wouldn't we have asked along the way?"

"But we'd have to be able to find someone to ask!"

Upon hearing what A-Can said, Feng Ye frowned even more deeply.

As they approached the island, the closer they got to it, the fewer ships they could see on the sea. Eventually, they wouldn't encounter a single one for an hour or two.

Instead of fishing in the local waters, everyone went to the various fishing grounds below Haizhongzhou to catch small yellow croakers.

He was silent for a moment, then shook his head: "I don't think they'd be that stupid. If they can't find anyone at sea, wouldn't they just come ashore and ask?"

"That's true."

Ah-Can nodded, thought for a moment, and then said, "Actually, we don't need to dock. We can't see the big ships, but there are still quite a few small wooden boats along the shore. We can ask around. But, can we ask them for directions to Changgu Island?"

"I think so."

Feng Ye was no longer sure.

Logically speaking, Changgu Island, as a town-level island, should have a high level of fame.

But at that time, people rarely traveled far from home, only wandering around the vicinity of their homes. Many people never even left the town in their entire lives.

You may have heard of Changgu Island, but you might not know its exact location.

"Forget it, there's no point in guessing. We'll know the result when we get ashore."

After Feng Ye finished speaking, he turned around and cleaned up the mud, sand and other garbage that had been dragged up by the trawl net on the deck.

Ah-chan nodded and said no more. He took a bucket and filled it with seawater to rinse the wound.

...

Compared to yesterday, they hauled one less net today and finished work earlier, starting their journey back before 3 p.m.

Therefore, it was still dark when they reached the shore.

As they approached the dock, Feng Ye stood at the bow, his eyes scanning the boats moored on the dock, hoping to spot the ship that Feng Jiaqing had sailed over.

However, he was disappointed and did not see the familiar ship.

The dock was too big, with too many ships of all sizes moored there.

Furthermore, some smaller boats were blocked by the larger ships and could not be seen at all.

The delivery boat at home is the smallest trawler, only twelve meters long, so it might have been blocked.

Therefore, he wasn't too worried and planned to look around the dock after they landed.

However, to his surprise, just as the Rising Sun came to a stop, a figure suddenly rushed out from the side and jumped onto the ship.

Upon seeing the newcomer, Ah-Can exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Wen!"

"Brother Wen, what brings you here?"

Feng Ye also seemed quite surprised; this person was actually Xiao Guowen.

However, Xiao Guowen's appearance completely relieved him of his worries.

This means his father and the others have arrived.

"You're allowed to come here to make money, but I'm not?"

That's not what I meant...

"Haha, just kidding."

Xiao Guowen laughed loudly, "It rains every day at home, so we can't dry fish. We're just sitting around eating our meager savings."

“Your dad just happened to come looking for me. When he heard that you were offering such a high wage, I thought I'd come and help you out and earn some extra money on the side…”

"etc."

Feng Ye interrupted him, her eyes widening as she retorted, "What did you say? You're here to help me with the work?"

"yes."

Xiao Guowen said with a grin, "What? Not welcome?"

"Welcome, of course you're welcome."

Feng Ye quickly shook his head and replied with a smile, "But shouldn't you be working on the Harvest Ship? What's the point of you coming here?"

"The Harvest Ship hasn't arrived yet, how am I supposed to get up there to work? Fly up there?"

"Huh? Just my dad on one boat? I thought the Harvest was here too."

"No, the Harvest hasn't returned yet. I don't know where they went fishing. They've been gone for more than ten days."

"Oh, you called back?"

"Yes, I went to the post office to make a call as soon as we docked."

Xiao Guowen then changed the subject, saying, "By the way, where are your fish today? Why is the deck so empty?"

Feng Ye pointed behind him: "It's at the stern."

Because Boss Jiang used small boats to transport the goods, they moved them all to the stern of the boat on their return trip.

Of course, the space on the stern deck is limited and can't hold so many, but there are more inside the cabin.

"I'll go take a look."

"Don't be in such a hurry, it's not too late to look at it later. Go and call my dad and the others over first."

Feng Ye glanced to the side and said, "Forget it, let's just bring the boat over. There's an empty spot right next to us."

"Yes, yes, I'll go right away."

Xiao Guowen quickly jumped ashore and jogged along the dock to the left.
