Lin Zi's face turned red with anger as she glared at Song Rongrong, looking as if she wanted to skin her alive.
Song Rongrong frowned.
What exactly is Yan Huai up to?
Xu Guiying issued an ultimatum.
"Let me tell you, if you want to cause trouble, go back to your own home. This isn't a place for you to run wild! If you dare to talk nonsense again, don't blame us for being impolite!"
Lin Zi's face was extremely ugly. She glared at Xu Guiying and Qian Yu'an, then said to Song Rongrong:
"I'm telling you, I won't let you get away with this!"
Song Rongrong narrowed her eyes slightly, "Fine, I'm begging you, don't let me off the hook. If you're spreading rumors without evidence, don't blame me for calling the police!"
Lin Zi stomped her foot in anger and left Heping Lane in a disheveled state.
The three entered the house.
Before Xu Guiying could even ask a question, Song Rongrong raised her hand.
"Mom, I don't know, I really don't know what happened, I've never even met Yan Huai."
Qian Yu'an frowned: "Could it be that Yan Huai said something to you? Otherwise, how would Lin Zi know our home address?"
Xu Guiying's expression darkened slightly as she told Song Rongrong, "Be extra careful these next few days. Although I don't know what happened, even a rabbit will bite when cornered. Don't let her find a chance to cause trouble at your workplace."
Song Rongrong hummed in agreement, "Okay, Mom. Anyway, I'll be leaving in just a few days."
Song Rongrong grew angrier the more she thought about it.
What kind of trouble has Yan Huai gotten himself into this time?
You're always causing trouble. You're a married man, stop making a fuss!
Song Rongrong had already eaten dinner and went to the kitchen to help Qian Yu'an cook.
"Hey, where are Grandpa and Grandma?"
"He went to his second uncle's house. He said that Huimin has found a girlfriend, and his grandparents went to ask about it."
Song Huimin isn't much younger than Song Qiumin. He's been helping manage the new store for the past few years, so it's about time he started looking for a partner.
Fearing the conversation would turn back to her, Song Rongrong quickly changed the subject.
Xu Guiying was carrying Song Zhiyin for a walk in the courtyard when she suddenly burst out laughing in exasperation.
"I'm not rushing you! What's the hurry?"
Song Rongrong: "Oh my god, I didn't mean anything by it."
Since starting work, Song Rongrong hasn't had such a long break in a long time. She occasionally met up with Zhang Shu and even took some time to meet with her former college classmates.
Everyone only knew that Yan Huai was married, but no one knew about his relationship with Lin Zi.
Lin Zi hasn't come back since that day.
Song Rongrong remained vigilant and even invited Kong Boxue to dinner, asking him to keep an eye out for Yan Huai or Lin Zi if they had come to the TV station to see her.
Kong Boxue looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Seriously? That kid's already married, what's he up to now?"
Song Rongrong sighed, rubbing her forehead, and said, "How would I know?"
It's been over six years since she went abroad, and Yan Huai is already married, yet she still wants to get involved in all this messy stuff.
One such ex-boyfriend is Song Rongrong's criminal record.
Kong Boxue patted Song Rongrong on the shoulder, "Alright, anyway, everyone at work knows it's just Yan Huai harassing you, don't worry."
Song Rongrong took Kong Boxue directly to the hot pot restaurant they had eaten at last time.
After finishing their meal around 7 p.m., the two took a short walk.
Suddenly a voice came from behind.
"Song Rongrong!"
Song Rongrong found the name familiar.
Looking back, I was surprised to find it was Ying Zhengqing again.
Ying Zhengqing had several companions, some older and some younger, who were probably his colleagues or peers.
"It's you." Song Rongrong smiled gently.
Things are different now. Ying Zhengqing has become a big star. Zhang Shu is right. Even if you don't have feelings for him, you can't be too disrespectful to him.
Ying Zhengqing glanced at Kong Boxue, then looked at Song Rongrong: "And this is..."
Kong Boxue replied promptly, "Rongrong is my colleague. What a coincidence, running into a big star on the street."
Ying Zhengqing's smile instantly froze.
He moved the corners of his lips and asked, "I heard you went to another city to record a program. Are you getting used to it?"
Song Rongrong hummed in agreement and nodded: "I'm quite used to it. Changing my work environment is a good way to refresh my mind."
Kong Boxue's suspicious gaze swept over the two men's faces.
Ying Zhengqing's fingers twitched slightly. "I have something to do, so I have to go now. I'll treat you to a meal sometime. When are you coming back next time?"
Song Rongrong paused for a moment, then exclaimed "Ah!" before quickly regaining her composure. "The timing is still uncertain, maybe in a month or two."
Ying Zhengqing didn't say anything more, and nodded: "Then I'll be going now."
Song Rongrong: "Mm."
Ying Zhengqing turned and left. One of the men was called Hai Ge, who was Ying Zhengqing's manager.
"That's Song Rongrong?"
Ying Zhengqing's expression turned serious. He hummed in agreement, "Don't get any ideas. She has a proper job."
Hai Ge smiled and said, "I didn't say anything, I was just asking. She's quite good-looking."
Ying Zhengqing's expression remained unchanged as he said to Hai Ge, "She's a highly educated returnee from overseas; she wouldn't do what I do."
Hai Ge, whose thoughts had been exposed, could only laugh and say, "You're just so straightforward. I haven't even said anything yet."
Ying Zhengqing pursed his lips and said nothing more.
On the other side, Song Rongrong and Kong Boxue also walked away.
Kong Boxue couldn't help but say, "It's been so long, and he still remembers you."
Song Rongrong: "...Can't I even remember things?"
Kong Boxue: "I didn't mean that. Never mind, you didn't lose out."
Kong Boxue mimicked the new intern, saying, "Sister Rongrong, you have a big star friend now, please take good care of me in the future."
Song Rongrong couldn't help but laugh.
"I've figured it out, you're the one who should be acting in TV shows."
Kong Boxue: "Come on, my life motto is to become a journalist with a sense of responsibility and social responsibility!"
