Chapter 776: Gifts for Children

Chapter 776: Gifts for Children (Page 1/2)

After Lin Man finished speaking, her eyes swept over the small alarm clock on the bedside table.

When she saw the position indicated by the hour and minute hands, she couldn't help but be shocked: Oh no! It's already half past eleven! Only then did she realize that Huo Qingci had brought her to bed and she hadn't even started cooking yet.

Thinking of this, Lin Man hurriedly reached out and pushed Huo Qingci beside her, "Qingci, get up! It's already half past eleven, and the children will be home from school in half an hour, and I haven't cooked dinner yet."

Huo Qingci wasn't angry at Lin Man's push. He smiled and coaxed her, "Don't worry, Man Man, I'm here. The meal will be ready in less than half an hour. Don't forget we have a wood stove at home. Cooking with it is very fast!"

With that, he nimbly rolled over and sat up steadily in bed. Then, he methodically gathered the clothes scattered by the bed and put them on one by one. Lin Man, watching him busily getting up and packing, figured she had nothing else to do anyway, so she might as well take a comfortable bath back in her space and emerge refreshed.

Lin Man tiptoed out of the room, entering her own mysterious space. There, the warm water gently caressed her skin, leaving her feeling incredibly relaxed and comfortable. Even as she savored her bath, the world outside was changing.

Huo Qingci quickly dressed and rushed into the kitchen to prepare a meal for the family. He expertly washed and cooked the rice, then meticulously selected fresh vegetables and meat, washing and chopping them for later use. Once everything was ready, he lit the stove and, with deft wielding his spatula, began to stir-fry the delicious dishes. Soon, the kitchen was filled with alluring aromas.

Finally, when Huo Qingci took the last delicious dish out of the wok, he nodded with satisfaction, then deftly placed all the dishes on the table. Just then, a cheerful sound of footsteps could be heard outside the door. It turned out to be the children returning home from school, and even their grandfather had returned with them.

As soon as she entered the door, Huo Yixin's bright eyes immediately caught sight of her father's familiar figure. She excitedly ran over like a little bird and threw herself into Huo Qingci's broad arms. She kept shouting, "Dad, Dad, Dad, why are you back? Did you miss me and come back to see me?"

Huo Qingci smiled, looking down at his daughter, her face filled with doting. He gently stroked Huo Yixin's little head, then raised his head, his gaze passing over his daughter's tiny body, to his wife, who was standing not far behind her, quietly watching their interaction. His eyes seemed to hold a thousand words, but in the end, they only morphed into a simple yet affectionate statement: "Well, I missed my baby, so I came back to be with her."

Hearing such sweet words from her father, Huo Yixin was overjoyed. She raised her little face and responded happily, "Dad, I miss you too."

In comparison, the brothers Huo Yining and Huo Yian seemed a little shy.

Although they were also happy about their father's return, they did not jump into their father's arms and act cute like their younger sister did.

He just walked up to him, called "Dad" softly, and then walked to the dining table and sat down obediently waiting for dinner to start.

Huo Yiwen happily approached Huo Qingci with a bright smile on his face. After greeting him warmly, he couldn't wait to ask, "Dad, did you bring us any gifts when you came back from Hai City this time?"

His eyes, full of expectation, stared at Huo Qingci. Huo Qingci smiled brightly and said, "Of course, why wouldn't Dad bring you gifts when he comes back?

I bought two pairs of beautiful dancing shoes for Xinxin, picked out a set of exquisite painting tools for Anan, and prepared an exquisite harmonica for Ningning. As for you..."

Having said this, Huo Qingci deliberately paused for a moment before continuing, "I bought you a flute!"

Upon hearing this news, Huo Yiwen was slightly stunned at first, and then he muttered a little disappointedly: "Oh, Dad, these things can also be sold in Jing City. I thought you would bring us some special products from Hai City."

Huo Qingci naturally knew what his youngest son was looking forward to. He smiled and comforted him, "Don't worry, I've also bought some candies and snacks from Hai City, but you can't eat them until after dinner.

The food is ready now, let's enjoy it together! If you have anything to say, we can talk about it after dinner."

As he spoke, he gently took his daughter's hand and slowly sat her down. Huo Yiwen saw this and quickly sat down next to him.

Lin Man couldn't help but smile when she saw her lovely twin boy and girl tightly surrounding her husband.

She thought about it and simply walked over to sit next to her second son Huo Yian. The family sat around the dining table, happy and cheerful, and a warm atmosphere filled the entire room.

The family sat around the dining table, chatting and laughing while enjoying a sumptuous lunch.

After the children finished their meal, Huo Qingci stood up and went back to his room to take out the gifts he had bought for the children.

The children gathered around excitedly, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. Huo Qingci handed the gifts to them one by one. The children took their own gifts, opened them, took a look at them, and then put them back in their lockers.

After receiving the gifts, the four of them, as if on a pre-arranged basis, reached out and grabbed handfuls of chocolate from the table, stuffing them into their pockets, as if afraid someone else would snatch them away. Then, each of them picked up two sweet and delicious butterfly cakes, one in each hand, chewing them non-stop as they happily walked downstairs towards the school.

Watching the children disappearing out the door, Huo Li turned to look at Huo Qingci and Lin Man and asked, "How are you two thinking about the birthday party you discussed earlier?

How many tables should we host? If we have a lot, we can ask the cafeteria to help us host it. That way, you can have some more time.

Huo Qingci quickly replied, "Grandpa, actually, Manman and I have already discussed this matter.

Manman didn't want to have a big wedding. She said she would just set up two tables at home and invite some close family members to have a meal together.

As for me, I originally wanted to get 20 or 30 tables to celebrate for her, but Manman firmly disagreed. In the end, I had no choice but to compromise and decided to have only 10 tables."
