Chapter 231 Getting into University

After Song Jianmin enrolled in school in early September, the factory reassigned him to a different position. He was already the deputy director, and getting into university was a good thing, but they couldn't fire him. So they kept his position and made him work weekend shifts. While his workload was reduced, his salary was also reduced by one-third.

Song Jianmin was quite satisfied; at least the job was still reserved for him.

Chen Zhou and Qian Yu'an, on the other hand, need to find new part-time jobs.

Qian Yu'an had saved money beforehand, so her finances weren't tight.

Chen Zhou had to balance his studies and part-time work, so there weren't many jobs available. Song Jianmin told Chen Zhou not to worry, he would take care of it.

Song Jianmin asked around among his factory workers, but there weren't many part-time jobs available recently, so he went to find Song Anmin again.

Song Anmin raised an eyebrow. "That's easy, just ask your uncle."

Xu Songyuan's shop has already hired people, but it's especially busy on weekends and evenings. Chen Zhou can go to the shop to help out on weekends and evenings, which is perfect.

Song Jianmin slapped his forehead.

"Oh right, I forgot about that."

When Xu Songyuan returned that evening, he immediately agreed to the matter.

They were neighbors and old acquaintances. It would be tiring to help out at the restaurant, more tiring than Chen Zhou's previous job at the teahouse. If Chen Zhou wanted to come, Xu Songyuan would pay her 25 yuan a month.

Upon hearing this, Chen Zhou immediately agreed!

For a part-time job, this is already considered high!

Chen Zhou was very grateful to Xu Songyuan, but didn't know what to do. Song Jianmin told her not to be nervous and that if she really wanted to thank them, she should just treat the two brothers to a meal.

Chen Zhou: "Okay!"

It's the same night market barbecue place as last time.

Qian Yu'an found a part-time job at a bookstore outside the university. The part-time salary wasn't high, only 15 yuan a month, but that was enough for her.

September is almost over, and National Day is just around the corner.

The Liu family has not seen Liu Aimei for almost half a year now, and Liu Aimei has not returned home.

Old Man Liu was worried that something might have happened to Liu Aimei.

Old Lady Liu dismissed it, "She's definitely still holding a grudge about that slap. It's been so long, and she's still not over it. She was the one who insulted Xiong Jing first. I'm not even angry with her, and she still dares to give me attitude!"

Old Liu frowned. "Aimei is our real daughter, old woman, don't get it wrong."

Old Mrs. Liu immediately flew into a rage upon hearing this, "What do you mean?! Xiong Jing is my sister's biological daughter. Now she has no man, and Xiong Shugen is gone. If I don't worry about them, who will?! This is the kind of person your Liu family is—only thinking of yourselves and not others. I've been married into your family for so many years and I'm still an outsider!!"

"Alright, alright, what were you talking about again?"

Old Man Liu then changed his tune, saying, "What about Song Guomin? There's still no news about him."

Old Lady Liu's expression changed slightly. "How should I know?"

After saying that, Old Lady Liu left the house.

Xiong Jing was walking Zhuang Chenghao in the yard; he's almost a year old now.

"Auntie, why are you out here?"

Old Lady Liu frowned and asked in a low voice, "How is Song Guomin?"

Xiong Jing bit her lip. "I don't know where he was transferred to, and neither do his neighbors."

In mid-September, Xiong Jing went to wait for Song Guomin on his way home, but never saw him. Later, she went to the bottom of Song Guomin's building.

The neighbors said that Song Guomin was transferred to another post and no one knew where he went. He left with his two children, and Liu Aimei has never come back.

So many days have passed, and there's still no news.

Xiong Jing tentatively asked, "How about we ask the Song family..."

Old Lady Liu clicked her tongue, "No, no, Xu Guiying is very shrewd, she will definitely notice."

Xiong Jing asked again, "Auntie, where did my cousin go?"

Old Lady Liu guessed that Liu Aimei was definitely living with that wild man.

The two were whispering to each other when Li Xia's voice suddenly came from behind them.

"Oh my, what are you plotting now?" Li Xia leaned closer. "Tell me about it too."

Li Xia's gaze darted back and forth between the two faces.

I really can't see any similarities.

Old Lady Liu glared at her, "Get out! Get out!"

What kind of daughter-in-law is like Li Xia, who is lazy and good-for-nothing, doesn't even bother to pick up a fallen soy sauce bottle, does nothing at home, and doesn't go out to find a job? It's all because her son spoils her!

During the National Day holiday, Xu Guiying and Song Xinfu both took time off. They took Song's grandparents and Song Yangmin on a trip around the capital.

Song Yangmin acted as a bodyguard throughout the entire process.

He has now regained most of his senses and is like a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy. He is very different from his former kind-hearted self. He always has a cold face and no expression. If you are not familiar with him, you really don't dare to talk to him.

Song Yangmin's coldness is different from Qin Zheng's.

Qin Zheng exuded a cold and arrogant aura, making people hesitant to look at him for long. Song Yangmin, on the other hand, had utterly cold eyes and a stern face, as if someone owed him a gold mine or silver mine. He was tall and strong, and if he had tattoos on his arms, he would most likely be mistaken for a gangster.

This has its advantages; he now knows the way and can go to the Capital University campus to wait for Qian Yu'an on his own.

Usually, Grandpa Song or Grandma Song, or Song Xinfu and Xu Guiying would follow behind him.

Qian Yu'an was young, beautiful, and had a youthful appearance, which made many men in the department eager to pursue her. However, after seeing Song Yangmin and Qian Yu'an together, no one dared to have any other thoughts.

Song Yangmin was dressed in all black, looking just like someone who had come to collect a debt.

After National Day, Song Yangmin went out almost every day. He continued to drink Chinese medicine and receive acupuncture, and Grandma Song always followed behind him.

Grandma Song will only return to Heping Lane after Song Yangmin and Qian Yu'an get together. When Song Jianmin finds out about this, he laughs at Grandma Song for being a messenger of love, and gets scolded by her again.
