Qiao An'an was worried about the safety of the remaining seven chickens.
Chi Xiaoyu used a drone to deliver a large bag of protein powder, two large boxes of chocolates that kids love, and a dozen cups of instant noodles in various flavors to her.
He then reassured Qiao An'an over the walkie-talkie, "It's okay. I have stored a lot of protein powder and food. If your chicks don't survive, just take some from me. I guarantee that you and Ya Ya will meet your nutritional needs."
In the end times, everyone is in danger.
Why does this little girl always want to give things to others? Isn't she afraid of being targeted?
Qiao An'an felt it necessary to remind this naive young girl: "Human hearts are never satisfied. You have no idea what kind of person I am. Besides, nobody knows when the zombie virus will be under control. Aren't you afraid that if you keep giving me things, I might develop bad intentions towards you?"
Chi Xiaoyu, however, said she wasn't scared at all.
She then told Qiao An'an something she had wanted to tell her for a long time: "Do you know I'm your fan?"
Qiao An'an was stunned.
Chi Xiaoyu chuckled softly on the other end of the walkie-talkie, then calmly said, "That drone was the one I mailed to you. You even said you were going to return it to me."
I especially love the videos of you and YaYa interacting.
When I was three years old, my father abandoned my mother and married someone else. My mother always felt that my father abandoned her because she gave birth to a daughter. If she had given birth to a son, my father would not have abandoned her. So after the divorce, she treated me very badly, often hitting and scolding me, and even wanted to drag me down with her to die.
Although I was later rescued, I developed moderate depression.
My father became my guardian after my mother died. He was very rich, but he didn't want to support me. So he installed two rooms for me in the housing development he was developing.
I've always felt that it's my fault, that I disappointed my parents, which is why my mother doesn't love me anymore.
My dad doesn't want me.
When I first came here, my depression worsened from moderate to severe. I didn't even want to leave the house. So my dad called the supermarket to deliver things to me. I didn't want to see the supermarket staff often, so he stockpiled enough supplies and food that I could never use up in a few years.
Until I came across your video.
Seeing that you're willing to be at odds with your mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and husband for the sake of your daughter.
"You'd rather endure hardship alone than not have your daughter by your side. No matter how naughty or mischievous she is, you still choose to tolerate her and spoil her like a little princess. Only then did I realize it wasn't that I wasn't good enough, but that my parents never loved me at all."
They both have severe depression.
Chi Xiaoyu spoke in a very calm voice.
There wasn't even any intonation or rhythm.
It's like talking about someone else's story.
Qiao An'an felt sorry for the child. As a mother, she could never bear to see her child being abused, especially since Chi Xiaoyu said her parents divorced when she was three. Qiao An'an's daughter, Ya Ya, was also three years old when she got divorced. Once she brought Ya Ya into the picture, tears welled up in her eyes: "You're a lost child..."
Chi Xiaoyu hummed in response into the walkie-talkie and continued, "But I'm not very lucky. I encountered the zombie virus not long after moving here. But I also think I'm actually quite lucky. I've seen the horror of humanity here, which has strengthened my resolve to survive. I like you, so I want to share all the good things with you. I'm not worried that you'll have bad intentions towards me. Anyway, there are zombies all over the hallways. Even if you are a bad person, you can't threaten my safety, right?"
After finishing the call with Chi Xiaoyu.
It was almost noon.
Ya Ya and Da Hei squatted on either side of Qiao An'an, waiting for her to cook: "Mommy's hungry! (Woof)"
Qiao An'an was at her wits' end with the baby and the dog. She got up and went to the small yard to pick vegetables. Yesterday she had stir-fried celery with shredded pork, and today she planned to cut a bunch of chives to stir-fry. Although she didn't have eggs, she had a barbecue seasoning packet. She would add more oil, stir-fry it, and then sprinkle it with cumin powder and sesame seeds. The taste would be absolutely OK.
Ever since Ya Ya ate sweet and sour fish once, she has been craving fish.
She tugged at Qiao An'an's sleeve, raised her chubby little face, and opened her big, dark grape-like eyes, pleading, "Mommy, can we have sweet and sour fish today?"
The previous fish had been killed by a large tabby cat, so Qiao An'an had no choice but to braise it. Now, there were only four large fish and a group of small fish the size of a palm left in the pond. Qiao An'an was really reluctant to part with them. Just as she was struggling with whether to satisfy her precious daughter or let the fish go, a commotion suddenly came from outside the yard.
Qiao An'an even heard the sound of someone hitting the wall with an iron plate.
It has been almost two months since the zombie outbreak.
People have gradually become accustomed to the zombies, from their initial fear to their current acceptance. After all, zombies are more reliable than humans. As long as they don't make too much noise and stay inside the building, these zombies will generally remain in a semi-dormant state and pose no threat to the survivors upstairs.
So everyone tacitly maintained absolute silence.
Who's stirring up trouble?
Qiao An'an rushed upstairs to see what was happening outside. She took a fish net and handed it to Ya Ya, saying, "How about this? If Ya Ya can catch the fish herself, Mom will make sweet and sour fish for her."
This fish pond was originally a swimming pool built specifically for Ya Ya. The water is only 60 centimeters deep, and Ya Ya, who is about one meter tall, can play safely in it.
But just a few days after the pool was completed, the world went to the apocalypse.
Ya Ya hadn't been in the water much, and the pool had turned into a fishpond.
"Isn't it more fun to go fishing and catch fish than to eat them?" Ya Ya excitedly took the net and called to Da Hei to join her: "Let's go fishing! If we catch any fish, Mom will cook them for you!"
