Chapter 7 Being taken back to the educated youth camp

The dim yellow light of the flashlight made it difficult for Wen Nuan to open her eyes. She raised her hand to cover her eyes, and then she could vaguely see the people in front of her.

"Xiao Nuan, where have you been? I can't find you anywhere!"

A warm hand grabbed Wen Nuan's arm, and at the same time a slightly hoarse voice sounded in Wen Nuan's ears.

Wen Nuan pulled her arm a little uncomfortably, but because the person holding it was holding it tightly, she couldn't pull it out.

In the dim light, Wen Nuan carefully looked at the woman holding her arm and recognized her as Xie Sufang, an older sister at the educated youth center.

Then she looked up at the other people. The first person who called her a girl was the village chief. Behind the village chief were four men, all of whom were from the educated youth site.

"Xiao Nuan, what happened to your head? Why is there blood?"

Xie Sufang saw the bloodstain on Wen Nuan's forehead with the help of the flashlight and screamed in surprise.

"What, there's blood?!"

When the village chief heard what Xie Sufang said, he quickly put the flashlight to Wen Nuan's forehead. Wen Nuan had to raise her hands to cover her eyes again.

"Oh my, there's blood, what's going on?"

When the village chief saw that there was indeed blood on Wen Nuan's forehead, he asked hurriedly.

Wen Nuan calmed herself down and said, "It's okay... cough..."

Wen Nuan's throat was hoarse after not drinking a sip of water for the whole afternoon. She licked the saliva in her mouth and continued,

"I'm fine. I just got lost while digging wild vegetables this afternoon and accidentally fell down a short slope. That's where my forehead got cut. It's not bleeding anymore..."

"Then why did you come back so late?"

When Xie Sufang heard that Wen Nuan had fallen down the hillside, she grabbed Wen Nuan's arm even tighter.

Wen Nuan felt a little pain when Xie Sufang grabbed her, but in her memory, this old educated youth lady was very caring towards her, so she endured it and said nothing.

"I hit my head when I fell down the hillside. I fainted for a while. After I woke up, I was dazed for a while. I searched for a long time before I finally got out..."

"What?! Still unconscious?!"

This time it was not Xie Sufang, but the village chief who asked first. Seeing that the village chief asked first, Xie Sufang did not ask again, but just held the warm arm even tighter.

"Well, I was unconscious for about two or three hours, and I still feel a little dizzy..."

Wen Nuan wanted to make herself sound weak so that she could take a few days off. After all, she had just been reborn and needed some time to understand the situation.

The village chief shone the flashlight on Wen Nuan again and saw that there was a lot of blood on her forehead, scratches on her face, and her body was very dirty, as if she had rolled in the grass.

"Then you should rest for two days. If you really can't make it, let Xie Zhiqing accompany you to the health center tomorrow."

Two days, that’s fine, Wen Nuan thought.

"Thank you, village chief..."

Just then an impatient voice sounded, "We've found the person, let's go back quickly!"

It was already dark, and Wen Nuan didn't see who was speaking.

"Okay, let's all go back!" The village chief looked at the sky, then looked at Wen Nuan, "Girl, stay here tonight and see if it works. If it doesn't work, go to the health center tomorrow."

"I understand, Uncle Village Chief," Wen Nuan responded obediently.

"Don't worry, village chief, I will look after Xiao Nuan tonight," Xie Sufang also said readily.

"Okay, let's all go back," and after saying that, the village chief turned around and left with a flashlight.

The several male educated youth who followed him did not say anything except what they just said.

"Xiao Nuan, let's go!"

Xie Sufang finally let go of the grip on Wen Nuan's arm, and instead gently supported Wen Nuan's hand, helping her walk towards the path where the group of people were coming from.

"Master, this young intellectual looks nice, and so does the village chief!"

The group walked slowly relying on the dim light of two flashlights. At this moment, Feifei's baby voice rang in Wen Nuan's mind.

"Well, in the little girl's memory, this Xie Zhiqing helped her a lot, and the village chief is also a pretty good person. Let's observe him slowly later."

Wen Nuan doesn't dare to say who is good or bad now. After all, when she received the little girl's memories, it was like watching a silent movie. She really couldn't empathize with them. She could only experience it slowly in the future.

"Xiao Nuan, besides feeling dizzy, are you feeling any other discomfort right now?"

Xie Sufang asked in a low voice, while the other male educated youth remained silent.

"Sister Sufang, I'm fine..."

"I've left your meal in the pot. Go back and eat quickly and have a good sleep. If you still feel uncomfortable when you wake up tomorrow, tell me and I'll go to the clinic with you..."

Listening to Xie Sufang's chattering voice, Wen Nuan did not find it annoying, but instead felt a little warm. After all, no one had chattered about her like this for more than 20 years in her previous life.

After walking for more than ten minutes, the group finally arrived at a row of small earthen houses. Wen Nuan knew that this was the educated youth site.

Pushing open the tattered wooden door, there was a small courtyard. There were two female educated youth waiting in the courtyard. When they saw the few people coming in, the two female educated youth hurriedly came over to greet them, "Have you found Xiao Nuan?"

"Found it, it's at the back," the taller of the four male educated youth replied coldly and walked towards the house in the east.

The remaining three male educated youth said they were going back to sleep and left.

Only then did the two female educated youth see Xie Sufang and Wen Nuan at the back.

"Ah! What happened to Xiao Nuan?"

The female educated youth cried out in surprise when they saw the blood on Wen Nuan's face.

"Xiao Nuan got lost while going up the mountain today, and accidentally fell down the hillside, breaking her head," Xie Sufang finally let go of Wen Nuan's arm. Wen Nuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. This elder sister's hands were really strong.
