Chapter 20 Homeless?
Ah Mei stared at Ji Yuanping, tempting him like a devil. "There's no benefit in staying in Hong Kong. Ye Lin has already discovered what we did, and he won't let us go. It's better to get a lot of money, stay far away and no one will find us."
Seeing that he was still hesitating, Ah Mei couldn't help but add fuel to the fire, "Don't you want to live Ye Lin's life? What ability does he have? Why was he born different from us? He was born in Repulse Bay, in Rome, served by servants. Why should we be in the slums! Serving Ye Lin!"
Ah Mei talked about the pain in Ji Yuanping's heart. His origin in the slums made him feel inferior forever. He still remembered the first time he met Ye Lin. It was his mother who took him to sell vegetables. Those were the vegetables he took care of every day but was reluctant to eat. A doll wearing dungarees and small leather shoes came to his vegetable stall, looked at the small vegetables curiously and asked him "Checos'รจ (What is this?)" He took a look at the doll's small leather shoes, then looked at his own cloth shoes with glue on, and he didn't dare to look at the small leather shoes anymore. They were not something he could have, and he didn't understand what the doll was saying. What? His mother looked at Ye Lin helplessly, afraid of making him cry. Poor people like them couldn't afford to offend foreigners in Hong Kong. At that time, he couldn't even distinguish English from Italian. "Angel, aspettami." (Angel, wait for me.) A blonde lady in a shiny aqua dress and white pearl-trimmed high heels caught up with him, followed by a foreign girl in a black maid dress. "Maestro, corrimolto veloce." (Master, you run so fast!)
After the memories ended, Ji Yuanping closed his eyes and thought about the wealthy life he had experienced with Ye Lin in the past year. That was a world he had never been exposed to. It turned out that there were people in the world who lived like this. It turned out that in his eyes, a mansion of several hundred square feet could only accommodate shoes. It turned out that some people would find a watch worth millions a burden!
When he opened his eyes again, Ji Yuanping's eyes became as crazy as Amei's. As long as he could become a rich man, it didn't matter if he had no conscience!
He may have some sincerity towards Ye Lin, but sincerity is worthless in front of US dollars.
The two hit it off and continued to plan.
In a private room on the first floor of the teahouse, "Raise it higher, lower to the right, you idiot, raise it higher! I can't hear you clearly!" Li Tianqin sat on his brother, and Li Gouqin stood on a stool and clung to the wall, trying hard to lift his brother from the window to the second-floor window.
Li Tianqin made a stand for the camera, which could just extend from the window to under the banana leaves beside the window of the private room on the second floor. It was very noisy outside the window, and the street vendors and cars blocked the sound of the camera shooting. While Li Tianqin was filming the private room, he instructed his brother not to move. Li Gouqin was really worried that his brother would fall down, as he would definitely break a leg from this height!
After the two people in the house finished their conversation and left, the two hurried to follow, the elder brother went to chase Ji Yuanping, and the younger brother went to chase Amei. Li Tianqin felt that the thing in Ji Yuanping's hand sounded very important, so it was safer for him to go and do it. Unfortunately, he couldn't hear the rest of the words clearly. It seemed that the woman named Amei was a little crazy, so he told his younger brother to just follow from a distance, and she probably couldn't beat his brother.
Ji Yuanping drove his second-hand car across most of Hong Kong, and after many turns, he arrived at a game hall. He got the key from the front desk, went to the check-in counter, opened the cabinet, took something out, thought for a while, put the thing down, locked the door, put the key back, and left.
Li Tianqin flashed out from the toilet. In this kind of mixed game hall lockers, only clothes and a few bottles of water are placed. No one would put a dime in them. It is a place where thieves are too lazy to pick the lock. No one would have thought that Ji Yuanping hid things here.
Li Tianqin grabbed a handful of hair and put a cigarette in his mouth, then handed one to the guy at the front desk. "Brother, my brother asked me to get something from cabinet No. 25. This guy, you just came here and missed it, but you're in a hurry to go poop, so let me go!"
Li Tianqin looked annoyed. The guy at the front desk glanced at him without thinking much about it. This kind of thing happens every day. He took the cigarette, took out the key and gave it to Li Tianqin.
"Thank you, brother!" Li Tianqin went to unlock the cabinet in a swaggering manner. When he opened the cabinet, there was nothing inside except a seal with a black handle and a gold-plated bottom. It looked quite valuable.
The seal was engraved with the words "Ye Lin" and a string of foreign words. The foreign words were not English, which Li Tianqin knew, but since it had the surname Ye on it, it was related to the employer's requirements. He put it in his pocket and took it back to show the employer first.
Li Gouqin followed Ah Mei to Mong Kok and saw her enter a building. The woman who opened the door called out to her, "My daughter is back!"
It seemed that Amei had gone home, so Li Gouqin found a newsstand downstairs and sat there for a while. After a while, Amei appeared again. She seemed to be disguised. She changed her clothes and wore black sunglasses. The big brim of the hat made Li Gouqin almost fail to recognize her.
I followed Ah Mei onto a bus and after a few stops we arrived at a boxing gym in Kowloon Walled City. Ah Mei held up the brim of her hat and walked into the back alley with a big man in the corner.
Seeing that there was no place to hide in the alley, Li Gouqin immediately took out his equipment from his briefcase: a greasy wig, a pair of black sunglasses with a broken leg, and a telescopic stick. He turned over his leather jacket, revealing that it was tattered and full of patches, as if it had been picked up from a garbage dump. He threw away his leather shoes, stuck his feet into the soil, turned them around a few times, wiped his face a few times, tore his pants and wiped the garbage slop on them. In just a dozen seconds, a fair-skinned young man turned into a blind, deaf, and smelly homeless man.
In the alley
Ah Mei took out some money from her purse and whispered to the big man, "I'll give you 10,000 Hong Kong dollars first, and then I'll give you another 10,000 when we get it."
Seeing that the big man in front of her was unmoved, Ah Mei continued to press forward, "Think about your mother. She still needs more than half of the surgery fee, right?" When the big man mentioned his mother, his eyes struggled for a moment. Ah Mei was about to continue persuading him when she suddenly smelled a foul odor and almost vomited.
A blind man was groping his way past them from behind. He was dressed in rags and was the poor guy that Ah Mei hated the most.
"Hurry up and don't get in the way!" A Mei covered her nose and hid behind to drive the homeless man away. Li Gouqin didn't bother to pay attention to her. He was blind, deaf and lame now. He continued to move forward slowly, leaning on his crutch and feeling the wall.
The big man couldn't bear to watch it any longer, so he turned around and said to Li Gouqin, "Go slowly, there are cracks in the bricks on the ground."
How could a deaf person hear that? Reminded by him, Li Gouqin deliberately walked through the cracks in the bricks and fell to the ground with a thud. He held his lame leg for a long time but couldn't get up. The big man hesitated, stepped forward to help him up, picked up the crutch that had fallen to the side and put it in Li Gouqin's hand.
Unexpectedly, this man was not a bad guy. Li Gouqin pretended to be grateful to the big man and bowed, then continued to crawl.
"What bad luck! He's deaf too." Ah Mei rolled her eyes at Li Gouqin. Seeing that the homeless man was deaf and blind, Ah Mei didn't care anymore and continued, "Think about it quickly. I'm not asking you to kill him. He'll just be unconscious for two days. At most, he'll be crippled and sentenced to a few years. Why don't you use the money to save your mother?"
The big man struggled for a long time, thinking of his mother who was in urgent need of money to save her life, he asked helplessly, "Just knock him unconscious?" "Yes, you can only be sentenced to a few years at most, which is faster than making money from boxing."
