Chapter 179 Song Anmin Avenges Xu Songyuan

Xu Peng, who was only up to Song Anmin's shoulder, burst into tears.

Song Anmin grabbed his neck with one hand and pinched his mouth with the other.

“You little beast, you dare to cry? You did something bad and you still dare to yell? You're lucky you ran into me. If you met my mother, she could pour that stuff down your head.”

Unable to move while restrained, Xu Peng could only look at Xu Songyuan and call out intermittently, "Uncle, I won't dare to do it again, help!"

Song Anmin's expression changed slightly as he looked at his uncle, "Uncle, who is this?"

Xu Songyuan glanced at Xu Peng with a dark expression. "He's my cousin's son. Let him go."

Song Anmin kicked Xu Peng in the back of the knee, yelling, "You brat, you dare to hit your uncle? When you grow up, will you dare to use a knife?!"

Xu Peng fell forward again, quickly covering his face to avoid hitting his head.

Xu Peng scrambled to his feet and tried to run away.

Song Anmin narrowed his eyes slightly, "I'm telling you to clean things up before you leave."

The commotion in the courtyard quickly alerted the nearby neighbors and Sun Xiumin.

Sun Xiumin had just returned from working in the fields and was preparing lunch when she heard Xu Peng crying.

Sun Xiumin rushed over and saw a strange man yelling at Xu Peng.

Sun Xiumin was furious. "Who do you think you are, daring to bully my son!"

Song Anmin sneered and walked towards Sun Xiumin.

“You’re his mother, a cowardly woman who gave birth to a cowardly little coward. Your son doesn’t look sick, does he? He’s over ten years old, but he looks like a toad. His character is questionable. He’s so young and he’s already bullying his own uncle. What kind of kid throws mud into his uncle’s yard?”

Sun Xiumin's expression changed, and she immediately looked at Xu Songyuan under the eaves.

Song Anmin has been cursing for so long, and his uncle hasn't stopped him. It seems he's right to curse!

Song Anmin continued, "What are you looking around for? Could it be that you adults instigated this? Your son bullied your uncle, and you, as his mother, have done it many times before."

Sun Xiumin's face flushed red. "Shut up! Who do you think you are, daring to talk to me like that!"

"Hey, who are you? It's been so many years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, are you the local tyrant of Xingfu Village? Is your son the crown prince? You can't even scold him! You think it's glorious to have a son to bring honor to your ancestors? You dare to smash mud now, what will you do when he grows up? Will you dare to set the mountain on fire?"

Sun Xiumin used to argue with women, but never with men.

She stammered for a long time, unable to utter a single word.

The neighbors who were watching the commotion pointed and whispered about Sun Xiumin.

"How dare you? Xu Songyuan raised your daughter for so many years, and you've bullied her like this."

"Exactly! They even told Xu Peng to throw mud! Aren't they ashamed of themselves?!"

"You're all very shrewd. The fact that Xu Peng and Xu Xue look like this must be a matter of blood relation between you!"

"Even after the family has separated, they still won't let Xu Songyuan off the hook. They're still cousins, but they're treated worse than strangers!"

...

Sun Xiumin's face turned red and white. "Stop talking. There must be a misunderstanding. Xu Peng, why did you smash up your uncle's yard?"

Xu Peng's eyes darted around. "I saw him. I thought he was a thief!"

Song Anmin crossed his arms and said, "Hey, a thief? Have you ever seen a thief as handsome as me? You look more like a thief. If no one was home, you would have gone in and stolen money, wouldn't you? You look so sneaky, you don't look like a human being at all."

"Hey, young man, you're right. It was Xu Peng who conspired with others to steal Xu Songyuan's money, but Xu Peng wouldn't admit it!"

Song Anmin's eyebrows shot up. "What? You're the one who ordered people to steal the money?"

Xu Peng was startled and instinctively stepped back.

Sun Xiumin tried to stop Song Anmin, but was pushed aside.

Song Anmin grabbed Xu Peng by the collar and raised his hand as if to hit him.

Sun Xiumin screamed!

Xu Songyuan then spoke up, "Third brother, forget it."

Song Anmin was just trying to scare Xu Peng. He scoffed, threw Xu Peng to the ground, and seeing Xu Peng's pale face, Song Anmin immediately shouted, "Hold on! If you dare to pee here, I'll make you lick it clean!"

Song Anmin's voice was quite loud.

Everyone's eyes were drawn to Xu Peng's crotch.

Xu Peng's face turned bright red. "You, you...who said I was going to pee? You're talking nonsense!"

Song Anmin raised an eyebrow and looked the mother and son up and down.

"Hurry up and go pick up the mud and stones."

"What's wrong? You're not moving? Do you want me to hit you? Can't you understand Chinese?"

Faced with a burly man like Song Anmin, Sun Xiumin never even considered throwing a tantrum or cursing. Suppressing her anger, she looked at Xu Songyuan and asked, "Brother, who is this guy?"

"Who do you care who I am? I'm the law! I'm a righteous passerby!"

Sun Xiumin's chest heaved with anger.

"Oh, so you're pretending to faint? Everyone, look! I didn't do anything, I didn't hit anyone, did I? If you're really unconscious, don't try to extort money from me. The villagers are all watching, they're all witnesses!"

Sun Xiumin was so angry that her teeth itched, and she raised her hand to hit someone.

Xu Songyuan: "Sun Xiumin, I don't owe your family anything. Clean up your things. If this happens again, I'll ask the village chief to come."

Sun Xiumin was utterly humiliated; the slap she hadn't thrown landed on Xu Peng's face.

"You troublesome brat, apologize to your uncle right now."

Xu Peng sobbed, "Uncle, I'm sorry."

Under the watchful eyes of the others, Xu Peng threw the stones and mud back into the grove.

Sun Xiumin felt ashamed, so she stood aside and cursed Xu Peng as a scoundrel.

A few minutes later, the ground was clean.

Sun Xiumin pulled Xu Peng home.

Everyone dispersed.

Song Anmin clapped his hands, looked at Xu Songyuan, and chuckled, "Uncle, how did I do? You've vented your anger, haven't you? By the way, I heard about the family division on my way here. What's going on? You have a daughter?"

Xu Songyuan's eyes trembled, and he patted Song Anmin on the shoulder.

"Third brother."

Song Anmin was stunned. "Uncle, what's wrong?"

Xu Songyuan clenched his fist. "Alright, let's go inside. Your uncle will cook for you."

Song Anmin scratched his head and asked for a long time before finally getting the whole story.

Xu Songyuan kept Chen Zhi's matter a secret. He had to investigate it slowly. Without sufficient evidence, he couldn't rashly make a fuss or call the police.
