Two boats lay quietly moored in the lagoon, like two isolated islands, standing firm against the wind and rain.
The rain was still falling, but it wasn't as heavy as before; it was slowly getting lighter.
Feng Ye knew that it was just a brief calm before the typhoon arrived.
It was already five o'clock.
If the weather forecast is accurate, the typhoon will arrive in the next hour or two.
After cleaning the cabin, the five boatmen went up to their sleeping quarters on the second floor to change their clothes.
They were all soaked to the bone.
They were all men, so there was nothing to be embarrassed about. They all squeezed into the narrow aisle of the sleeping pod, wiping the rain off their bodies with towels.
"The wind and rain came suddenly, which was both frightening and exciting."
Ye Chenliang said with lingering fear.
"The weather at sea is unpredictable; you're more likely to run into bad luck when things are going badly."
Du Yulin said with emotion, "It's much better now. There are weather forecasts, although they're not very accurate, but at least we can take precautions in advance."
When we used to go out to sea, we were completely in the dark, knowing nothing and could only rely on experience to judge the weather.
Sometimes, when you encounter storms, it's truly a matter of life and death.
"Indeed, many people have lost their lives at sea every year due to severe weather."
"So, we're lucky to have found such a natural haven."
"Of course, the typhoon shouldn't affect this place, and I can get a good night's sleep."
"You're so carefree! A typhoon is coming, and you can still sleep?"
"You have to sleep even if you can't. Are you going to get up and fight the typhoon?"
Upon hearing this, everyone else couldn't help but laugh.
Indeed, when the typhoon hit, they didn't have any good options and could only wait there.
"This place is sheltered from the wind, so there shouldn't be any major problems."
Feng Ye picked up the conversation and continued, "However, just in case, we still need to arrange for someone to keep watch tonight."
There are eight of us in total, so let's divide into pairs, three hours per pair. Let's discuss how to arrange it.
Keeping watch alone at night is too boring and too hard to endure.
It's different with two people; at least they can talk and chat.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Although this place seems safe, the power of the typhoon should not be underestimated.
If anything unexpected happens, it could be a matter of life and death.
No one dares to be careless about something that concerns their own safety.
Soon, everyone agreed on the order of the night watch.
The first group consists of Feng Ye and Ye Chenliang;
The second group consists of A-Can and Han Qiwen;
The third group consists of Xiao Mingshi and Luo Zhiping;
The last pair is Feng Xuan and Du Yulin.
"Let's go and cook dinner before the typhoon hits."
Otherwise, when a typhoon hits, this place will be affected to some extent; the boat will rock even more, making it less convenient to cook.
"Ah Ye is right, let's cook first..."
Everyone immediately went down to the first-floor cabin and got to work, preparing a hot meal to soothe their stomachs, which had been battered and bruised by the wind and waves.
Feng Ye did not get out of the car, but sat alone in the driver's seat, constantly monitoring the situation outside.
The rain gradually subsided, but the wind grew stronger, howling as if it would sweep everything away.
On the distant sea, the waves surged and huge waves rolled, stirring up bursts of white spray.
The lagoon's surface was also affected, with waves becoming much larger and the boat rocking more violently.
Feng Ye frowned: "This looks like... is a typhoon coming?"
Suddenly, a gust of wind arose, carrying countless raindrops that shot towards the Dong Sheng like arrows, striking the ship's hull with a crackling sound.
The trees on the island swayed in the strong wind, making a rustling sound, as if they were wailing.
Some trees couldn't withstand the ravages of the strong winds and were broken or uprooted.
The sky grew increasingly dark, and the whole world was shrouded in darkness.
Immediately afterwards, the rain intensified again, pouring down as if the sky had collapsed.
The wind howled and the rain poured down.
The typhoon is really coming!
Feng Ye's heart tightened as he looked through the windshield.
The rain outside looked like a giant net, enveloping the entire lagoon.
Furthermore, the view was blocked, and the situation outside the lagoon could no longer be seen; only waves could be seen surging in from the outside.
Between heaven and earth, there was only chaos.
He glanced at his watch and realized it was only 5:30.
Judging from the current time of day, it's not yet evening.
If it's a sunny day, the sun will still be high in the western sky at this time, and it won't set for another hour.
"Damn it, what are the people at the weather bureau doing? Their forecasts are completely inaccurate."
Useless, a bunch of useless trash!
The timing was wrong, and the typhoon's intensity was also incorrect.
Judging from this, it doesn't look like a Category 9 tropical storm at all; it's more like a Category 12 typhoon!
Feng Ye couldn't help but burst into a tirade of curses.
Then, I became nervous again.
The typhoon arrived early and was even more powerful than predicted, which undoubtedly increased their danger.
He was completely unaware that even if the forecast was accurate enough, what could they do? They could only stay here and leave it to fate.
"Grass!"
Feng Ye cursed again, picked up the walkie-talkie: "Uncle Jun, the typhoon has arrived, and it's even stronger than predicted. What's the situation on your end?"
