Chapter 102 Song Yingying Goes to the Qin Family for the New Year

The car quickly arrived at the Qin family's house.

The last time Song Yingying went to that magnificent hotel, she was already shocked enough.

She gazed out the window at the endless lawn and several small villas in the distance, with black sedans and SUVs parked along the roadside.

Only then did Song Yingying truly grasp the meaning of what her aunt had told her that day.

Grandpa Qin said kindly, "Yingying, today is the first day of the Lunar New Year. According to tradition, relatives from the Qin family's collateral branches will also come to pay their respects. We're just introducing you to them. We're all here, so don't be afraid."

Song Yingying said "okay".

We got off the bus in front of the fountain soon after.

Standing at the front was Grandma Qin, with Qin Zheng's parents beside her. She recognized Qin Baohua, and behind her were more than ten people, men and women, young and old, none of whom she recognized.

Grandma Qin's eyes immediately welled up with tears when she saw Song Yingying.

"Yingying, my child!"

Perhaps it was the bond of blood, but as soon as Song Yingying heard Grandma Qin's sobbing, she quickly stepped forward and immediately helped the old lady up.

Grandma Qin scrutinized Song Yingying's face.

"Yes, he looks just like Wen Yuan."

Song Yingying's eyes also welled up with tears, and she blurted out "Grandma!"

Grandma Qin agreed with tears in her eyes, holding Song Yingying's hand tightly, her eyes fixed on her, as if trying to see through her to her son who died more than ten years ago.

The old man came to Song Yingying's side and said, "Go inside first and let me introduce you to Yingying."

Everyone in the Qin family now knows Song Yingying's true identity.

Some were curious and inquisitive, while others were disdainful and mocking.

Grandpa Qin first introduced Qin Zheng's parents, saying, "You should call them Uncle and Aunt."

Song Yingying obediently greeted them.

Grandpa Qin then introduced other people.

There were Qin's cousins, uncles, nephews, and their families, all dressed elegantly and adorned with jewels.

With so many strangers around, and Song Yingying being face-blind, after all that work, she only remembered the faces of Qin Zheng's parents.

Grandpa Qin proudly pulled Song Yingying along to introduce them.

“Yingying has been sensible since she was little. She is now in her second year of high school. She has always been the top student in her grade. She gets free tuition and scholarships. She is just as good as your cousin.”

Qin Zheng smiled but didn't say anything.

Song Yingying blushed as she was introduced, and Grandma Qin pulled her to sit on the sofa.

Grandma Qin looked at Song Yingying's face intently.

Song Yingying felt that Grandma Qin was easier to get along with than Grandpa Qin; she was a kind old woman.

"Yingying, Grandma will take you around later."

Song Yingying nodded and said okay.

This is the Qin family's old house. What we saw on the way here was just the front yard. With Grandma Song leading the way, the family's relatives, aunts, and sisters also went to explore.

Song Yingying was overwhelmed by the sights around her. There was a small pond and a small library in the backyard, which had a rich cultural heritage.

The younger generation also became acquainted with Song Yingying and wanted to take her out to play.

Song Yingying was not a bookworm. Her gaze quickly swept over the faces of these people, and she slowly said "okay".

She's not money; she can't be liked by everyone.

The youngest daughter of that cousin was about the same age as Song Yingying. She was said to be from Shanghai and had been treated like a princess since she was a child. From the moment Song Yingying entered the family, she never gave Song Yingying a second glance.

Qin Zheng was instructed by his grandfather to take Song Yingying away.

"Come on, I'll take you to see the library."

Song Yingying immediately became interested. "Let's go!"

The younger generation avoids it like the plague, so it's better to go set off firecrackers.

The small library is full of books. Qin Zheng also explained, "During the war, my great-grandfather's generation hid many rare books here. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, those books were donated and returned to their rightful owners."

Song Yingying nodded. Many of the books inside were from a long time ago, and there were paintings on the walls. Song Yingying couldn't understand them, but she could tell at a glance that they were very valuable.

After leaving the library, Song Yingying had a general understanding of the Qin family. The main branch was involved in politics, while the side branches were involved in business. They were involved in various industries and had businesses both at home and abroad. The family also had a trust fund from which family members could receive money every year.

After dinner in the evening, some members of the Qin family stayed at home, while others left.

After accompanying Grandpa and Grandma Qin to see off their guests, Song Yingying planned to go home.

Grandma Qin held Song Yingying's hand: "Why don't we stay home for a few days instead of going back tonight?"

Song Yingying's fingers curled up. "Grandma, I haven't told my uncle and aunt yet. Maybe I can come again tomorrow."

Grandpa Qin nodded, "Don't make things difficult for the child, Yingying. Grandpa will send a car to pick you up tomorrow. You can stay as long as you want."

Song Yingying smiled and said "okay".

At eight o'clock, Song Yingying left by car under the watchful eyes of the Qin family.

Back in Heping Lane, Song Yingying was still carrying gifts for her uncle and aunt, which her grandparents had asked her to bring back.

It's dark now, and it's the first day of the lunar new year, but the alley is still quite lively.

Thanks to Liu Aimei, all the neighbors in Heping Lane now know about Song Yingying's background.

"Yingying, you went to your grandparents' house? Are your grandparents very rich?"

"Yingying, your uncle and aunt are benefiting from your success."

"A golden phoenix has flown out of the chicken coop; the Song family is about to take flight."

...

Song Yingying frowned: "Who told you that?"

“Your sister-in-law, everyone heard her shouting.”

Song Yingying quickened her pace and returned to the Song family home.

Xu Guiying and the others had just finished eating. Song Rongrong and Song Jianmin were still talking in the main room when they saw Song Yingying return, and they looked surprised.

"Yingying, you're back!" Song Rongrong looked at her in shock.

Song Jianmin felt very conflicted, but he was still happy for Song Yingying.
