The van arrived in Lion Town very quickly.
Lion Town is mostly made up of single-story houses, with very few multi-story buildings. The roadsides are lined with land where people are growing crops.
The car was parked outside an inconspicuous restaurant in Lion Town.
Song Anmin and his companion followed furtively on their bicycles. The two squatted by the roadside, and Wang Ya went into a small shop and asked the owner if he had a phone number.
The people in the town are all quite poor; they don't have landlines or mobile phones.
Song Anmin: "I'll stay here and watch over things. You go find a hotel."
Wang Ya glared at him: "I'll stay here and guard it. You hurry up and go find it!"
Although Wang Ya wasn't wearing her police uniform today, she wouldn't let Song Anmin do anything that might be even slightly risky.
Song Anmin frowned. "Then should I call the police station directly?"
Wang Ya responded with an "Mmm".
Xu Ping was the first to get out of the car. He opened the back door and dragged Liu Aimei out.
Xu Heng glanced in that direction.
The people on the street seemed to be used to it, and no one felt anything was wrong. Wang Ya immediately stopped Song Anmin and scolded him, "Where are you going? You just got back and you're already going to find that vixen? Have you no shame!"
Song Anmin's eyes widened slightly, and he reacted quickly, "What else? Look at you, your temper is like a rock in a stinking latrine, both smelly and hard!"
Wang Ya rushed forward, grabbed Song Anmin, and slapped him across the face.
Song Anmin exclaimed "Holy crap!" and whispered, "Are you still watching?"
Wang Ya glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and said, "He went inside."
Song Anmin: "Then I'll go."
"Be careful, when you make a phone call, pretend it's a call home."
"Um."
The two spoke quickly and quietly, and then Wang Ya started wiping away tears, "You heartless bastard! I'm divorcing you! You bought a piece of junk car and now you're just swindling people and not doing any real work, and you're always hooking up with women. How could I have been so blind to fall for someone like you!"
Song Anmin, standing in front, couldn't help but chuckle. "That was quite a realistic performance. Maybe I should become a star and act in movies in the future."
Song Anmin quickened his pace, as if afraid that the tigress behind him would catch up.
Wang Ya stood by the roadside wiping away tears and crying, crying to the shop owner, and fabricating a very tragic marriage story.
Meanwhile, in the restaurant across the street, the skinny guy at the cashier said, "Nothing's wrong, they just had a fight."
Xu Ping glanced in that direction and said, "Damn it, that motorcycle has been right behind us ever since we came back. It was making noise the whole way and almost flipped over!"
Xu Heng narrowed his eyes slightly, "That woman looks alright, how about..."
Xu Heng glanced at the two of them, then raised his eyebrows.
The skinny man shook his head. "No, that woman is quite tall, and her voice is high-pitched and loud."
Liu Aimei has already been carried to the backyard.
Xu Heng shrugged. "Whatever. Anyway, we have enough goods this time. How much did Lao Pan bring over this month?"
Old Pan's route goes through a neighboring city, not from the capital.
The skinny guy made an eight.
Xu Heng cursed, "He's going to make a killing this month."
"I heard his son is getting married and he needs money to build a house." The skinny man smiled and said to Xu Ping, "You're so lucky to have a proper job. All those women would come running at the drop of a hat."
Xu Ping: "What's so great about it? If you ask me, you guys are having a blast. You have no idea how strict the city police are!"
The skinny guy used to be like Xu Ping and his brother, and Lao Pan and the others. Later, he couldn't work anymore, so he came to the restaurant.
Besides Lao Pan, there are other people here, but Lao Pan is the one who gets the most goods every month.
The skinny man looked up at the opposite side and asked, "Where's that woman?"
Xu Heng raised an eyebrow. "Could it be that Sister Qiu did it to you?"
Xu Ping chuckled maliciously, "Besides your place, Qiu Jie's place is the best. Anyone who goes in there will never come out."
The skinny guy spat out, "Good my ass. Last week a school teacher went missing. They said he went into the convenience store. Damn it, the police went to look for him several times."
Meanwhile, in the convenience store across the street, Wang Ya had already pinned the person down.
She found a rope and tied up the unconscious landlady, then hid behind the door and peered through the crack in the door at the other side.
The van was still parked on the side of the road.
Wang Ya couldn't help but start to worry about Song Anmin.
Just then, Song Anmin started cursing into the phone: "Wang Ya started cursing halfway there. We decided to buy the bike together, and now she's blaming me. If we didn't have to go see my brother today, we would have gone back and would never have come to Lion Town. I wanted to leave her behind on the road!"
"Brother, the wife you found for me is really no good!"
"You're blaming me? Blaming me for what? She was waiting for me at the convenience store, and I just called you to say I was coming to see Ali! I was starving the whole way, and as soon as I got to town, there was a restaurant right there, and I was about to go in when she refused to leave, started arguing, and even joined the convenience store owner in cursing at me!!!"
The person on the other end of the phone quickly wrote it down.
"At the entrance of Lion Town, locate the area with restaurants and convenience stores."
Song Anmin grunted, "Damn it, I'm not talking anymore, I'm going to go have a smoke."
After hanging up the phone, Song Anmin realized he had no money on him and looked at the receptionist with an embarrassed expression. "Um... my money is with my wife. How about I pay with a cigarette? I only smoked one, haha, just one."
Song Anmin handed over the cigarette box.
The receptionist recognized it as a brand-name item, pouted, and said, "Fine, you can go now."
Song Anmin left the hotel and started walking back, but he didn't see Wang Ya by the roadside...
Song Anmin's heart jumped into his throat.
Holy crap!
Where are they?!
The motorcycle was still parked on the side of the road. Song Anmin pretended nothing had happened and continued walking towards the convenience store. When he got to the motorcycle, Song Anmin caught a glimpse of the people in the convenience store.
Song Anmin immediately started arguing with her again.
"You keep talking! You're determined to spill all the beans about this family stuff, aren't you!"
Immediately afterwards, Song Anmin stepped into the convenience store and stood in the most conspicuous position. Wang Ya was inside, and the unconscious proprietress was under the counter.
Song Anmin whispered quickly, "I've already told you the location, it should be soon."
Wang Ya: "You scared me to death just now! I thought something had happened to you!"
"You scared me to death! What happened?"
The proprietress had been very welcoming, inviting Wang Ya in. But as soon as Wang Ya stepped inside, she felt something was off; the hairs on her body stood on end. Almost instantly, she spotted the knife under the glass counter. Just as she looked up, the proprietress handed Wang Ya a glass of water.
Wang Ya took a small sip but didn't drink it, saying she needed to go to the restroom.
The proprietress was even happier. She took Wang Ya to the back and was about to hit Wang Ya with a stick when Wang Ya snatched the weapon and took the blow herself.
Wang Ya was afraid that the person would wake up halfway through, so she crouched down and dragged the person under the counter to watch over them.
Song Anmin's heart pounded as he silently counted down the time, waiting for the police to arrive.
