Just as Tian Mingbo poured out all the vaccine from the petri dish, Tang Rui's phone rang. The caller ID showed Tang Xin as the caller.
Tang Xin is far more shrewd than her sister Tang Rui.
They're not easy to fool.
So Tian Mingbo hung up without even thinking.
But to everyone's surprise, Tang Xin kept calling.
Tian Mingbo was worried that Tang Xin would become suspicious if he didn't answer the phone, but Tang Rui had just received the vaccine, and the nanomaterials had not yet fully entered her brain, so he couldn't completely control her.
Tian Mingbo could only change the video to voice before answering the phone: "Is this Tang Xin? Are you looking for your sister?"
Tang Xin was very confused when she realized it wasn't her sister's voice: "Who are you? Why are you holding my sister's phone?"
Tian Mingbo replied, "You must be Tang Rui's sister, Tang Xin. I am Tang Rui's department head. My old leg pain flared up and I couldn't stand up, so I asked Tang Rui to report to the leader for me. She can't use her phone when she reports, so she left it with me for safekeeping. What do you need her for? I'll pass it on to her in a bit."
The rule against bringing cell phones into the leaders' offices was established by Tang Xin.
Hearing Tian Mingbo say that his sister didn't bring her phone when reporting on her work.
Tang Xin didn't say anything more.
But she felt something was off, so she said, "I just miss my sister and want to hear her voice. Could you please ask the director to have my sister call me back after she finishes her report?"
Her sister is already like this.
There's no way I'll ever call her back, no matter what.
Tian Mingbo's face froze. Fortunately, he had chosen voice instead of video, so the person on the other end couldn't see his expression. He tried his best to make his tone sound calm and even: "Okay, I'll pass it on to him."
After hanging up the phone, Tian Mingbo immediately sent a message on his own phone: Things have changed, we must act in advance.
On this side of the tank.
After exiting the provincial highway, the roads became dirt roads, which slowed down the car considerably.
The group was exhausted and drowsy.
Grandpa Gu made a difficult request: "Could you stop the car so I can use the restroom?"
There's nothing you can do about the three urgent needs of life, especially since Grandpa Gu is old and naturally spends less time in the toilet than younger people.
Tang Xin immediately decided to stop the car and let everyone who needed to use the restroom go outside.
One by one, the group went out to find a place to relieve themselves.
When no one was looking, Wang Xiangyang walked up to Chen Zhou, who was placed at the back of the chariot, and secretly untied the iron chains binding him. He then gave Chen Zhou the order to hunt down and kill everyone in the chariot after he left.
The previously rampaging ship stopped moving and became unusually quiet after receiving the order.
The journey was so bumpy that the people coming and going didn't notice this detail.
After everyone finished using the restroom and returned to their seats, they continued to rest with their eyes closed.
When Tang Xin told everyone to sit down and that they were about to set off again, Wang Mingyang stood up and said, "I... I need to go out to use the restroom."
Tang Xin frowned unhappily: "I've been calling out for ages if anyone else needs to go out to relieve themselves. Why didn't you say that earlier?"
Wang Xiangyang hurriedly apologized to Tang Xin: "I didn't want to go just now, but I don't know why you said you were leaving, and suddenly I wanted to..."
This Wang Xiangyang wasn't one of her soldiers; she had borrowed him from another department, and he was already as old as her uncle.
Tang Xin couldn't treat him like she would her own soldiers, letting him wet his pants. She could only urge him, "Go and come back quickly!"
After Wang Xiangyang agreed, he quickly climbed out of the chariot and immediately closed the cover of the entrance. In order to prevent Chen Zhou from biting them later, they pushed open the entrance on the roof from the inside and climbed out. Wang Xiangyang sat directly on the roof of the chariot.
The tank's monitoring system recorded all of this.
However, everyone was resting with their eyes closed, waiting for Wang Xiangyang to return, and did not notice the surveillance footage.
Sitting in the last sunken ship, I had my eyes closed and was quietly sitting in my seat.
After Wang Xiangyang got off the chariot, he suddenly opened his bloodshot eyes. When Li Jianguo saw that Shen Zhou had his eyes open, he moved closer to Shen Zhou, took out a can of beer that had been packed from the banquet, and proudly handed it to Shen Zhou, whose mouth was stuffed with a rag: "Brother has beer to drink, aren't you envious?"
Li Jianguo originally only intended to tease the sunken ship.
After all, the journey was too boring.
Unexpectedly, Chen Zhou suddenly broke free of the iron chains, removed the rag from his mouth, and pounced on him.
Li Jianguo was completely dumbfounded: "This is not scientific. How did you break free of the iron chains?"
With bloodshot eyes, Shen Zhou didn't respond to Li Jianguo's question and immediately bit down on Li Jianguo's neck. The distance was too short.
With no way to avoid it, Li Jianguo, in desperation, shoved the can of beer in his hand into Chen Zhou's mouth: "I won't tease you anymore, here you go, take it all, okay?"
Chen Zhou spat out his beer and lunged at Li Jianguo again.
This unexpected turn of events instantly snapped the others, who were dozing off in the tank, back to reality.
The tank was very small, and the sniper rifle and bow could not be drawn. Everyone was afraid of damaging the instruments inside the tank, so they dared not fire easily.
Yan Ling wanted to use a dagger to kill Chen Zhou, but Chen Zhou seemed to be consciously grabbing Li Jianguo's baseball bat, turning it around to strangle him, and using him to block Yan Ling's dagger.
Seeing that it was Li Jianguo's big face that was handed to him, Yan Ling could only awkwardly put away the dagger.
Seeing this, Qiao An'an drew her longsword and tried to launch a sneak attack from behind. However, in the cramped space where she couldn't even stand up straight, she couldn't swing the sword quickly. After Chen Zhou reacted, he threw Li Jianguo towards Qiao An'an.
As Shen Zhou threw Li Jianguo away, he pounced on Zhang Tao, who was moving in the opposite direction. Before Zhang Tao could react, Shen Zhou had already bitten his neck.
Tang Xin immediately sensed something was wrong. Without caring whether it would damage the inside of the tank, she raised her gun and fired.
But Shen Zhou used Zhang Tao as a shield to block the bullet.
The bullet hit Zhang Tao in the stomach, but not in the head. Zhang Tao was on the verge of turning into a zombie.
One sunken ship was already difficult enough to deal with. If there was another Zhang Tao, they would likely all turn into zombies in such a confined space. Qiao An'an hurriedly said to Xue Gang, who was closest to the car entrance, "Open the door, get out first, and then we'll figure out how to deal with them!"
Xue Gang pressed the power button and tried to push the door open, but it wouldn't budge: "Is it stuck?"
Chi Xiaoyu stared at the monitor screen of the tank and said coldly, "It shouldn't be stuck."
Following Chi Xiaoyu's gaze, everyone noticed in the surveillance footage that Wang Xiangyang was using all his strength to press down on the tank's entrance. He was on top, and his entire weight was on the entrance, making it impossible for anyone inside to open it from below.
Li Jianguo then noticed that the iron chains binding the sunken boat hadn't broken; they had been deliberately untied. He shook his head at Tang Xin, saying, "These chains were probably untied by your people too. You, the commander, have terrible judgment! You actually hired a spy!!!"
P.S.: Happy Children's Day to all the little ones passing by!
