On New Year's Eve, Song Yingying had dinner at the Qin family's house.
She ate lunch at the Song family's house during the day and returned in the evening. Qin Zheng and his parents were there, as were members of the Qin family from a branch in the capital city. The whole family was present.
After the New Year's Eve dinner, Grandpa Qin gave red envelopes to the younger generation, including Qin Zheng and Song Yingying, as well as the children of three or four other uncles and cousins.
The Qin family home was bustling with activity, and it was still snowing outside.
Qin Zheng didn't want to play with a bunch of little brats, so he went back to his room to read. Only Song Yingying, the second oldest, was outside setting off firecrackers and fireworks with a group of boys and girls.
Lu Cai, the daughter-in-law of Grandpa Qin's cousin, was bored and asked Grandma Qin a question.
"Yingying should come back to China this year." She's been studying abroad for three or four years, it's time for her to come back. She's not a young girl anymore, what's she doing running around outside?
Grandma Qin's smile remained unchanged. "No rush. Yingying is still young and needs to pursue a master's degree. She should study more and learn more."
Lu Cai: "This girl is different from a son; it's better to settle down as soon as possible."
Grandma Qin smiled faintly, "These things depend on fate, and we're not in a hurry to urge Yingying to get married."
"I heard that the He family's son is quite good. He's about the same age as Yingying, and every time I see He Chenggong, he's following behind Yingying."
Grandma Qin pretended to be angry, "You can't say things like that. Chenggong has his own plans. The two of them are like brother and sister. If they hear these things after they've started their own families, don't blame others for being angry."
After Grandma Qin said that, the others had nothing more to say.
They were just trying to be helpful, and now it's their fault?
After seeing off the guests in the evening, the Qin family quieted down, and Qin Zheng's parents helped the housekeeper clean up.
Qin Zheng and Song Yingying were tidying up the table.
Grandma Qin glanced at her beloved granddaughter.
He Chenggong is a good boy, but his personality is not suitable for Yingying.
Once everything was almost tidied up, the family sat down in the living room. Grandma Qin coughed lightly:
"Now that everyone's here, let's get down to business."
Song Yingying glanced at Qin Zheng subconsciously.
"Qin Zheng is the older brother, and he's not getting any younger..."
"Grandma, I'm only twenty-two."
Grandma Qin clicked her tongue: "When you were twenty-two, your father and mother were already married."
Qin Zheng: "..."
“You’re graduating and going back to China this year. Once you’ve settled on a job, you should start thinking about your personal life. Your sister is still young, and as her older brother, you need to set a good example.”
Song Yingying was about to speak up for Qin Zheng when her grandmother glanced at her and said, "Don't say anything yet."
Song Yingying: "..."
Qin Zheng's parents both agreed with his mother's point and looked at their son with great anticipation.
Qin Zheng sighed and said, "Grandma, let's talk about it later. There's no rush."
Grandma Qin: "I'm just giving you a heads-up. You should pay more attention to this. I told you about this last year, but you didn't take it to heart. If you don't find someone next year, I'll arrange blind dates for you."
"It can't be that bad, Grandma." Qin Zheng then looked at Grandpa, "Grandpa?"
Grandpa Qin sipped his tea. "Why are you calling me? Just listen to your grandma."
After the conversation ended, Song Yingying shook her head and said to Qin Zheng, "Brother, you'd better take care of yourself."
Qin Zheng sneered, "You're just going to watch me make a fool of myself?"
Song Yingying widened her eyes and explained, "I didn't! I was just about to speak up for you, but I didn't get the chance!"
Upstairs, Grandma Qin urged Song Yingying to go upstairs and go to sleep.
"They're here."
Qin Zheng sighed.
This Chinese New Year, Grandpa Song and Grandma Song, along with Xu Guiying and Song Xinfu, brought their twins to the Qin family to pay their respects. The whole day was lively and cheerful. Grandpa and Grandma Qin really liked the twins; the two children were very good-looking and a delight to behold.

The Lunar New Year holiday passed in the blink of an eye.
Before they knew it, it was March and spring had arrived. Chen Zhou was busy with her postgraduate studies and also had to work at a law firm in her spare time. Song Jianmin was more free than her and spent his time looking at furniture and buying things to decorate the house.
On March 5th, Song Jianmin came to the Song family home to tell his parents about his upcoming marriage.
Grandpa, Grandma, and Second Sister-in-law were also at home, but Song Rongrong wasn't there.
After Song Jianmin finished speaking, Xu Guiying smiled and asked, "Have you chosen a date yet?"
Song Jianmin didn't expect his parents and grandparents to choose an auspicious date for him, and he was too embarrassed to ask. He said with a grin, "I went to Baiyun Temple to have someone calculate it, and it's June 28th!"
Song Xinfu looked the fifth brother up and down and asked with a smile, "What are you planning to do?"
Song Jianmin's plan was to hold the wedding at the same restaurant where his second brother and sister-in-law got married. After all, even though they had separated their families, his parents would still have to attend his wedding. Song Jianmin even wanted them to speak on stage.
Song Jianmin coughed lightly, "Anyway, that's all. Mom and Dad, Chen Zhou has no family left, you have to hold on for us."
After Chen Zhou went to university, she transferred her household registration to the school and had her own separate household registration book. Even if she got married, she would not need the consent of the Chen family.
Xu Guiying met the fifth brother's anxious, nervous yet expectant gaze and nodded, "Okay."
Song Jianmin breathed a sigh of relief.
With Song Jianmin's wedding just around the corner, Grandpa Song has started worrying about sending out invitations again.
Song Yun is now more than five months pregnant. When she has nothing to do, she talks to Song Jianmin about wedding precautions and customs, so that Chen Zhou won't feel wronged later.
Song Jianmin had prepared everything, from wedding quilts to dowry cabinets.
Everyone in Heping Lane knew that Chen Zhou was going to marry Song Jianmin. Old Sun was especially happy and said, "I've rented this house to you for so long. Now that you're married to Song Jianmin, I don't feel comfortable renting it to anyone else."
