Ah-chan's underwater treasure hunt ended unexpectedly quickly; he came up to the surface just over half an hour later.
Seeing how excited he was, Feng Ye originally thought he would stay underwater for a long time before coming up.
Just then, Feng Ye finished sorting the catch from one trap and was stretching, preparing to continue his work of collecting traps.
Suddenly, a wave surged on the distant sea, and Ah-Can's agile figure leaped out of the water, his face beaming with undisguised joy.
Seeing this, Feng Ye couldn't help but smile and wave at A-Can.
Ah-chan swam to the side of the boat, skillfully climbed aboard, unloaded his diving equipment one by one, and then excitedly showed off his catch.
The seafood he caught mainly consisted of sea cucumbers and small lobsters, along with various kinds of shrimp and crabs.
However, to Feng Ye's surprise, A-Can actually caught five fish.
Among them were a sea bass, three black sea bream, and a red snapper weighing over two pounds.
Feng Ye couldn't help but exclaim, "Ah Can, you're amazing! You even caught the red spots. You're really something!"
"Hehe, lucky me. That red spot was in a shallow crevice in the reef, it was probably resting there. I quietly approached, blocked the crevice with the landing net, and caught it in no time."
Ah-chan laughed triumphantly as he explained.
After hearing this, Feng Ye shook his head, speechless.
Why can't he find such a good opportunity?
He had seen many fish before and tried to catch them with a landing net, but to no avail. So he stopped paying attention to them and stopped chasing them when he saw them.
Most fish in the ocean are quite agile and alert. Once they sense danger, they will quickly flee, running away before they can even get close.
Therefore, using a landing net to catch them is not very practical; more specialized tools such as spearguns are usually required.
Ah-Can laughed and said, "Brother Ye, you might find even better goods this time you go down there."
"Thank you for your kind words, I'll go down and take a look."
Feng Ye smiled, put on the diving equipment that A-Can had taken off, walked to the side of the boat, and with a flip, jumped into the azure sea.
They skillfully pulled themselves to the bottom of the cliff, then swung their flippers and began searching the seabed.
Before long, Feng Ye saw a small green dragon swimming leisurely.
A thought struck him, and he quietly approached, his net poised to strike.
But this little green dragon seemed more alert than usual, and with a quick twist and a leap, it hid in a crevice in the reef.
Feng Ye reached into the crevice and found it to be quite deep; he couldn't even reach the bottom, let alone touch the little green dragon.
Unwilling to give up, he turned the net in his other hand upside down and poked it in with the handle, trying to poke it out.
However, the gap was incredibly deep; even with the entire two-meter-long handle inserted, there was no feeling of touching the bottom.
"You're lucky."
Feng Ye frowned and reluctantly gave up on the little green dragon.
There are plenty of good things at the bottom of this cliff; there's no need to waste time on a little green dragon.
He had just turned to leave when he suddenly saw a large conch shell lying in the mud and sand not far ahead.
Even if you don't catch the little green dragon, picking up a conch shell is not bad.
"An empty shell? Damn, what a waste of time."
He swam over, picked it up, and took a look, only to find it was an empty shell without any meat, which startled him.
Just as I was about to throw it away, I unexpectedly saw a white tentacle sticking out from inside.
"Little Octopus?"
Feng Ye's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately thought of this creature.
He looked inside carefully and sure enough, there was a small octopus hiding there.
Octopuses have an obsessive fascination with all kinds of containers and crave to hide inside hollow ones.
It doesn't just love to burrow into bottles and jars; it loves to crawl into any container to live in.
Given that octopuses have a penchant for burrowing into containers, people often use earthenware pots and bottles to make fishing gear to catch them.
Of course, the shell of a conch can achieve the same effect.
This little octopus clearly chose this conch shell as its hiding place.
There are many kinds of octopuses, totaling more than 252 species in 26 genera of marine mollusks, which vary greatly in size.
The one hidden inside the conch shell is probably the smallest of the kind, commonly known as the Little White Seal, but its scientific name should be Vulcan's Sheath.
"Little white seal, one bite and it's done, pretty good. I wonder if it has any seeds?"
Feng Ye was delighted and wanted to get the little octopus out of the conch shell.
But the little octopus seemed very stubborn, and no matter how he tried, he couldn't get it out.
Left with no other choice, he had to abandon the idea and put the conch shell and the baby octopus into the net bag.
No rush. Once we get back to the boat, we'll sprinkle some salt into the conch shell, and it will naturally come out on its own.
Having acquired a small white seal, Feng Ye was in a good mood and continued his search on the seabed.
Soon, he discovered another small green dragon.
This little green dragon looked a bit bigger than the one we failed to catch, and it didn't seem to notice Feng Ye's approach.
Feng Ye was overjoyed and cautiously approached, afraid of attracting its attention, slowly extending the net in his hand.
As expected, the little dragon was caught in the net.
I put it in the net bag, and when I looked down, I found two more sea cucumbers among the seaweed.
He bent down to pick one up, and just as he was about to pick up a second one, he saw a thin fish emerge from the sea cucumber's anus.
Feng Ye was stunned for a moment, then realized what was happening.
"This is... a hidden fish?"
