Tomorrow is Sunday, so Song Yingying stayed at the Qin family's house tonight and will spend another day with her grandparents tomorrow.
After watching the Song family leave, Old Master Qin and the others turned and went inside.
Grandma Qin understood why Song Yingying didn't want to return to the Qin family. The Song family had a down-to-earth air about them, but they weren't worldly.
Song Yingying yawned. "Grandpa and Grandma, I'm sleepy. I'm going upstairs to sleep."
Grandpa Qin waved his hand, "Go on, we're going out for lunch tomorrow. Yingying, you and your brother go have a cup of hot milk before you go to sleep."
The maid quickly brought two glasses of pre-warmed milk from the kitchen.
Song Yingying finished it in a few gulps.
Qin Zheng finished his drink and went upstairs.
The next day, Song Yingying slept until nine o'clock in the morning. After eating breakfast, she took out a set of clothes from the closet and changed into them.
Today, Grandpa said it was a fellow veteran's birthday celebration, and the four of them were going to the banquet together. It would be a good opportunity to take Song Yingying out to meet him.
Song Yingying wore a khaki cashmere coat and a pair of calfskin ankle boots.
Qin Zheng was dressed a little formally, and when he stood next to Song Yingying, their faces looked remarkably alike.
Grandpa Qin and Grandma Qin looked at the brother and sister with smiles, their eyes filled with pride and satisfaction.
Song Yingying wasn't used to it. She usually wore durable cotton coats, and this was the first time she had worn such a light and soft coat.
Grandma Qin said it looked good, and then asked the maid to get Song Yingying a bag.
The restaurant was not far from the Qin family's residence; it was located in a house that was very similar in architecture to the Qin family's.
The place was bustling with noise; quite a few people had come.
Song Yingying got out of the car with her grandparents. After the Qin family went inside, there was a moment of silence. Many people looked at Song Yingying and Qin Zheng and whispered among themselves.
The host's surname was He, and Grandpa He, with his gray hair, first greeted the Qin family couple.
Grandpa Qin handed the birthday gifts to the He family's butler.
"Old Qin, is this girl your granddaughter?"
Grandpa Qin smiled kindly, "Yingying, call him Grandpa He."
Song Yingying obediently greeted them.
Grandpa He looked at Song Yingying and Qin Zheng and smiled, "Old Qin, your two grandchildren are really good-looking."
The brother and sister were clearly no ordinary people.
These words struck a chord with Old Master Qin. He waved his hand and said, "It's all because the children are good; we don't usually have to worry about them."
Grandpa He: "..."
So you're here to show off, huh?
It was Song Yingying's first time attending such a banquet, and she didn't know what to do at all, so she just followed Qin Zheng the whole way.
Qin Zheng didn't like socializing either, so he pulled Song Yingying to a place to sit down. A moment later, a figure suddenly appeared.
"Qin Zheng, I've been looking for you for ages, and you've been hiding here."
The speaker is He Chenggong, the grandson of Grandpa He.
Qin Zheng: "Didn't you find it?"
He Chenggong couldn't help but look at Song Yingying, who was watching him curiously from the side.
"You're his sister?"
Qin Zheng narrowed his eyes slightly, signaling He Chenggong to speak properly.
He Chenggong coughed lightly, "I'll sit here for a while. My uncle went back to China these past two days. Grandpa just made me go with him to social events, and I'm exhausted."
Qin Zheng glanced outside and saw a tall man in the crowd raising a glass in a social setting.
Song Yingying focused on eating her cake, silently worrying about her homework.
