A few days later, Qian Mingyuan and his wife came to Heping Lane to visit Qian Yu'an, who was pregnant. They arrived early in the morning and left quickly after having dinner in the evening.
The new store is almost finished with renovations. Tables, chairs, and benches are all in place, and the cooks and general helpers are ready to start work.
The shop is located near a commercial area and not far from the university town. Xu Guiying consulted someone and set the date for the official opening on December 23rd.
On the opening day, Grandpa Song came from the countryside to help. Song Huimin was the new store manager, and he was very good at entertaining customers. The store was almost full by noon on the first day, and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. By evening, there were no seats left.
They were busy until after 9 p.m., and there were still one or two tables of customers left in the shop, so Xu Guiying and the others left first, leaving Song Huimin and a few others to continue minding the shop.
Only Grandma Song and Qian Yu'an were at home. Neither of them was asleep; they were soaking their feet together in the main room.
Hearing the noise at the door, Grandma Song told Qian Yu'an to continue soaking her feet. After drying her feet, she came out of the main room and said, "How's the shop? Hurry up and have some water."
Xu Guiying and her husband, along with Grandpa Song, were all exhausted today. Xu Songyuan, along with his third and fifth sons, passed by and returned to the Xu family home.
Grandpa Song waved his hand, "What's so tiring about this? I can work for another ten years."
"You're just talking big." Grandma Song rolled her eyes at the old man, then asked Big Dog and the other man, "How's business?"
Xu Guiying smiled and said, "It's alright, better than expected."
Grandma Song's smile deepened. "That's good. Let's go inside."
Qian Yu'an also came out wearing slippers. Grandma Song told her to go back inside quickly, "It's still snowing outside, hurry up and come inside."
The next few days were weekdays, and the first and second floors were almost full at noon, and almost full in the evening. Xu Songyuan was worried about the new store, so he went out early and returned late every day. Song Jianmin also went to the new store to help after class.
On December 31st, Song Yangmin returned from the army. He went to help out at the shop during the day, and around 8 p.m., he went back to Heping Lane with his parents.
With a pregnant woman at home, Grandpa and Grandma Song ate dinner early and left mutton for Xu Guiying and the other two, keeping the soup warm.
Qian Yu'an had another meal with them.
Xu Guiying stared at Qian Yu'an's belly, a thoughtful expression on her face.

The next day was January 1st. Song Yangmin and Qian Yu'an went out early in the morning and returned to Heping Lane around 11 a.m., bringing good news to their families.
The test results confirmed they were twins!
Xu Guiying was so excited that she couldn't speak for a long time, her face beaming with joy. Song Xinfu was radiant and said "good" three times in a row.
Grandpa and Grandma Song's eyes reddened with joy.
"Oh my goodness!"
"Our Song family's ancestral graves are emitting auspicious smoke! Yu'an is pregnant with twins! Twins!!"
"Great! Two at once, the second one, are they really twins? What if they turn out to be triplets in two months?"
Song Yangmin's smile never faded. "Dad, the doctor said it's twins."
"Yu'an, you are a great contributor to the family. Come and sit down. Second brother, quickly pour your wife a glass of water."
When Qian Yu'an heard the doctor say it in the morning, she was so excited that she couldn't come to her senses. On the way back, she felt like she was dreaming. She touched her lower abdomen in disbelief, saying, "It feels like a dream."
Xu Guiying: "Whether it's a son or a daughter, did the doctor say anything else?"
Qian Yu'an shook her head, "Let me rest well, that's all."
This incident made the atmosphere at home extremely lively, and the old man was thankful that he hadn't rushed back to the countryside.
Hearing the commotion at the Song family's house, Aunt Wang came over curiously to ask what had happened.

The Song family was all smiles. When everyone went for a walk in the evening, the neighbors all knew that Qian Yu'an was pregnant with twins. The third and fifth brothers also found out. The fifth brother pushed the third brother to the Song family's door.
"Second brother, second brother, second brother!!!"
While his grandparents and parents were out for a walk, the fifth child quickly knocked on the door.
Song Anmin's leg is not fully recovered yet. He can stand up, but his ankle is still a little uncomfortable. He will be able to get rid of the wheelchair before New Year's Eve.

As the New Year approached, the Song family's life was getting better and better. However, on New Year's Eve, Xu Guiying and Song Xinfu went to help out at the new store and were not expected to return home until after 8 p.m. Only Grandpa Song, Grandma Song, and Qian Yu'an were at home.
Lu Peng, who worked at the auto repair shop, suddenly appeared in Heping Lane.
They asked their way to the Song family's house, and the first thing they asked upon knocking on the door was, "Is Qian Yu'an home?"
Grandpa Song opened the door and, seeing that Lü Peng was a stranger, couldn't help but ask, "Who are you? What happened?"
Grandma Song and Qian Yu'an came out of the main room.
Lu Peng said anxiously, "Qian Shurong has been in an accident! He's in the hospital now!!!"
