"Are you envious of our hospital's emergency room? Where are you doctors from?" A male emergency doctor pulled aside the curtain and walked up to them. He must have heard their conversation and asked them questions based on what they were saying.
Hearing the voice, Xie Wanying and Liu Jingyun looked up.
The male doctor standing in front of him was in his thirties, without glasses, with a square face. He had his two muscular forearms exposed through the half-sleeves of his white lab coat rolled up for work. He had a handsome and capable temperament, and his tone of voice didn't seem harsh, but his two thick eyebrows looked quite serious.
"My last name is Wei." The other person pointed to the doctor's badge on his chest and said.
Maybe it was because of the distance or the lighting, but Liu Jingyun and Xie Wanying couldn’t see what was written on the other person’s sign, so they followed the other person and said, “Doctor Wei.”
"Which hospital are you from? Are you treating these patients sent here?" asked Doctor Wei.
Sure enough, someone came to ask.
"We happened to be dining at that hot pot restaurant." Xie Wanying and Liu Jingyun explained the situation at the time, "So--"
"Which hospital are you from?" Dr. Wei asked again because they did not answer the first question.
...
...
"We're not doctors yet—" the two interns hesitated embarrassedly.
"Not doctors?" Doctor Wei was surprised to hear their answer. He turned around and glanced at the patients they had treated and sent to him. He didn't quite believe it. "Not doctors, but medical students?"
"Yeah." The two nodded.
"Which medical school are you from?" Dr. Wei stretched his neck and looked at their faces seriously, as if he wanted to make out their facial features clearly.
The other party's interrogative attitude made Xie Wanying and Liu Jingyun's hearts beat fast: What's going on?
"Come on, come on, tell me, who was the first to deal with the fainted old man. Stand up." Doctor Wei gestured to them to stand up.
When it came to the patient's condition, Xie Wanying stood up. Worried about her junior sister, Liu Jingyun followed suit.
"It's you, right?" Doctor Wei pointed at Xie Wanying and saw clearly that she was the first to stand up.
"Yes." Everyone has their own responsibility, Xie Wanying admitted.
"Come with me." Doctor Wei waved to her.
Xie Wanying followed behind Dr. Wei, and Liu Jingyun followed behind them both.
Bypassing the partition, we entered the emergency ward, which was equipped with the most comprehensive monitoring equipment, and even an imported ventilator was placed in the corner for immediate use.
There were two beds, one for the old woman who had suffered a cardiac arrest, and the other for the waiter with a head injury. Both were on ECG monitors, with IV drips on the backs of their hands, and both seemed to be awake, with their eyelids closed and their mouths groaning a few times.
Family members and the store manager were not allowed to enter as they were going to process the hospitalization procedures for the patients and the injured. There were only medical staff here.
So we can see that there are nurses adjusting the drip rate, and there are two or three other doctors whose identities are unknown. They may be junior doctors or medical students interns who are treating the patients under the guidance of senior doctors.
Seeing someone coming, the group of people turned around and looked at Xie Wanying and Liu Jingyun.
"She needs to be transferred to the cardiology department. Let me ask you, did you perform CPR on her?" Dr. Wei pointed at the old woman and asked Xie Wanying.
"My second senior sister and I took turns to perform CPR on her," Xie Wanying said. "It took less than ten minutes before the patient's heartbeat recovered."
