Liu Aimei opened the door and saw two policemen outside; her face turned pale.
"Are you Liu Aimei?"
Liu Aimei swallowed hard. "Yes."
"We suspect you are involved in a murder case in Chengxiang Community and need you to return to the station for investigation."
Liu Aimei's teeth chattered. "What case? I don't know. I'm not going anywhere. I'm still in my postpartum period."
"A male corpse was found in the grove behind Chengxiang Community. Someone saw you pass by there that day. What would a woman who just gave birth be doing there? We've already asked your family, and you didn't go back that day. So why were you there?"
"I...I was just passing by. I wanted to go back, but I heard people talking about me, so I...I left."
"Then why did you risk going back to your parents' home before you were even out of postpartum confinement? And why that particular day?"
