Chapter 172 Sea Fish Falling from the Sky

Ye Jing was very confident in his tools.

Completely ignoring Grandpa Yan's words, he squatted down on the deck with a fishing net and said, "You guys just wait to eat fish at noon!"

As a result, Ye Jing didn't catch a single fish by noon.

To ease the awkwardness, he shoveled rice into his mouth while confidently declaring, "I'll definitely catch a fish before dinner!"

But Ye Jing hadn't caught a fish by sunset. The fish in the sea had very sharp teeth and bit through his plastic fishing line in one bite, taking his hook and bait with them.

Ye Jing pulled the empty plastic rope out of the sea and said dejectedly, "I...it seems I really can't catch any fish."

While stir-frying the beef and putting it into a clay pot to make tomato beef brisket stew, Qiao An'an comforted Ye Jing: "If we can't catch it, we can't catch it. There's still meat in the refrigerator. We can just eat less meat for the next two weeks."

Grandpa Yan had been lying in a deck chair under the sail since morning, watching Ye Jing fish.

After Ye Jing told him he couldn't catch any fish.

Grandpa Yan calmly stood up from his recliner, coughed lightly, and said, "Fishing doesn't have to be so complicated. In ten minutes, I'll catch a whole boatload of fish for you."

Now, not only Ye Jing and Qiao An'an, but even Chi Xiaoyu, who rarely spoke, unconsciously turned her gaze to Grandpa Yan, wanting to see how this stubborn Grandpa Yan would smooth things over.

Only Ya Ya, who loves eating fish, clapped her hands and said, "A boatload of fish, does that mean we'll never run out of fish to eat?!"

Grandpa Yan raised the sail and steered the yacht to an open sea area, then furled the sail.

The sea was calm and still.

A gentle breeze was blowing.

After the sails were lowered, the boat came to a complete stop.

No one knew what Grandpa Yan was going to do, but he pointed ahead and said to everyone, "Look."

Everyone followed Grandpa Yan's gaze and saw several seagulls circling over the blue sea, with the setting sun slowly sinking in the distance. The surroundings were peaceful and serene. What did Grandpa Yan want them to see?

Ye Jing couldn't help but ask, "There's nothing here, what are you looking at?"

Grandpa Yan didn't answer Ye Jing, but instead started counting down: "Five, four, three, two..."

In fact, when Grandpa Yan counted to three, everyone saw the seawater on the side of the yacht swirling. As soon as Grandpa Yan said "one," countless fish immediately leaped out of the sea and rushed towards their yacht, as if a rain of fish was falling on the yacht.

Many fish did not cross the yacht.

It landed directly on the yacht.

Fearing the fish might hit someone, Qiao An'an quickly used her hands to protect Ya Ya's head.

The rain of fish lasted for less than a minute. Some of the fish that fell onto the yacht lay their eggs on the deck for a while before returning to the sea, while others struggled to get back into the ocean despite flapping their tails for a long time.

After the fish rain ended, everyone looked at Grandpa Yan with admiration: "Grandpa, how did you know that it would rain fish here?"

While asking Ye Jing to help him raise the sail, Grandpa Yan explained to everyone, "A big storm is coming soon. These fish are jumping out of the water because they are lacking oxygen. For safety's sake, we need to bring the boat to shore."

Big storm?

Everyone looked at the weather at sea in disbelief. Could there be a big storm in such good weather?

However, Grandpa Yan had lived by the sea for decades and was definitely more experienced than them. Coupled with the rain just now, Ye Jing admired Grandpa Yan very much and hurriedly ran to help Yang Fan.

When the power system fails.

Grandpa Yan had told them that it was very dangerous to travel in the deep sea by sail alone, so they traveled along the Bohai Bay all the way. They were not far from the shore, and soon they saw the coast.

While cleaning the deck during a break from Grandpa Yan's boat trip, Qiao An'an, Ya Ya, and Chi Xiaoyu counted a total of thirty small fish weighing one or two pounds each, and five large fish weighing over three pounds each.

These fish were originally very brightly colored, but after they stopped breathing, their bright colors disappeared.

There are so many fish, they can't possibly eat them all this month.

And the refrigerator can't hold it all.

Keeping it would only be a waste.

While the smaller fish were still alive, Qiao An'an threw them back into the sea, leaving only the larger ones behind.

Ya Ya held up a large fish weighing four or five pounds and handed it to Qiao An'an: "Mom, shall we eat this fish tonight?"

Qiao An'an felt that the fish was almost as long as Ya Ya. She took the fish and smiled, "Okay, how about Mom puts these fish in the refrigerator first and then cooks them for you?"

Ya Ya readily agreed.

Just as Qiao An'an put the fish into the refrigerator, the clear blue sky suddenly turned dark. Then, a huge wave hit the boat and made it rock violently. If Chi Xiaoyu hadn't grabbed Ya Ya with quick reflexes, Ya Ya would have been thrown out of the boat.

The people in the cabin couldn't stand it: "This is shaking too much!"

Grandpa Yan said that the waves they encountered when sailing large cruise ships were much bigger than this. When the waves were rough, they would tie themselves to their beds to prevent themselves from being thrown overboard: "This is nothing, and you can't even handle it?"

No sooner had Grandpa Yan finished speaking than Li Jianguo, who had been hiding in the innermost room all day, suddenly pushed open the door, rushed out of the cabin onto the deck, and began frantically vomiting into the seawater: "Ugh..."

Grandpa Yan shook his head as he watched: "I've already dropped the anchor, how was I supposed to know you guys were so useless? Forget it, everyone come out and help push the boat, let's get ashore."

Qiao An'an, who was in the cabin, put Ya Ya on the bed in the room, told her to hold on to the railing, and then took Chi Xiaoyu out of the cabin.

Once outside the cabin, Qiao An'an realized that a torrential downpour had started sometime earlier. Amidst the lightning and thunder, their yacht, even with an anchor, was still rocking wildly in the shallow water.

Grandpa Yan had already jumped into the sea: "I don't have enough strength by myself."

Seeing this, Qiao An'an and Chi Xiaoyu also got off the yacht to help push the boat.

However, the waves were too big, and they couldn't get the yacht ashore despite several attempts.

Li Jianguo, who was vomiting jaundice while leaning on the deck railing, could no longer bear the swaying and jumped into the river with a "plop." His title of strongman was indeed well-deserved. After helping to push, he soon pushed the yacht to the shore.

After the yacht went ashore, the swaying inside the cabin stopped.

Everyone went back to their rooms to change clothes.

The man was quick; he was out in less than five minutes.

After changing his clothes, Grandpa Yan perked up immediately when he saw the fish on the cutting board: "Such fresh salmon must cost at least a thousand yuan. You're in luck today. I'll cook you a salmon feast!"
