Chapter 75: Holy Mother, Please Sit Down

Chapter 75: Our Lady, Please Sit Down (Page 1/2)

The woman became even more upset when she heard Lin Man's rebuttal. "What's wrong with you, comrade? You have no moral bottom line at all. Soldiers are supposed to serve the people. When the people need them, they should take the initiative to stand up."

Lin Man grinned at her and nodded, "Well, I really don't have any morals, so no one can blackmail me morally.

You always say that soldiers should serve the people, so how do you explain the country's policy of giving soldiers priority in purchasing tickets?

As soon as Lin Man finished speaking, the young man who was climbing up to the upper bunk twisted his ankle and almost stepped on empty air.

The old man opposite couldn't help but chuckle. The woman's husband quickly came out to apologize, "I'm sorry, comrade, my wife is just a little worried. She can't take care of the child alone. I'll go back to my compartment now."

Lin Man didn't say anything else, and Huo Qingci just nodded lightly, "Your child looks quite old. Your wife should be able to take care of him. You should trust your wife."

The woman wanted to say something, but the man glared at her and she immediately shut up.

Seeing that no one was coming to grab his berth, Huo Qinghuan tugged at Huo Qingci and said, "Brother, can I climb up?"

Huo Qingci asked: "What are you doing climbing up now?"

"It was so boring, I might as well go upstairs and sleep, and I got up too early this morning."

"Then you go to the middle bunk and sleep there. Your sister-in-law will sleep on the lower bunk, and I'll sleep on the upper bunk."

Lin Man said, "You should sleep on the lower bunk and look after the luggage, and I'll sleep on the upper bunk."

Although there was no money in the luggage they brought, it still had to be kept under watch. The train stopped at too many stations, and each stop lasted for more than ten minutes. She was worried that some people with bad habits might steal something, so someone had to keep an eye on it.

Besides, she couldn't let Huo Qinghuan, a nine-year-old child, climb to the top to sleep. What if he fell down?

The middle bunk was better. If Huo Qinghuan stretched out her legs, the person sleeping below would definitely notice.

If Huo Qinghuan slept in the lower bunk, he would be worried that someone would sneak in and take him away when the train stopped in the middle of the night.

Although he is only about 1.4 meters tall, he is actually very thin and an adult man can easily pick him up.

It is said that one should not have the intention to harm others, but one must be on guard against others. It is better to be careful when going out and make sure to pay attention to the safety of your family.

Huo Qingci said, "Manman, you should sleep on the lower bunk, Qinghuan on the middle bunk, and I'll sleep on the upper bunk. But I can't sleep at this time of day, so I'll just sit on the lower bunk."

Lin Man stopped arguing with him. It didn't matter who slept on the upper or lower bunk. Anyway, it was impossible to let Huo Qinghuan sleep alone on the lower bunk.

Huo Qinghuan climbed to the middle bunk and slept from 8:40 to 11:00 before waking up. During this time, Lin Man and Huo Qingci sat on the lower bunk, chatting and reading, and drinking water when they were thirsty.

She originally wanted to take out some fruit to eat, but seeing the child sitting opposite her was making a lot of noise, she was worried that if she took out the pear and ate it, she would be morally blackmailed by the woman again and asked to give her the pear, so she simply didn't eat it.

The weather was too hot. Seeing that Lin Man's forehead was sweating from the heat, Huo Qingci quickly took out a handkerchief and gently wiped it for her.

"Manman, it's too hot. Do you want to go to the bathroom and wash your face?"

"There's too many people lining up for the restroom, so let's not use it. Let's go down and buy a paper fan when we get to the station."

The small fan on the roof of the train had very little wind and was shaking its head. They felt there was no wind at all when they sat on the lower bunk.

Although Lin Man had a small manual fan in her space, unfortunately she couldn't use any of them.

"I'm going to see if the train attendant has any paper fans for sale, and I'll buy you some snacks while I'm at it."

"Eating snacks in the summer makes my throat uncomfortable, so I'd better not buy any. Qingci, are there any popsicles for sale on the train?"

"I don't think so, but some stops should sell them. The next stop is almost here, I'll go down and check later."

"good."

When they arrived at the stop, Huo Qingci quickly got off the bus and went to the platform. The first thing he did was to buy a popsicle for Lin Man. Then he found watermelons for sale and bought three more. He also bought two folding fans.

Huo Qingci had just finished buying things when Huo Qinghuan climbed down from the bed.

"Brother, you bought me salt water popsicles? Why didn't you buy me mung bean popsicles?"

"Salt water popsicles not only quench your thirst, but also replenish the salt your body needs."

After Huo Qingci finished speaking, he handed one to Lin Man and another to Huo Qinghuan, but he didn't want any himself.

Lin Man asked: "Why don't you eat?"

“I bought a watermelon.”

There are watermelons planted in the space, but it is difficult to take them out, otherwise they can just use a spoon to dig out the watermelons and eat them.

The child opposite saw Lin Man and the others eating popsicles and watermelon, and started crying again: "Mom, I want watermelon, I want popsicles."

The woman pouted as she looked at the three pieces of watermelon on the small table, probably trying to blackmail them morally again. Seeing that Lin Man hadn't finished her popsicle yet, she directly gave each of them one piece of watermelon.

Don't blame her for being stingy. She spent her own money, so why would she give it to a stranger, a stranger who had morally blackmailed them? Even if she wanted to feed the pigs in her space, she didn't want to leave it to the woman to coax her children.

It was unknown whether this woman had had an affair with Lin Man. In the evening, some passengers were too tired and sneaked into the sleeper car.

The woman said directly, "They bought three berths for two adults and one child. If you're tired, you can ask them to give up one berth so you can rest for a while, and then you can return it to them at night."

The man looked at Huo Qingci eagerly, and Lin Man became furious. "Since you are so generous, you can give up your berth and let this big brother lie down for a while."

"How can I let you go if I have a child with me?"

Lin Man was really tired at this moment. She was always morally blackmailed by that woman because of the seat issue when she was on the train. It was really annoying.

She sneered and said sarcastically, "You are truly a role model for our generation, a kind person who generously helps others solve their problems.

You are so kind that the Leshan Giant Buddha will give up its seat for you if it sees you."

The woman asked, "What do you mean?"

Lin Man pursed her lips and smiled: "Holy Mother, please sit down!"

Although the woman didn't understand what the Virgin meant, she could tell that Lin Man was mocking her and started to say, "Young girls nowadays are so rude and ignorant. Not only do they not know how to be humble, but they also like to be sarcastic."

Lin Man wanted to confront her again, but Huo Qingci pulled her to sit down, "Okay, Manman, let's sit down and chat."

Lin Man didn't want to argue with the woman, so she pulled Huo Qingci aside to chat with him, talking about his childhood.

I endured like this for two or three days. The train finally arrived at the Guangzhou terminal after stopping and starting. Except for the woman with a child in the middle bunk opposite, everyone else was very easy to talk to and very well-mannered.

It was already past six o'clock when they arrived in Guangzhou. After getting off the platform, Huo Qingci hurriedly queued up to buy tickets for tomorrow's train.

After buying the tickets, they had a quick meal near the train station, and then checked into a nearby guesthouse. They stayed in a double room, three people in one room.

It took three days to get from Beijing to Guangzhou. On the fourth morning, I took the train from Guangzhou to Zhanjiang, which took another eight hours. It was already past five in the afternoon when I arrived in Xuwen.

In order to save time, Huo Qingci bought a ferry ticket for 8 or 9 p.m. But when he arrived in Haikou, it was already late at night, so he had to stay in Haikou for another night.

Because there were no rooms with double beds, Huo Qingci had to book two rooms and sleep in the next room with his younger brother.

Back in her room, Lin Man lay down on the bed. They had clearly done nothing these past few days, just taking the train for a few days, so why was she still feeling so uncomfortable?

With such a long train ride, Lin Man estimated that it would not be easy for them to return to Beijing in the future.
