Neither of the brothers is easy to deal with.
Just then, the brick deliveryman arrived.
While Xu Guiying was silent, Song Anmin grabbed Song Jianmin and ran away.
When Song Xinfu came out after taking a shower, he saw Xu Guiying standing at the door without saying a word, so he asked her what was wrong.
Xu Guiying: "The third and fifth sons went to live at their home in Songyuan."
Song Xinfu dropped the towel he was holding.
"What?"
Xu Guiying pursed her lips. "Alright, alright, let's finish building the wall first."
The third and fifth brothers ran back to Xu Songyuan's house, where a stack of bricks was piled up in the yard.
The two brothers will get started tonight. They've seen their dad do it before, so it's not difficult to set it up.
It's not completely dark yet. When my uncle comes back and sees the wall that's been built, that'll be perfect!
I worked from around 6 a.m. until past 10 p.m.
Fortunately, the wall surrounding this courtyard isn't very long.
The two brothers had just finished when Xu Songyuan returned.
They were shocked to see this, exclaiming, "You two did this?"
Song Anmin nodded: "Of course."
Xu Songyuan was very surprised and gave the two brothers a thumbs up.
Have you two eaten yet?
Song Anmin nodded quickly: "I ate, I ate."
After doing this work, the two brothers felt a little more at ease. Now their uncle probably wouldn't be in a hurry to kick them out.
At night, the two brothers slept in bed, each sleeping soundly.
It's right on the street outside Heping Lane.
Fueled by alcohol, the group sat motionless by the roadside, including Xu Xue and Xu Peng.
He was pointing wildly and gesturing incoherently, talking nonsense; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he was drunk and acting crazy.
The group exchanged glances and stayed for ten or twenty minutes before leaving.
Two days have passed since the debt was due, and there are still five days left. If the money isn't received, the gangsters will come knocking on our door.
Xu Xue's identification documents were hidden by Sun Xiumin.
Sun Xiumin would absolutely not allow those people to touch Xu Peng, and if it were absolutely necessary, she would push Xu Xue out even if she didn't know better.
...
Now Song Anmin and Song Jianmin also have a home to return to, and they go home on time after get off work the next day.
Anyway, it's just the two brothers having dinner together tonight, and Xu Songyuan isn't coming back.
The two of them quickly made something to eat in the kitchen.
Song Anmin: "Fifth brother, go to the field and pick some cilantro."
Song Jianmin: "Where's the cilantro? My uncle didn't grow any."
Now that we have a shop, all the ingredients are stored there.
Song Anmin: "Go back to our field and pick a few stalks."
The fields behind the house are planted with vegetables we often eat. Song Anmin had been there with his grandfather before, and they had cilantro planted there.
Song Jianmin scratched his head. "Then I'll go."
Song Anmin: "Hurry up."
Song Jianmin rushed out, closing the courtyard gate behind him.
In a very good mood, Song Anmin served the two plates of fish he had prepared, and waited for Song Jianmin's slow-moving turtle to return with cilantro.
They'll eat one plate, and we'll send the other one home.
There was another plate left in the kitchen, reserved for my uncle.
Song Anmin went back to the kitchen to serve rice.
Suddenly, he froze, took a step back, and caught another dark shadow in his peripheral vision.
"Who the hell are you! Stop right there!"
The young man's eyes widened, and he turned and ran. He was as thin as a monkey, and he darted out of the gate in an instant. Song Anmin cursed, ran up, slammed the gate shut, and chased after the man.
Song Anmin had long legs and ran fast. He ran and shouted all the way. When he reached the other end of Heping Lane, he immediately pinned the person down.
"Help! Catch the thief!"
Just then, a shout came from the direction they had come from.
Song Anmin's face turned pale.
Oh no, Fifth Brother!
The young man beneath him gave a wicked smile.
Song Anmin punched him, yelling, "What the hell are you laughing at? Shut the hell up!"
Song Anmin looked anxious and ran back with the person in his arms.
"Song Anmin?"
Zhuo Huai was riding his bicycle home when he saw this and was shocked. "What happened?!"
Song Anmin: "Sister Zhuo Huai, this man is a thief. He just broke into my uncle's house. Fifth Brother just shouted, something must have happened!"
Zhuo Huai immediately got out of the car. "Go and see him right away. I'll bring him over."
Zhuo Huai was strong. He slapped the young man first, leaving him half-dazed, and then twisted his arm behind his back and grabbed him.
"I'm strong, you go and take a look."
As more and more neighbors entered the alley, Song Anmin became increasingly worried, so he left the person with Zhuo Huai and ran forward quickly.
Grandpa Song also heard the commotion and rushed to Xu Songyuan's house first.
Then they saw the fifth brother pinning down the burly man with a bloodied hand, his eyes bloodshot: "Damn it, you dare to try and lure us away from our mountain! I'll beat you to death!"
Song Jianmin punched the person beneath him repeatedly.
The big man's face was covered in blood.
Old Master Song was shocked and exclaimed, "Xiao Wu, stop!"
The old man kicked the knife away and quickly grabbed a rope hanging nearby to tie the man's feet together.
Grandma Song was a step too late. When she arrived, she was so frightened that her face turned pale. She immediately found another rope and tied her hands up again.
"Xiao Wu, are you alright?!"
"Song Jianmin, speak! Is it only your hand that's injured?" Old Master Song turned Song Jianmin around to examine him.
Song Jianmin finally came to his senses and gasped for breath: "Quick, quick! Third Brother has gone after them!"
