Fang Yuyang first parked the car with the front facing outwards and the rear facing inwards at the entrance of the residential area, then opened the rear door, which blocked the zombies on both sides.
Inside the carriage, a sweet-looking girl in her early twenties was handing the children out one by one, saying, "Don't be afraid, kids, Uncle Chen is here to save us!"
The girl who handed over the child was Nan Qiao, a teacher at the base's kindergarten and also Fang Yuyang's lover. That's how she met Chen Zhou, who was in the same unit as Fang Yuyang.
Chen Zhou instructed everyone to shoot at the zombies that were trying to crash into the car door.
She went to take the child that was handed to her.
These children are all three to five years old. Except for the youngest one, who is a girl, the rest are all boys. The girl was the one who started crying first, and her eyes are still red.
The little girl recognized Chen Zhou and immediately hugged his arm upon seeing him, crying, "Waaah, Uncle Chen Zhou..."
After all the adults and five children in the trunk of the car had safely entered the residential area, Chen Zhou called to Fang Yuyang, who was driving: "Park the car to the side, and climb out through the window closest to us."
But Fang Yuyang acted as if he hadn't heard, stepped on the gas and drove straight toward the zombie.
Nan Qiao immediately sensed something was wrong and shouted at Fang Yuyang, "Yuyang, where are you going?"
Fang Yuyang and Nan Qiao had just gotten their marriage certificate before the apocalypse, and their relationship was very good. After hearing Nan Qiao's voice, he stopped the car, then rolled down the window a crack and said to Nan Qiao with his heart full of grief, "When I got into the driver's seat just now, I felt like I was being grabbed on the back. I was afraid that if I went over there, I would turn into a zombie and hurt you!"
Nan Qiao panicked when she heard Fang Yuyang say that his shoulder had been grabbed, but she quickly calmed down: "It's not necessarily true. You can't see it from behind. What if he didn't grab me?"
Fang Yuyang also harbored a glimmer of hope.
But just as he put his back on Mingming, he felt a chill. Now that the children they were supposed to protect and his loved ones were safely inside the community, he was worried that if they really did turn into zombies and hurt them, it would be terrible: "It's better to be safe than sorry. You should listen to me and take the children to live well in the community. We sent a message to the relevant departments before, and we believe that they will come to rescue you as soon as they rebuild the shelter!"
Aunt Fang was originally inside the residential area.
Hearing that her son was leaving, she shakily climbed onto the roof of the car: "Xiao Yuyang, come back here!!!"
Seeing his mother's face in the rearview mirror, Fang Yuyang burst into tears. When the East Suburbs Shelter was captured, his mother was among the first batch of people to be evacuated. It was his mother who asked Chen Zhou to knock him unconscious and throw him into the car so that he and Nan Qiao could survive.
He essentially owes his mother two lives.
Seeing his mother calling for him anxiously, he choked up and couldn't speak: "Mom..."
Nan Qiao sensed that Fang Yuyang's resolve to die had wavered because of his mother's appearance. She stepped forward, took his mother's arm, and said to Fang Yuyang, "Yuyang, don't you want to see what your unborn baby looks like?"
Upon hearing this, Aunt Fang and Fang Yuyang were overjoyed and exclaimed in unison, "You're pregnant?"
Nan Qiao lowered her head shyly: "That period hasn't come for two months, it should be..."
Just as Fang Yuyang was overjoyed, the zombie smashed through his car window.
He had already made up his mind to die, but now that he heard that Nan Qiao was pregnant with his child, he didn't want to die like this no matter what. He grabbed the butt of his gun and smashed the head of the zombie that had crashed through the glass with the butt of the gun, not giving the other zombies a chance to climb into his car. He revved the engine and reversed the car. Then, when he was about a car's distance from the residential area, he swerved the steering wheel and stopped in front of the other trucks in the residential area.
Song Chi and Zhou Ya both had some complaints.
However, since the survivors in this community were all people from the original East Suburb Base, and they were all friends with Fang Yuyang.
Upon entering the residential area, Nan Qiao's first action was to check Fang Yuyang's back injury.
But then we saw that his heavy military uniform had been torn open.
However, the cotton shirt inside was not torn.

Fang Yuyang also thought the suggestion was good. He carried water and food, walked into Building 1, found a room with an open but unlocked and undamaged door, went inside, and locked the door. He said to Nan Qiao through the door, "If I'm still normal tomorrow, we'll see each other again."
Nan Qiao nodded and walked out of the unit door of Building 1.
Song Chi was still worried, so he specially dragged a sofa from the first floor to block the door of this unit in Building 1. When he saw that everyone was looking at him, he quickly explained, "I didn't mean anything by it. People are selfish when they are facing death. I just wanted to take precautions."
Aunt Fang was furious. She had been taking good care of Song Xing these past few days, and now that her son was in trouble, Song Chi actually said such a thing: "He's already locked inside the house. My son isn't that kind of person!"
