After distributing clothes and shoes to the children, Qiao An'an joined everyone in building houses for the chickens and miniature pigs that they had brought from the wooden house.
Of the seven chickens, six were hens, but only five laid eggs. One of them had already started brooding. When they were in the small yard, Qiao An'an didn't want the hens to brood because there were only five of them. A hen could lay eggs for at least two years, and she didn't want to raise too many chickens at once, fearing there wouldn't be enough food to feed them. So she would take away the eggs each time.
Now they have arrived at the prison base.
The base is not only large enough, but also has two very sturdy walls for protection, so there is no need to worry about sound or light.
Qiao An'an decided to let the hen hatch more chicks, so that at least these chicks could have an egg every day.
The two piglets born to the miniature pig have grown quite a bit, and the miniature pig is almost ready to give birth again. This time, she plans to raise all the piglets to adulthood so that they will still have meat to eat when the meat in the refrigerator runs out.
After Qiao An'an led everyone to arrange rooms for the chickens and pigs, she put the fish from the bucket into the large water tank in the kitchen to keep them alive. Only then did she begin to arrange rooms for the newly arrived Grandpa Gu, Aunt Fang, Nan Qiao, and the children.
Actually, it's not that complicated to arrange.
There are many cubicles on the second floor, each with a bed. They will be given a cubicle in order. To make it easier for the elderly and pregnant women, Qiao An'an gave the room closest to the stairs to Grandpa Gu, Aunt Fang, and Nan Qiao.
These rooms all have bunk beds. Previously, they were given individual rooms because they were afraid that the rescued children might have been infected and the cases wouldn't be reported. Now that they are all family members, many people have chosen to live together. For example, Qiao An'an and Ya Ya chose to share a room. Qiao An'an was worried that Ya Ya would be a restless sleeper, so she arranged all of Ya Ya's things on the lower bunk.
Gu Bei also chose to sleep in the same cubicle as his grandfather, but he gave up the lower bunk to his grandfather.
Aunt Fang originally wanted to sleep in the same room as Nan Qiao and take care of her, but Fang Yuyang refused: "Mom, you're old and a light sleeper. You'll wake up if my wife turns over. I'd better take care of my wife myself."
The group of friends each chose to live with someone they got along well with.
Only Ye Jing stood alone to the side.
After assigning rooms to everyone, Qiao An'an found a very soft bed for Dahei, carefully placed it on the bed, and gently stroked its head: "You must get better soon!"
Big Black weakly nuzzled Qiao An'an's hand with its nose in response.
Qin Chengguo handed Dahei over to Qiao An'an, and before he could even choose a room, Qi Feng took him to see Yan Ling.
Yan Ling looked worse than last night; she seemed drowsy and lethargic.

After arranging everything, Qiao An'an told the baby girls to take their new clothes and go to the bathroom on the first floor to take a bath and change.
Water is extremely scarce in our neighborhood, and these children haven't had a bath in ages. They were so excited when they heard they could finally take a bath: "Great! I want to take a bath!!!"
The boys said they wanted to take a bath too: "What about us?"
Qiao An'an found a piece of paper and stuck it on the bathroom door: "Ladies first. This is the women's bathhouse from 4 to 5 pm every day, and the men's bathhouse is from 5 to 6 pm every day. You can shower after 5 pm. Now help Aunt Fang pick vegetables. We're going to have a big meal tonight."
As long as it can be washed, that's fine.
The boys all went to the kitchen to help, some peeling garlic, others picking vegetables.
After the baby girls had their baths, they were all dressed in new clothes and had some baby cream that Qiao An'an had found at the mall applied. They all looked radiant and very pleasing to the eye.
Especially Chi Xiaoyu, her neat short hair has grown a bit longer. You couldn't tell before because she didn't wash her hair often, but now that it's washed and dried, it has become a layered wolf-hair hairstyle, which perfectly matches her cool and aloof mature face. She also wore the pink hoodie that Qiao An'an gave her, paired with a denim jacket and black cargo pants. Not only did it not look out of place, but it also made her look cool and eye-catching.
The group of young men and women were stunned: "Sister is so cool!"
Gu Bei proudly declared, "That's right, my little sister Xiaoyu is the most beautiful!!!"
Dinner was very plentiful, including braised pork ribs, steamed fish, cold shredded potatoes, boiled sliced meat, braised beef brisket with tomatoes, minced meat and eggplant, and a cold dandelion salad. The tomatoes and eggplant were frozen, so they didn't affect the taste at all after cooking. The dandelions were dug up by Aunt Fang and a group of children in the courtyard outside the prison. All the dishes were made in duplicate: one non-spicy version for the children and pregnant women, and one spicy and flavorful version for the adults.
The seats in the lobby on the first floor were also neatly arranged in two rows.
Children sat in one row, and adults sat in another.
Qiao An'an arranged for Ya Ya to sit among a group of children, then turned around and sat at the adults' table. Ye Jing immediately sat down next to Qiao An'an.
Chi Xiaoyu kicked Ye Jing's seat: "This is my seat!"
Ye Jing retorted, "Did I write your name on it?"
Qiao An'an felt that the two were about to start fighting, so she pulled Chi Xiaoyu to sit on her other side: "You sit here."
