For several days in a row, Chen Qing and his wife did not appear in Heping Lane, nor did they go to the shop to look for Chen Zhou.
Chen Zhou reinforced the locks on the windows and added extra locks to the main door.
On March 5th, the couple who wanted to adopt Guoguo came to the brewery.
Song Anmin made a special trip to the nursery to see them that noon.
The middle-aged couple were both teachers; one was a high school Chinese teacher, and the other was a junior high school math teacher. They looked refined and had outstanding demeanor, not like con artists.
The couple had been married for over ten years without children. In the past two years, they had considered adopting a child and visited several welfare institutions in the city, but they couldn't find a suitable child.
Firstly, their ages were incompatible, and secondly, their personalities clashed. However, after seeing Guoguo at the factory this time, the couple were quite satisfied.
Song Anmin secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
The husband, Liao Hanxue, who was wearing glasses, said in a gentle tone, "Let's go back and think about it some more."
Song Anmin: "Okay, adopting a child is a big deal, so let's think about it more."
The woman's name was Jia Jun.
Jia Jun patted Guo Guo's head. "If it's suitable, we'll come and take her home in a few days."
Song Anmin nodded. "Okay."
The couple didn't stay long and left quickly.
Song Anmin stayed behind, held Guoguo, and played with her for a while. He looked thoughtful and asked, "Sister Zhao, could I see the address book?"
"There are folders on the table, take them yourself, I still need to go collect Guoguo's clothes."
Each visiting parent registers their name and contact information.
Song Anmin carried Guoguo over and glanced at the address.
The couple lived in the Dongguan District Middle School.
Song Anmin silently noted down the address, and planned to take Lao Wu there to check it out on the weekend.
But early Saturday morning, the two brothers had just left home and hadn't even passed the Song family's house when they heard a series of hurried and flustered voices.
The two brothers exchanged a glance, realizing something was wrong, and rushed over. They saw Grandpa Song and Song Xinfu carrying out a cart with a thick quilt on it. Qian Yu'an was helped onto the cart by Xu Guiying and Grandma Song, and Xu Guiying quickly covered Qian Yu'an with the quilt.
The group looked grave, and Qian Yu'an's face was pale with a furrowed brow.
"Let's go, let's get to the hospital right away."
Grandpa Song and Song Xinfu pulled the cart ahead, while Xu Guiying followed quickly, carrying large and small bags.
Song Anmin strode forward and asked Grandma Song, who was locking the door, "Grandma, what's wrong with Second Sister-in-law?"
Grandma Song said urgently, "I saw some blood this morning, I need to go to the hospital to get it checked out."
This morning, when Qian Yu'an got up, she felt a little uncomfortable in her stomach. She thought it was because she hadn't slept well last night. But after eating breakfast, she realized something was wrong. When she saw some bleeding, she hurriedly told Xu Guiying, and the family decided to go to the hospital to get checked out.
The fifth brother quickly said, "Third brother, let's go too."
Song Anmin: "Let's go, let's go."
My second brother wasn't home, so I left the errands to them.
Grandpa Song and Song Xinfu pulled the cart quickly and steadily. When they arrived at the hospital, they were told that Qian Yu'an's condition was due to malposition of the fetus, with the larger baby squeezing the smaller one's living space. They suggested that she be hospitalized for observation for a period of time. If the bleeding continued, she might have to miscarry one of the fetuses.
This is such a dangerous situation for twins to miscarry!
The Song family members all had very solemn expressions.
Grandma Song sat on the bench and kept chanting Amitabha Buddha.
Song Anmin touched his nose. "It should be fine, right?"
Song Xinfu frowned. "The second son will be back at noon."
Xu Guiying got up and went into the ward first. Qian Yu'an was already asleep while receiving an IV drip. She came out again soon after and told Grandpa and Grandma Song to go home and make something to eat so that they could bring their second son to the hospital at noon when he returned.
The third and fifth children didn't leave; they stayed with their parents in the ward. It was a four-person ward, and across from them was an elderly woman with a broken leg.
Xu Guiying stayed by the bedside, while Song Xinfu and the third and fifth brothers waited in the corridor outside.
Song Yun arrived around 10 o'clock.
"Brother, how's Yu'an?"
Song Xinfu sighed, "They're still sleeping."
Song Yun had only been inside for a short while when Qian Yu'an woke up. They were talking inside, and it wasn't convenient for the third and fifth brothers to go in, so they continued to sit and wait outside. Song Xinfu urged the two of them to go back, as it wasn't good for them to just stay here and guard.
Song Anmin: "I'm not leaving. I'll wait for my second brother to arrive before we talk."
Song Jianmin: "If Third Brother doesn't leave, I won't leave either."
Song Xinfu figured he would have to stay in the hospital for a few more days. He didn't have enough money with him, so he told his third and fifth brothers that he had something to do and prepared to go back to Heping Lane to get his savings book and withdraw money. He returned to the hospital in a little over an hour and gave the bag containing the money to Xu Guiying.
Around 12:00, Song Yangmin appeared in the hospital corridor, panting heavily.
Song Anmin: "Second brother is here, second brother, hurry up and go inside."
Song Yangmin had ridden his bike all the way here, his eyes were red, and he held Qian Yu'an's hand for a long time without being able to say a word.
Xu Guiying looked at her second son's empty hands and left the ward with Song Yun. They saw Grandpa Song carrying two large insulated boxes coming from the end of the corridor.
"Did the waiter go in?"
Xu Guiying hummed in agreement, "Dad, have you eaten?"
Grandpa Song: Not yet, I'll eat when I get back.
The old man glanced at the third and fifth sons and said, "Hurry up and go back. Your second brother is enough here."
Only then did the third and fifth brothers get up.
"Third sister, you should go back first. Second brother and I will stay here and keep watch."
Song Yun's expression was also serious. She nodded and said, "Sister-in-law, just tell us if there's anything you need."
Xu Guiying nodded and watched them leave before returning to her ward.
Qian Yu'an was in low spirits. "I was perfectly normal the day before yesterday and the day before yesterday."
With tears in his eyes, Song Yangmin comforted her, "Your health is the most important thing. One child is enough for us."
