At 10 a.m., Wang Ya and Song Anmin met in the park on time.
Seeing that Wang Ya was also carrying fruit, Song Anmin couldn't help but ask, "Why did you buy fruit?"
Wang Ya casually said, "Since we're already here, we can't come empty-handed. Hurry up and carry it, it's so heavy."
Wang Ya had been to Heping Lane once before when she was handling a case, but she hadn't explored it in detail. It wasn't noon yet, so it wasn't too hot. She strolled over slowly, and it was quite quiet inside.
Wang Ya had always felt that the atmosphere at Song Anmin's parents' home was quite good, and that Song Anmin had no one to blame but himself for making a foolish mistake and being singled out.
Grandpa Song recognized Wang Ya. "Officer Wang, you've arrived."
Wang Ya smiled and said, "I've heard Song Anmin mention his two kids a lot before, so I came to visit them today since I had the day off."
Song Anmin placed the fruit on the table, saying, "Wang Ya bought it."
"You child, you're here, why are you being so polite? If it weren't for Officer Wang's help, the poisoning case involving Tan Rongguo wouldn't have been solved so quickly. Have lunch at our house."
Wang Ya glanced at Song Anmin: "It's all what I should do."
Song Anmin quickly said, "Grandma, Wang Ya has to go investigate a case later! She won't be eating at home for lunch."
Grandpa Song: "Isn't today a holiday?"
Song Anmin coughed lightly, "I just want to find out what's going on and ask some questions."
Since it involved a case, Grandpa and Grandma Song didn't ask any further questions, so as not to delay the police officers from going to work.
The main reason is that Song Anmin wants to take Wang Ya to eat at that noodle shop, and besides... Wang Ya and Song Anmin haven't officially started dating yet, so it wouldn't be appropriate for her to stay for dinner.
Song Muchuan and Song Zhiyin lay in the cradle, their big eyes looking around.
Wang Ya touched Song Zhiyin's little face, "Oh my, it's so smooth, your skin is so nice."
Seeing that Wang Ya was itching to hug someone, Grandma Song picked up Song Zhiyin and put her in her arms so she could try.
Wang Ya held the baby very carefully, afraid of dropping him, and handed him over to Grandma Song after holding him for ten seconds.
Wang Ya teased Song Muchuan again, but the brother was even quieter than his sister. Song Zhiyin would babble a few words, but Song Muchuan remained completely still for a long time.
After staying at the Song family home until almost 11 o'clock, Song Anmin took Wang Ya out, and the two walked towards the high school.
Wang Ya couldn't help but say, "Song Anmin, you only came into my house today because of me."
Song Anmin: "Yeah, yeah, it's a good thing you were here today, so I was able to go in once. You have no idea how many times I've hugged them, I can count the number on my five fingers!"
Wang Ya chuckled and kindly comforted him, "It's alright, at least you've reformed."
Song Anmin: "...Thank you."
It took about twenty minutes to reach the school. The students were in class and it wasn't even noon yet, so there weren't many people in the noodle shop. The noodles they ordered were served quickly.
"You should try it."
Wang Ya took a bite of beef, swallowed it, and gave a thumbs up. "It tastes good."
Song Anmin shrugged. "I know a lot more delicious food. Maybe next time."
Wang Ya remained silent and continued eating her noodles.
Song Anmin didn't get a reply from Wang Ya, so he scratched the back of his head. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly caught sight of two figures walking past on the other side.
Wang Ya didn't hear Song Anmin's voice, so she looked up and asked, "What's wrong?"
Song Anmin frowned slightly. "I just saw Liu Aimei."
Liu Aimei?
Wang Ya remembered that the witness in Zhao Qiang's murder case was also Song Anmin's sister-in-law.
