Chapter 3 Aunt Rebecca
"Ah, Master, you're up."
The girl outside the door was in her early twenties. She had her hair tied in a playful bow with a yellow lace headband. She was wearing a black lace maid outfit and matte black leather wedge-heeled shoes.
The retro outfit made Ye Lin feel that this was not Hong Kong, but he had traveled back to the Middle Ages in Western Europe.
Ye Lin nodded at her
The girl said, "Mrs. Rebecca invites you to have afternoon tea in the back garden."
Seeing that Ye Lin had no intention of speaking, the girl bowed slightly to Ye Lin and left the room.
After the door closed again, Ye Lin searched his memory and found out that this was Amei, the daughter of Uncle Gui, the family's driver.
After graduating from the girls' school, she wanted to come home to help with the work. Her father, Uncle Gui, had been driving Ye Errong's car for half his life. They were all old acquaintances, so he felt at ease using the car. The girl was also smart, so Rebecca agreed.
According to my memory, the Ye family is one of the hidden richest families in Hong Kong. The salary of the servants is twice as high as that of white-collar workers working in Central. In Hong Kong, where every inch of land is valuable, the Ye family will allocate real estate to servants after they have worked for five years, with a standard of one thousand square feet per person. After retirement, the property will become the servants' private property. It can be said that in Hong Kong, even the servants of the Ye family are from a wealthy upper-class family.
No wonder the little girl is willing to work as a maid.
After seeing the living standards of the Ye family's servants, Ye Lin felt that he wanted to be a servant himself. The Ye family was such a conscientious employer that they gave him a house in Hong Kong just as they said.
After sighing, Ye Lin got up and went into the bathroom to wash his face and prepare to go downstairs. The boy in the mirror looked 90% like him, especially his cat-like eyes, which were black with a hint of ink-blue, and revealed a hint of mystery in the blink of an eye. No wonder Ye Errong said they were destined to be together. They were both Chinese-Italy mixed-race and looked so similar.
After walking out of the room, follow the red cashmere carpet to the spiral staircase on the second floor. The open-plan design allows for an unobstructed view of the living room on the first floor.
It seems that his room is normal, but what kind of style is this living room?
The walls of the house seemed to have brought the Palazzo Carignano here, but what was that in the entrance hall? A sunken Su-style rockery gate with two waterways extending diagonally from the bottom leading into the artificial lake in the garden outside the house. From time to time, a few koi fish rolled in the sunken rockery pond, which looked like they weighed a pound. If the carp were stewed, they would be great. Ye Lin looked away with regret.
Continue to observe this strange villa, oh no, it’s a luxurious villa.
A giant three-layer crystal chandelier in Rococo style hangs from the ceiling, several little angels are carved above the Roman columns, dark green French curtains hang to the ground, four large floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the swimming pool outside, a brush calligraphy piece "Heaven rewards hard work" hangs on the screen behind the rockery, and opposite hangs a pastoral oil painting and a painting of flowers, birds and landscapes.
Coupled with two medieval-style maids cleaning the furniture, the whole house exudes a chaotic yet harmonious style.
Taking the spiral escalator down to the first floor, the two maids saw Ye Lin coming down, stopped their work, bowed slightly to Ye Lin, and continued with their work. Ye Lin walked through the restaurant and headed towards the back garden.
Well, the restaurant design is also unique.
The back garden is slightly smaller than the front garden, but the design is more exquisite, with changing scenery as you step. A noble lady is sitting under the wisteria corridor behind the arch bridge.
You can't tell her age from the back. She's wearing a cream-colored Chanel-style dress, with her golden curly hair draped over a beige shawl, making her look noble and elegant. Her slender fingers with pigeon egg-shaped hair are stirring the coffee spoon boredly. I guess this must be Aunt Rebecca.
Ye Lin shouted "zia!" (Aunt) as he remembered.
"Oh! Angelo" Rebecca stood up when she heard the voice and pulled Ye Lin to sit beside her.
"My dear, you got up so late today. Did you have a sweet dream?"
Rebecca is forty years old this year, fifteen years younger than her sister Irene. Time has taken special care of this Western beauty, making Rebecca look like she is in her early thirties. Her deep blue eyes seem to be the same hue as Ye Lin's dark blue eyes.
Rebecca elegantly poured Ye Lin a cup of coffee. It was normal for her nephew, still a little baby, to be sleepy.
Ye Lin picked up the coffee and took a sip. It was mellow and smooth. It was made from Brazilian beans.
"It's a sweet dream, Aunt Rebecca. Your Chinese is becoming more and more fluent."
Since Ye Errong passed away two years ago, Rebecca rushed to Hong Kong from Italy to take care of Ye Lin. Two years later, she has no problem communicating in basic Chinese. She had wanted to take Ye Lin back to Italy, but her brother-in-law left a last wish to return to his hometown, so she had to give up for the time being.
Although Ye Errong spent most of his life in Hong Kong, he never felt that this was his home. Before his death, he was still thinking about returning to Qing City. After he left, the young master insisted on staying in Hong Kong, wanting to fulfill his last wish and was unwilling to return to Italy with Rebecca.
Because the young master has Italian ancestry and is born into a wealthy Hong Kong capitalist family, it would be too troublesome for him to return to the mainland, as it would cause trouble for his relatives there.
The young master stayed in Hong Kong, waiting for an opportunity to send his father back to Qing City, which lasted for two years.
After having afternoon tea with Rebecca, Rebecca went out to go shopping with her sisters. Before leaving, she asked Ye Lin if he wanted to go. Ye Lin was not familiar with the situation and was afraid that Rebecca would notice something was wrong, so he declined Rebecca's invitation.
After Rebecca left, Ye Lin planned to walk around the villa to see if he could find any clues. When he walked around the front garden, he met the housekeeper Fang Bo.
Fang Bo is almost fifty years old this year, but he is in good spirits. He is an old uncle wearing a Tang suit and looks energetic.
"Master, this is something Young Master Ji sent. Do you want to put it in your room?"
Ye Lin looked at the thing in Fang Bo's hand. Wow! He hadn't even looked for the young master's boyfriend yet, but he had delivered it to him.
Fang Bo was holding an orange boutique bag in his hand. Judging from the packaging, it was from a Western pastry shop in Sha Tsui. They only sold 50 pieces at noon every day, and people had to line up at noon. Ye Lin knew at a glance that this was a trick to deceive innocent young boys.
Ji Yuanping was sure that the young master had everything he needed, so he worked hard to impress the young master. He would queue up in the scorching sun every day at noon and then eagerly deliver the food to him. What a beautiful love.
Pah! Ye Lin would vomit if he kept thinking about it. As the saying goes, a fulcrum can lift the whole earth. This Ji Yuanping is even more amazing. He wants to lift half of Hong Kong with just a small snack.
Fang Bo looked at the young master worriedly. He always felt that Ji Yuanping was not a good person. He had a handsome appearance but there was always a hint of calculation in his eyes. His conditions were not good enough, but the young master didn't want to hear what he said. He was anxious every day and his mouth was sore recently.
