Chapter 555: It’s All the Child’s Fault (Page 1/2)
Unlike the noisy and chaotic Huo Qingyan's family, Huo Yixin ran home like a happy little bird after school. She didn't even have time to put down her schoolbag before she could wait to get close to the busy Lin Man.
She clutched the corner of Lin Man's clothes tightly, shaking her like a spoiled child, and kept muttering:
"Mom, Mom! Where did you buy the pheasant eggs we had for lunch today? They were so delicious! I want to eat them again tomorrow."
At this time, Lin Man was busy bringing the steaming hot meals to the table and setting the table.
After hearing her daughter's request, she couldn't help but smile slightly, but still refused without hesitation:
"My dear, we still have a lot of free-range eggs at home, but we really don't have any pheasant eggs anymore.
If you really want to eat pheasant eggs, why not wait for your father to come back and ask him."
Lin Man was actually quite clear about this, and she hadn't yet fully understood the mysterious space. The colorful eggs imbued with spiritual energy couldn't be consumed daily by the children for the time being.
After all, these eggs contain special energy. If children consume too many of them for a long time, what should they do if their bodies undergo unexpected changes?
She couldn't even imagine that one day her children would suddenly run up to her and say, "Mom, look! I can actually fly!"
Just thinking about such an incredible scene makes people feel creepy, so she has to study the space behind the fog carefully.
Huo Yixin asked Lin Man again, "Mom, Dad doesn't have work today. What is he doing in the city? When will he be back?"
"I'm going to accompany your grandfather to meet the chief. I'll be back in the evening. Now, go next door and ask your aunt and brother to come over for dinner."
"I understand." After saying that, Huo Yixin ran away.
After a while, Huo Yining came into the house first and said to Lin Man as soon as he entered the house, "Mom, this Sunday our class is going to the farm for a picnic."
"Oh, you guys are going on a picnic too. What will the teacher assign you to bring?"
"A pot for cooking, and one meat and one vegetable."
Lin Man asked again, "Have you thought of what dishes to bring? We have two rice cookers at home, so you can take the smaller one."
"I've decided what to bring. I'll bring potatoes and eggs, one meat and one vegetable. Mom, do we have any pheasant eggs?"
"No more. We still have free-range eggs. You can take a few with you and make steamed eggs, poached eggs, or omelets."
"Ah, we're out of pheasant eggs. I'd better bring a bowl of jar meat!"
"Whatever you want, okay, let's eat first."
Lin Man really didn't expect that the children liked eating colorful eggs so much. It seemed that she had to go into the foggy space in the afternoon.
After dinner, the children took two bright yellow tangerines from the fruit plate and went to school contentedly.
Lin Man began to clean up the dishes and leftovers with swift hands and feet. In a short while, the restaurant was clean and tidy.
After finishing all this, Lin Man turned her head to look at Huo Rou beside her and said softly, "Rou Rou, let's take a nap first, okay? When you fall asleep, sister-in-law still has some things to do."

However, what Lin Man didn't expect was that Huo Rou shook her head without hesitation, blinking her big watery eyes and said, "Sister-in-law, I don't want to sleep. I want to go downstairs and play."
Seeing her sister-in-law was so insistent, Lin Man sighed helplessly, thinking that there was no rush for her to enter the space anyway, so she agreed to Huo Rou's request.
Lin Man carefully locked the door, then took Huo Rou's chubby little hand and walked downstairs.
Not long after I got downstairs, a kind-hearted woman came over to greet me: "Hey, Xiaolin, bring your sister-in-law downstairs to play! How's your mother-in-law doing lately?"
Lin Man smiled and replied, "Thank you Aunt Zhou for your concern. Grandma is in good health and is slowly recovering."
Before he finished speaking, another aunt quickly stepped forward and asked, "Xiao Lin, have you taken the time to visit your mother-in-law? Your mother-in-law has been discharged from the hospital, and as the eldest daughter-in-law, you should go see her."
Why didn't she go to see her mother-in-law? She even went to her mother-in-law's house this morning with eggs.
Lin Man was obviously unhappy about being pointed at for no reason, and she directly retorted: "I took my sister-in-law to see her this morning."
At this moment, the third aunt suddenly asked an awkward question: "Xiao Lin, I heard that your mother-in-law had her breasts removed. Will she still have her period in the future?"
When Lin Man heard this question, she felt a surge of disgust in her heart, but she still suppressed her displeasure and tried to be polite and perfunctory:
"Aunt Zhang, grandma is doing well now. I don't know the specific details, so please don't worry about her."
Unexpectedly, the aunt didn't stop there. Instead, she continued to ask, "Is your mother-in-law really fully recovered? But I heard from my daughter-in-law that her illness is terminal and can easily relapse!"
Lin Man couldn't help but frown when she heard this, her face darkened slightly, and she said with a hint of dissatisfaction: "Aunt Zhang, you should be more careful with your words. My sister-in-law is still here. Isn't it a bit inappropriate for you to say this?"
After she finished speaking, she ignored these aunties, took Huo Rou's hand, turned around and walked somewhere else, leaving a few aunties standing there looking at each other in confusion.
The lady surnamed Zhou gently nudged the lady surnamed Zhang next to her and said with a hint of resentment:
"Oh my! Look at your shameless mouth! You actually scared Director Huo's wife away!"
Aunt Zhang, however, didn't take it seriously. She stiffened her neck and retorted, "What's the matter? Isn't what I said the truth? My precious daughter is a nurse. She told me herself that cancer is incurable and will recur sooner or later."
Aunt Zhou rolled her eyes at her and continued, "Humph, even if your daughter is a nurse, so what? My son is a doctor.
I heard from my son that breast cancer is different from other cancers. As long as you take good care of your body after surgery, you may be able to live another 20 or 30 years!
Aunt Zhang pursed her lips. "I don't think so. Director Huo's mother is really something. She gave birth to a child at her age, and now she has breast cancer."
"What does breast cancer have to do with having children?"
