The unexpected death of Song Yangmin dealt a heavy blow to the Song family.
After Song Yangmin's funeral, Xu Guiying set her sights on the third son.
Since the second son's accident, the third son has moved back to live in Heping Lane from the factory. Xu Guiying didn't have time to deal with the third son before, but now she has the time.
Three days after Song Yangmin was buried.
When Song Anmin returned home, he found that his two bags of luggage had been left at the front door.
Song Anmin stared in disbelief at the scene, circling the two large bags again and again.
Upon entering, the fifth brother was peeling potatoes at the kitchen doorway. He saw the third brother and gave him a sympathetic look.
"Dad, Mom!" Song Anmin looked at his parents in the main room with a pained expression.
Song Xinfu smoked a cigarette, his tired eyes falling on the third brother.
"What are you yelling about?!"
Song Anmin's lips trembled. "I've already gone home, and you still want to kick me out?!"
Xu Guiying was mending clothes. She glanced at her third son and said, "I was too busy to take care of you before. Now that everything's settled, you can go. Next time you have a day off, we'll divide the family property."
Song Anmin suddenly took a large step back. "Mom, you're joking. I know I was wrong about Jiang Hong. I really know I was wrong. I promise I won't do it again!"
Xu Guiying said expressionlessly, "You said the same thing when you wanted to gamble. Your grandfather and I advised you to stay away from Jiang Hong, but you didn't listen. You won't listen to this, and you'll listen to even more things in the future. Third son, your father and I can't control you. Go out and find someone who can control you."
Song Anmin burst into tears. "Mom and Dad, I really know I was wrong. I promise I won't do it again. I swear, I'll listen to you in everything."
“It’s not appropriate for only the fifth child to do the work at home. I can do it. I can cook, do laundry, dig the floor, and weed.”
In the past, no one was willing to do these jobs voluntarily.
Only the second son would do things silently, and only the second son inherited the hardworking nature of Xu Guiying and her husband.
Xu Guiying stood up, pointed outside, and said, "Third brother, you should leave. Don't stay."
Song Anmin cried with tears streaming down his face, "Mom!"
Xu Guiying was annoyed by her third son's crying. "Hurry up and get out of here. How old are you and still crying?"
Song Anmin then went to ask Song Xinfu for help.
Song Xinfu was too lazy to talk to him anymore, so he grabbed the third brother and walked out.
Song Jianmin gripped the potato in his hand tightly.
It's a good thing I didn't plead for the third brother, otherwise he would have been kicked out too.
Song Rongrong and Song Yingying were both in the room and saw through the window that Lao San was dragged away.
Song Rongrong has lost a lot of weight: "When will Third Brother be able to change his bad temper?"
Song Yingying's face was pale, and she rested her chin on her hand. "Fourth Sister, I never want to leave home in my life."
Song Rongrong's eyes stung with tears.
After her second brother left, Song Rongrong no longer wanted to go abroad; she wanted to stay at home.
Outside, the sound of Song Anmin shouting and yelling could be heard throughout the entire Heping Lane.
When Aunt Wang went out to look, she saw the third son sitting outside the Song family's gate like an unwanted dog.
He cried without any regard for his image, just like when he was a child and couldn't get money to buy popsicles.
Song Anmin, halfway through his crying, noticed Aunt Wang and said, "Aunt Wang, please help me persuade my mother. I know I was wrong, but can't I have a chance to correct my mistakes?!"
That brat!
Aunt Wang wouldn't listen to him; she went back into the house and got Song Anmin a steamed bun.
"Take your time, eat on the way."
It was still snowing outside. Song Anmin felt like the little match girl, homeless and destined to freeze to death in some corner of the capital city sooner or later.
Besides his second brother, is there anyone in the world more miserable than him?
Song Anmin looked up at the sky at a 45-degree angle, and snowflakes fell into his mouth.
It's really cold.
Liu Aimei was standing outside with a bowl in her hand when she saw Song Anmin and mocked, "Oh, you got kicked out again? If you ask me, your mother has kicked you out so many times, why are you still begging to go back?"
Song Anmin sneered, "I'll take that back from you. You bought a house but still want to live in this shabby place. Aren't you just after your parents' money and jobs?!"
Liu Aimei's expression changed slightly, "You!"
Song Anmin: "Let me tell you straight, don't even think about it! Liu Aimei, where are you acting as a sister-in-law? There have been so many things going on at home lately, what have you done besides shirking your responsibilities!"
Song Anmin talked more and more: "That's right, why don't you take your eldest brother back to your parents' home and let him be your brother's slave? Your brother really lives up to his name, Liu Qiangdao, Liu Qiangdao. I think your whole Liu family are robbers, even your parents' family is corrupt!"
"Your cousin is still flirting with men everywhere, and you're still seeing her? Don't let her cheat on your boss one day!"
Liu Aimei was absolutely furious with Song Anmin's mouth.
She threw the bowl directly at Song Anmin's face.
"Song Anmin, you beast, what are you going to do if you say another word of nonsense!"
Song Anmin took a step back, not a single grain of rice sticking to him. "What? I was just making a reasonable guess!"
Song Guomin strode out, his face stern. "Song Anmin, what nonsense are you spouting?!"
Song Anmin wasn't afraid of his boss. He crossed his arms and snorted, "Boss, let me remind you, Cousin Liu Aimei is no good. They all share the same blood. You'd better be careful, or you might end up playing the role of our aunt."
Song Guomin gritted his teeth and clenched his fists tightly. "Song Anmin, this is your sister-in-law!"
Song Anmin scoffed, "I don't even acknowledge you as my elder brother, let alone my sister-in-law!"
Liu Aimei wanted nothing more than to tear Song Anmin's mouth apart. "Shut up! How could you be so despicable? No wonder your parents kicked you out. You brought it on yourself! Someone like you is destined to die alone!"
The snow was falling heavier and heavier, and Song Anmin was too lazy to argue with the couple.
"Get out of here, I'm leaving!"
Song Guomin stared intently at Song Anmin's retreating figure, "Song Anmin, you'll never be able to return to the Song family in this lifetime!"
"Song Guomin, you are the one who is least likely to go home!"
Song Guomin kicked the stool over in anger.
Yan Yan and Lele were startled and huddled inside the room, too scared to come out.
Liu Aimei frowned deeply. "Song Guomin, it's almost Chinese New Year, what if your parents still don't let us go back?!"
Song Guomin was filled with anger and resentment, and roared, "You're asking me? How would I know?!"
Liu Aimei: "I asked you a perfectly normal question, why are you being so fierce?!"
That night, Song Guomin and Liu Aimei got into another argument.
Old Sun from the next yard was so angry he was cursing. He was going to kick Song Guomin out tomorrow!
Damn it, they argue every day, and if they can't stand it anymore, they'll get a divorce!
...
When Song Anmin left Heping Lane, he saw thousands of lights shining brightly outside, a warm and welcoming scene, but he, Song Anmin, was homeless.
Song Anmin's face was covered in tears.
How could Mom and Dad be so heartless as to kick him out? The New Year is almost here, are they not even going to let him come home for the holiday?!
Song Anmin returned to the factory and bought a handful of noodles at the factory store. Luckily, there was a small pot and honeycomb briquettes in the dormitory where he could cook the noodles.
There is another person in the dormitory.
"Song Laosan, what brings you back?"
Song Anmin smiled and said, "My family is visiting and there's not enough room for me, so I'll make do in the dorm for a while."
