Over the next few days, Xu Guiying visited Qian Yu'an at the shop twice. Qian Yu'an had lost a lot of weight and promised Xu Guiying that he would live a good life from now on.
The atmosphere at the Song family home remained somber.
After finishing her studies each day, Song Yingying would help Song Jianmin with chores to lighten the burden on her uncle and aunt as much as possible.
Before we knew it, the final exams were upon us.
After finishing the last exam, the results will be released in five days.
After finishing the exam, Song Yingying was absolutely certain that she would get first place in the grade.
Qin Baohua waited for Song Yingying outside the classroom.
Song Yingying asked curiously, "Butler Qin, what brings you here?"
Qin Baohua smiled and said, "You and Azheng have both finished your exams today, let's go have a meal together."
Song Yingying frowned. "Dinner? But I need to go home and tell my uncle and aunt."
Qin Baohua smiled and said, "It's 4:30 now. After you finish eating, I'll take you home no later than 6:00."
Song Yingying went back to the classroom, glanced at the wall clock, and came out, saying, "Okay then."
Qin Baohua took the schoolbag from Song Yingying's hand.
Song Yingying snatched it back, saying, "I can carry it myself, no need to trouble you."
Qin Baohua did not insist and walked out of the school with Song Yingying.
Qin Zheng has already boarded the bus.
What's rare is that today it was Grandpa Qin who picked him up, and it was also Grandpa Qin who suggested having dinner, saying that he wanted to meet Song Yingying.
Qin Zheng was puzzled, but his grandfather was not a difficult person to get along with. Song Yingying had good grades, so his grandfather would not make things difficult for her.
Qin Baohua was driving.
After Song Yingying got into the back seat, she noticed that there was someone in the passenger seat. She exclaimed in surprise and immediately turned to look at Qin Zheng.
Qin Zheng's brow twitched slightly.
The old man turned around, revealing what he thought was a kind smile. "Is this Yingying? I'm Qin Zheng's grandfather."
A hint of surprise flashed in Song Yingying's eyes, then she nodded and politely replied, "Hello, Grandpa, I am Song Yingying."
The car started moving.
Grandpa Qin said gently, "Are you all hungry? We'll be there soon."
Song Yingying quickly shook her head, "Grandpa Qin, I'm not hungry."
“We don’t have a granddaughter, so you can call him Grandpa like Qin Zheng does.”
Song Yingying's eyes deepened with doubt as she looked at Qin Zheng again.
Qin Zheng gave him a 'don't ask me' look.
Song Yingying twitched her fingers slightly and could only call out "Grandpa".
Old Master Qin's eyes welled up with tears, and he said with difficulty, "Alright, alright."
The meal was at a famous restaurant in the city. Song Yingying had never been there before, but there were many cars parked outside. The person in charge at the door was polite and respectful, leading them inside.
Song Yingying, carrying her schoolbag, looked around curiously and blinked.
She whispered to Qin Zheng, "This place is so luxurious. It's my first time here. My aunt and uncle have never been here before."
Qin Zheng: "Hmm, the taste is so-so, barely edible."
Song Yingying: "..."
When Grandpa Qin heard Song Yingying's words from two steps away from the two, he felt both relieved and saddened.
This child was raised very well by the Song family; he was excessively sensible.
The four of them entered the private room and took their seats.
Qin Baohua sat next to the old man, Qin Zheng sat on the other side of the old man, and Song Yingying sat next to Qin Zheng.
Once things quieted down, Song Yingying felt a little awkward.
She thought for a moment, and realized that Qin Zheng was here; he would speak his mind.
With a concerned expression, Grandpa Qin asked Song Yingying about her life at school, inquired about her previous injury, and asked how she was doing at the Song family home.
Song Yingying had her doubts, but she still told the truth.
"I usually eat lunch with Qin Zheng. Grandpa, thank you for preparing my meal as well."
Grandpa Qin's smile deepened. "No need to thank me. Is there anything else you like? I'll cook more for you in the future."
Song Yingying's eyes widened, and she looked flattered. "No need, I'm not picky about food, I eat everything."
Qin Zheng glanced at his grandfather and said, "Let's eat."
Grandpa Qin glared at his eldest grandson, then quickly served the dishes. The old man then said gently to Song Yingying, "See if there's anything else you'd like to eat."
Song Yingying quickly shook her head, "That's enough, that's enough."
It only quieted down after the meal.
At 5:40, Song Yingying was sent back to Heping Lane.
Song Yingying politely said goodbye, "Grandpa, thank you for today."
The old man said warmly, "Let's have dinner together next time. Go back now."
Wait until the car has driven far away.
Qin Zheng couldn't help but ask, "Grandpa, what's wrong with you today?"
The old man had already moved to the back seat. He patted his eldest grandson on the shoulder and said, "Ah Zheng, you've done a good deed."
Qin Zheng pondered, "Grandpa was referring to the time he saved Song Yingying?"
"good."
If it weren't for Qin Zheng, Song Yingying would have been in serious trouble, and they would never have known about her.
Everything is cause and effect.
They took Qin Zheng back to his home, and the driver was changed from Qin Baohua to someone brought by the old man.
Qin Baohua handed the strand of hair to the old man.
After getting into the car, the old man handed the document to the driver, saying, "Check it quickly."
"Also, investigate Song Yingying's second brother's matter again; it seems his name is Song Yangmin."
"yes."
...
Song Yingying returned to the Song family home. Xu Guiying was busy putting up couplets in the main room. Song Yingying went over to help her with the paste. Lao Wu was cooking in the kitchen.
Song Yingying told me about her encounter with Grandpa Qin today.
Xu Guiying asked in surprise, "You ate dinner? Did you say anything else?"
Song Yingying: "They asked about my studies and how I was doing at home."
Xu Guiying hissed, unable to come up with a solution, and told Song Yingying to be more careful in the future.
Qin Zheng seems like a good person, but his family members might not be.
Song Yingying nodded. She had told her aunt about it, but didn't want to tell her fifth brother. He was a blabbermouth, and if he found out, her eldest brother and sister-in-law would probably find out too.
