The couple grabbed their documents and left.
Worried about the slippery road, Song Anmin didn't dare to ride his bike, so the two of them walked slowly to the hospital.
The test results didn't come out until almost noon.
She is indeed pregnant.
Song Anmin and Wang Ya could not hide their joy.
Song Anmin hurriedly asked, "Doctor, how is my wife's pregnancy? Is she malnourished or anything like that?"
The doctor smiled and said, "You're very healthy, young lady. What do you do for a living? Don't do anything dangerous. Be extra careful for the first and second three months and avoid strenuous exercise."
Song Anmin answered directly for Wang Ya, "She's a police officer!"
The doctor glanced at Wang Ya a few more times. "A police officer? Then we need to be even more careful."
Wang Ya is one month pregnant, and her due date is in late August next year.
It was late summer, so it wasn't too hot during my postpartum period.
After leaving the hospital, the young couple stopped by the police station on their way home to apply for a job transfer.
Officer Zhao smiled and said, "Anmin came to ask for leave this morning. I figured Wang Ya was in great health, so what could possibly happen to her? Congratulations!"
We're all old acquaintances.
Wang Ya felt a little embarrassed, "Thank you all for your help during this time."
"What are you talking about? Our institute doesn't need another person like you."
After leaving the police station, the two returned to Heping Lane.
The smile on Song Anmin's face never left.
Wang Ya stared at his face and couldn't help but say, "You were lying before that you didn't want a baby, weren't you?"
Song Anmin's expression immediately turned serious. "Leader, what are you saying? You've completely slandered my pure and innocent heart."
Wang Ya: "..."
Wang Ya's heart softened. "Alright, alright, just kidding."
Song Anmin's expression remained serious. "I'm serious. If I'm pregnant, I definitely have to give birth. You don't want me to laugh, do you want me to cry?"
Wang Ya laughed, "I'm not talking to you anymore, I'm leaving, going home."
Song Anmin held her hand, and the two walked slowly.
Xu Guiying and Song Xinfu retired last year, and Phoenix Pavilion has now opened its fourth branch. Even in retirement, their lives remain rich and busy.
Back home, after the two had lunch, Song Anmin went to the Song family home to share the good news with his grandparents: Song Muchuan and Song Zhiyin, the siblings, had started kindergarten. His grandparents were overjoyed; their third child had a baby, adding a new member to the family. The elderly couple stayed until evening.
In the evening, Grandpa Song went back to the Song family home. Soon after, Song Xinfu, Xu Guiying, and Qian Yu'an arrived with their twins.
Before long, Xu Songyuan and Song Yun arrived with Song Xiaoxiao and Mo Baiyuan, along with Lao Wu and his wife.
The main room of the third brother's house was full of people.
Everyone chimed in with their own comments, creating a lively atmosphere. Xu Guiying repeatedly reminded Wang Ya to be careful and told Lao San to come home early after work to take good care of Wang Ya.
Song Anmin quickly nodded and agreed.
When Song Mingzhou, that little rascal, saw that his older brother, older sister, and uncle were all there, he pulled them to play hide-and-seek.
Song Jianmin grabbed Song Mingzhou and said, "You brat, stay away from your third aunt from now on, understand?"
Song Mingzhou tilted his head back and asked, "Dad, why?"
"Because your third aunt is pregnant with a younger brother or sister, she can't be bumped or jostled, do you understand?"
Song Mingzhou gave a confused "Oh," and then asked, "Does Mommy have one in her tummy?"
Song Jianmin gritted his teeth: "No! You alone are enough!"
Song Mingzhou mumbled "okay" again, still somewhat dazed, then broke free from Song Jianmin's embrace, ran into the house, and said to Wang Ya, "Third Aunt, I will protect you!!!"
The adults inside burst into laughter.
