Song Yingying was also keeping her relationship a secret from Song Rongrong; only Song Yingying knew about it at home.
Song Rongrong goes out every day, making sure to return before Song Xinfu and his wife get off work.
However, Song Rongrong returned with red eyes that afternoon.
Song Yingying immediately noticed that something was wrong.
"Sis, what's wrong?"
Song Yingying looked extremely worried, her brows furrowed.
Song Rongrong lay on the bed crying, tears streaming down her face.
Song Yingying jumped in fright, "Sister, did that guy bully you?"
Song Rongrong sat up. "You don't understand."
Song Yingying: "Sister, if you tell me, I'll understand."
Song Rongrong cried again, tears streaming down her face.
Song Yingying was so anxious that she stopped doing her homework and paced back and forth by the bed. "Sister, did that guy do something bad?"
Song Rongrong sighed through her tears.
"Yingying, you're still young."
"Just tell me, and I'll understand. How complicated can dating be?!"
Song Rongrong cried for a while longer, and only after she was tired of crying did she say, "He...he went to the movies with other female classmates behind my back."
Yan Huai said she was his junior sister and asked Song Rongrong not to misunderstand, but Yan Huai already had a girlfriend, so how could he be with someone else?
Song Rongrong didn't believe it, and the two started arguing. The junior sister told Song Rongrong not to be angry, saying that she just happened to have time to go.
Song Rongrong was originally going back to school today to hand in some materials and have a meal with her former classmates, but she ran into Yan Huai and his junior sister coming out of the movie theater.
After the argument, Song Rongrong went home.
Yan Huai did not catch up.
Song Yingying gritted her teeth in anger, "Isn't this just a scumbag?!"
Song Rongrong hummed in agreement, "He's a scumbag."
Song Yingying: "Then you should break up with him right away!"
Song Rongrong started crying again.
Song Yingying could hardly believe it. Where was her free-spirited, sharp-tongued, and clear-headed fourth sister?!
"He's such a jerk, why aren't you breaking up with him? Sis, wake up!"
Song Rongrong knew this, but... but since it happened to her, she still couldn't bear to let it go.
Song Rongrong wiped away her tears. She was going to break up with Yan Huai, but the feelings she had invested in these past few months were real.
It's easier said than done.
Song Rongrong: "Yingying, I will break up with him. Give me some time."
Song Yingying muttered, "We're watching a movie now, and you caught us. Who knows what else we did while you were away!"
Song Rongrong took a deep breath. "Yingying, stop talking."
Song Yingying was really worried that her fourth sister was getting carried away by love.
"Sis, you absolutely have to break up with him, do you hear me?!"
Looking at her anxious sister, Song Rongrong forced a smile and said, "Don't worry, I will."
Song Yingying left the room, giving Song Rongrong some space.
A short while later, Song Jianmin returned, carrying groceries.
"Fifth Brother, what are we having for dinner tonight?"
Song Jianmin: "Shredded potatoes, Chinese cabbage, braised pork ribs, and tiger-skin peppers."
Song Yingying: "I'll help you."
"Aren't you doing your homework today?"
Song Yingying chuckled, "We need to balance work and rest."
Song Jianmin chuckled, "Silly boy."
"You're the idiot!"
Song Jianmin casually shredded potatoes. It had been five or six days since his mother forbade him from seeing Yu Fang. These past few days, Song Jianmin had been leaving the factory through a small gate every day to avoid running into Yu Fang.
Song Jianmin still can't believe that the person who scared his father so much that he almost fell over that night was Yu Fang.
Yu Fang's body was as thin as a sheet of paper; how could she possibly harm her father?
Song Jianmin sighed.
Song Yingying was thinking about Song Rongrong and didn't pay any attention to Fifth Brother.
By dinner time, Song Rongrong had returned to normal. Lao Wu had been quieter these past two days, but Song Xinfu and his wife pretended not to notice.
After finishing their meal, everyone went about their own business.
Two days later, Song Jianmin finally met Yu Fang.
The small gate was almost burgled last night and needs to be renovated today, so Song Jianmin had no choice but to use the main gate, but unexpectedly, he still ran into Yu Fang.
Yu Fang seemed to have just returned from the vegetable market.
"Song Jianmin, it's you again, what a coincidence."
Yu Fang smiled at Song Jianmin.
You can't hit someone who's smiling, so Song Jianmin smiled too.
"Did you just kill the chicken?"
Yu Fang nodded. "I haven't seen you for the past few days. I thought you weren't working here anymore."
Song Jianmin waved his hand, "Hey, I've been reading lately, so I sometimes leave late. I left early today because I had to rush home to cook."
Yu Fang was surprised and asked, "Are you preparing for the college entrance examination?"
Song Jianmin nodded. This is not unusual. Many people in the factory read a book under the workshop lights after get off work before leaving.
Yu Fang added, "Song Jianmin, you're really amazing."
Song Jianmin waved his hand, "No, no, I'm just a runner-up at best."
This road only splits at the Fourth Military Hospital.
Song Jianmin thought to himself that he probably wouldn't run into his parents.
Yu Fang wore a light-colored short-sleeved shirt and trousers today, which made her look even thinner. It was the first time I had ever seen Yu Fang wear light colors.
Song Jianmin complimented, "You have fair skin, and you look good in light colors."
Yu Fang: "You look good too."
Song Jianmin coughed awkwardly, "It's alright, it's alright."
Strangely enough, although Yu Fang was quite pretty, Song Jianmin didn't feel the same attraction he had for Zhang Qingli.
